RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
I just received my new rims and tires from nitrohouse and they are great! My buddy was watching TV when i was mounting them and he saw some car with spinners on it and asked when i was going to put some on there. He thinks he is funny but i told i was just to be a smart ass for a day. Do they even make spinner rims for the buggies? I saw some in the parts book they sent with the rims and tires but nothing for a buggy just the monster trucks. I would love to get some just so when he got home he could see it sitting there with some shiny rims on it. That www.nitrohouse.com has some great things on it but the only thing i did not get was some glue i forgot. But they are all mounted and ready to go but of course when i went to go take a picture my buddy took his camera with him on a trip. Will have pics up some time this week.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Lighting VX Thread
Hello i was thinking of getting the Lighting and noticed that a couple of you were getting the vx18 motor. I was wondering when i go to the redcat site i dont see that you have that option, so where did you get it or is it a different brand? If it was a different brand what is a good switch that you have seen? Thanks

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
If you guys have a min i have a couple questions. One is tires, I see you have some street tires on your car buggygovroom. Now do they handle good on the cement? When I just want to mess around in front of my house i just have the cement street or grass to mess around on and of course it flips every other turn. Second question is i was running the other day and when i went to go take the air filter off i could squeeze the fuel out of it. Is that normal? It was running for about 10 min and then it stalled so i thought it was out of gas but later when i pulled the air filter off i noticed i did not run out.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Well the day has finally come, its running!!! I dropped it off and the hobby stop yesterday to get it tuned and they called me to pick it up today. So i go there and they were amazed that i paid half the price for it first of all. Second they tuned it, and broke it in for me for $40 so i cant beat that. He said it runs like a rapped ape!! I will send some picks as soon as it stops raining. Wish me luck!

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Well you were right, two seconds after reading this i just turned the bearing around and sure enough it worked. Thanks I tell you i can pull apart a car engine and put it back no problem but this small thing and i was fustrated. I had thought i received the wrong part at first. Pulling on it still gives me worries not started before so i think i am going to hold out a couple of days and take it to the hobby shop. When you guys got yours did you just start pulling on it and hope it started? I primed the gas, charged my ignighter, put in fresh batteries but it just did not want to start. I think while it is in the shop i am going to order the roto start so this wont be a problem again.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)

I pulled the engine, took the old one off, the new one came with a new nut for the crankshaft and when i went to install it the cord does not roll back??? Am i doing something wrong?? I cant wait to get this thing running but with out a pull start I am done. Thanks guys this site has been wonderful and the help is outstanding, i just wish i could get it going so i can add to it.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Buggy i just found out that my pull start is on back order and they dont know when it might come in. i was thinking it costs $30 for a pull start and 50 for the roto start i should just by the roto start. if i brake it again i am paying $10 more and who can say it wont brake again. the question i have is what back plate do i get? this sucks so bad to have it and not be able to get it on the road!! i cant even read the fourm right now just because i hate thinking its collecting dust right now. Thanks everyone for your input!!

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
What's going guys have not been on last few days. So i did the rookie move alot of other people did and broke the pull start the first day i got it(dumb ass). Should have another one in a couple days to try it again but i think this time i am going to have the hobby shop tune it for me, it only 25 dollars so i cant beat that since the pull start costs 30. Does anyone know if they have an electric start that will work on this buggy? Ill let you guys know when it up and running and i hope to have some video when i do. Talk later.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Perfect! I thought i saw some tire machaine on here so i thought i might have to use that to put them on. This is a rough week, i know its coming this week and i have nothing else to do but to look online and ask questions on what i want to do to the thing. Buggy i saw online a small camera that you can get for $40 that mounts to the car for video last week, you should get that so you dont mess up yours. I will have to see if i can find the site but they had that seperate and they had it on the car if you bought the car.

Hey buggy i went on that site for the rims and tires but i of course have a question. When i buy them they come seperate so what if anything do i have to do special to put the tires on the rims? I saw some nice wheels yesterday that i would not mind picking up. Thanks

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Like i said i was just making a comment, i am sure they are great out of the box and i dont have it yet so i cant say anything bad about it. I just know myself and i dont like anything stock no matter how fast or strong it is so i figure i should just ask know. i know i am going to replace things on it, I would rather get it from Redcat then buying something from another car if i can. Now for carbon fiber thats sounds like something i would really like to get into on my car. Talk to everyone later(hopefully when i get it).

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Yeah it has been freezing the last few days here and of course the week my XP comes in the mail. Buggy you use the tracks that often and race? Was thinking on picking up a clutch bell with some less teeth on it to go racing in a week or so. I know I have only been on this for a week or so but i have read all 7 pages of this thread and i guess i would of thought Darin would have some more info about his product on here. Please i dont want any hate mail because of that I am just saying maybe some updates of what he has going on, new parts coming out, tips on the problems he has read on this thread. I dont know about you guys but maybe once a week letting us know what Redcat has going on, it only helps us and is great for him to bring in more business. On another note I can not wait till it comes i am pumped to get it out on the road and smoke the tires off of it.

Nice rims you put on there, where did you get them? Saw some nice one's they had on the redcat site that are 5 stars but those are cool also. Again thanks for all of the info I should have mine in the next 2-5 days at the most. The only problem now is it is freezing and just snowed!!

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Hello everyone i got on this forum about a week or so ago looking to get a buggy and i finaly did it. I ordered the Hurricane XP and i got a great deal. I saw someone asking if they can get one for 220-299 and let me tell you i received mine for 315 with shipping and now i am just waiting for the UPS to come to my door with it. Now the question is what would be the first thing you would do to it right off the bat? I was thinking of ordering some of the metal parts for it right away since i know they are going to break on the first day. I also just found out there is a indoor racing park that has dirt track, drag racing, and a on road track so i need to get some practice before i start racing. I know when talking to BGV you were saying to change the clutch around to get some more burst off the gate so i think that is what i might do. Well i just wanted to say thanks guys, hearing everything you had to say about the car really helped on my choice.

Thanks Buggygovroom, you were talking about the new clutch bell. Does redcat sell the better clutch on their site or did you pick it up somewhere else? Do you have any other sites for parts other then redcat?

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Hello I also am new to the whole RC cars but am very interested in it. I have been looking on e-bay for a car and that is where i saw the hurricane xp. Of course i had to look at it because it said 80mph and it was a lot more inexpensive then the others. Now tell me honestly is this the car i want for the money? What other buggies can i put against it with speed? i see all of the parts for it to up grade so they dont break but what i really want is speed. I have a big area to race it and a few other buddies that have some stadium trucks so i just want to blow them out of the water. Its been years since i have worked on these things and RC10 was the best thing out when i had one. I am not so worried about tuning the engine because a 2 stroke is a 2 stroke they are always going to need tuning and rebuilding that is why they are balls to the wall. Any help you could give me would be wonderful i want to order something soon and i have really only looked on Redcat and e-bay. Thanks
