RE: Anyone ever built this little tug from the online plans?
It looks similar to the Midwest Jim wilder tug Visit Cornwall models the sell hull plans they have a 33" tug very similar I bought the plans but I'm offshore so I haven't seen them yet Look under Marine modeling international for the Crowley 19

RE: Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL?
Wow some people are crazy in these threads Here's my 2cents I have the stampede 4x4 and here's some facts about it It's slash4x4 based but the chassis and driveshaft are shorter I'm reading someone states the center shaft on slash 4x4 breaks alot.....well it has a slipper clutch to prevent that,if it's set to slip when it's supposed too then it's less Likely to break The 4x4 pede arm are as wide as the 2wd pede rear arms,it's very wide Out the box being it's wider in the front it's more stable and rolls less than the 2wd Run times on the 8 hour charge is 20-30 minutes stock, wheelies and burnouts on command

RE: Rear end comes up off of jumps
Sounds like your shocks are too stiff or maybe your oil is too thick, check for air in the oil is it just a certain jump or all of the jumps have you tried applying slight brake while in the air?

RE: Going down a tooth or two on the clutch bell. What will it do?
heres my 2 cents going down on the clutch bell teeth makes a larger diffrence than going larger on the spur,Ive learned that from dirtbikes two teeth down on the drive sproket was like going 10 teeth larger on the rim anyways you wont lose that much top end speed cause your motor will work a little less harder,That lil less effort means you will make up some loss speed by letting loose a little more power from the engine not having to work so hard I run 13 tooth bells on all my ofna buggies but I cant run a 12 due to my mount being out of adjustment so before you install a super small c/b make sure you can adjust for that small of a bell I recommend a small bell, leave the spur alone, the increased power and acceleration on the track and in the curves can pay off,How often do you need to go 50 mph?I can run at 43mph and get there faster with the smaller bell, lessen the strain on my engines and clutch pads

better off selling the 10 scale tires to buy 1/8 ones,No point on re inventing the wheel at a higher cost then buying them

RE: Captain Bobbie?
lol no man a 540 size lathe motor for a com lathe or rc tire truer lathe, there just really high turn motors that produce lots of torque to swing props without the use of reductions.trust me a direct drive 45 turn lathe will be plenty horsepower and rpm for up to a 2" wheel these motors http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0091P?&P=SM&C=CKA&V=INT www.cornwallmodels.com has plenty cheap props and shafts and fast shipping a boat that size single screw would need a 1.5- 1 3/4" prop,or a 4 blade 40-45mm

RE: Difficulties with new OFNA RTR Hyper 7 Black
heres what happened to my Macstar today I ran her gently running rich and I noticed the idle raised by itself so I really thought it was the servo so I paid no mind cause I goosed the throttle and the idle dropped to normal, ran for one more minute and presto the glowplug is starting to die out so I drove her to me killed the engine. Removed the plug it was melted, removed the head it shown signs of being over leaned which is strange cause I run rich now its time to check for air leaks cause thats the only thing besides chainging the fuel setting that could run it lean by itself removed the custom rotostart i built and backplate along with turbofan, rear seal was fine but when I spun the crank I noticed the rear bearing was spining on the crank.......not good removed the high speed fuel needle and there was no o-ring....thats the culprit.I never removed that needle ever....wheres my ring? The missing o-ring cause an air leak which over leaned the engine in turn shorted the engine of oil, seized the bearing enough to spin the race on the crank lesson learned if you hear something not normal chek it out asap that engine treated me great it was loyal and powerful heres what im doing though, bearing looks fine, piston and sleeve is damaged buy a 81 cent o-ring slap her together and give her a proper death the price i'll pay for a piston sleeve button head and bearing I could spend a lil more and replace the whole engine I have an o.s. vg30 on the way

RE: Captain Bobbie?
Ok from the looks on the size of the hull you can easily rum 50mm props,4blAdes on 55 turn motors I recommend for basic control a traxxas evx1 esc for twin motor

RE: Captain Bobbie?
Nice lil project What's the lenth of the boat If it's near 24" the largest prop I would run would be twin 45mm counter rotating,4 blades Check out www.cornwallmodels.com lowest prices and fast shipping.they have any prop size u can imagine If it's smaller than 30" I'd recommend one or two intgey lathe motors or rock crawler motors,35-55 turns.my 30" boothbay lobster boat ran a 45 turn direct drive with 1.5 hour run times, boat went 15mph and plenty power and low speed control.motor would be 80 degrees after a long run so water cooling wasn't needed Your boat can run single screw also Oh my 45 turn lathe turned a 3 blade 2"(50 mm) prop with no problems

RE: what are the best longest lasting street tires?
I think with the design of 1/8 buggies and the use of center diffs not many street tires would last, acceleration on turns makes the front spin smoke tires. My buggy also eats prolines fast but thats the only tires I run those ofna tires look sweet

Visit www.ofna.com They offer online manuals that show all the part number, compare the shaft numbers With that said I used hyper7 sport driveshafts in my x1cr lastnight, different numbers but perfect fit, most shafts are the same just made from different material

Buggies converted to cars
So my goal is to use either my Ofna Hyper7 PBS or my old school Jammin X1CR and convert it to the Ultra GTP and get the Kyosho GT rally Impreza body with that said I spoke to Ofna and they claim that the PBS wont work cause its not really an Ofna design so the arms for the GTP wont match up but the X1CR will So with the PBS Id have to narrow the arms and shafts 1/2" on each side with the X1CR Id have to buy all the GTP suspension or narrow everything else as well has anyone converted there 1/8th buggy to a scale Car,rally or touring, pics if ya did please The GTP rolling chassis is about $175,the parts to convert the o.g. is about $75 but I cant locate a few parts
