msr x parts upgrade
i just broke my swashplate trying to tinker with the mm mod. since i'm still learning to fly, would you recommend the rkh swashplate or the standard one? also, if you recommend the rkh parts, could you name the main parts to get. thanks all!

msr x arrived!
My msr x finally arrived, as did my dx6i Tx. I finally got it to hover about 2-3 feet off the ground, but only when I'm facing the same direction. This thing is a lot of fun! Quick questions: 1.) When it it in the air, it leans to the right. It "looks" like the right side is lower to the ground ~15-20 degrees. is this normal? can i adjust anything to make it look more like a regular heli and not one that is stuck banking right? 2.) how do i know if d/r is activated on my Tx? I programmed the rates, but do I simply flip the D/R switches, or do i have to toggle the functionality on and off, like with the gear/f-mode switch?

Blade MSR X battery and charger help
I'm planning on getting a Blade MSR X and a dx6i transmitter. I realized the heli doesn't come with any batteries or a charger. I was wondering what batteries and charger to get. I saw this: [link=http://www.bladehelis.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLC1004AC]http://www.bladehelis.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLC1004AC[/link] but read some reviews that said this device will not stop charging, and overcharge batteries. Could someone kindly point me to a good but inexpensive charger and batteries for the Blade MSR X?

DF video
i saw a video once, of a guy hovering a DF or a similar looking unit in his patio/backyard. i thought it was posted on these forums but cant find the thread or link. he pretty much set it to auto hover and would leave the Tx there while attending to his wife and kid. occasionally he would adjust the trims. if you know of this video, please share a link. thanks!

RE: Ti problem - please help
i have my own futaba 9cap radio and i just bought the DF about 2 months ago from RCtoys.com the manual isn't as clear as you'd think - it's confused me quite a bit. anyways, what's the correct way to arm the DF with Ti on? also, is it normal for the DF to offer a response when I hold it in my hand and try to wiggle it around?

RE: Ti problem - please help
But then the helicopter won't arm, right? Isn't that necessary every time you turn on the DF?

Ti problem - please help
I'm not sure if the Ti on my DF is working properly. These are the steps i take, but if I ever push the DF in a direction, or the wind blows it, it never returns to a stable flight. It will keep going until it crashes. 1.) Turn on the Ti switch on Tx and then turn on the Tx. 2.) Turn on the DF. 3.) Hold the throttle stick to the bottom LEFT and press the arming button. 4.) Pick up the DF by the base, point the eyes to the sky, and press the arming button. 5.) After placing it on the floor, step back about 15 feet and hold the Tx stick to the bottom RIGHT. 6.) Fly with no help.... Am I missing something, or doing something wrong? I noticed this also, regardless of if the TI is ON or OFF (and armed), when I turn the DF motors on and wiggle it in my hands, there is some type of feedback from the motors and they give a response based on the direction I move the DF. But again, that is regardless of if I have the Ti on or off. Please help....

DF goes crazy
so far ive only been able to hover around with my DF. occasionally ill try to land on a table or bed and mess up and the Df hits the floor upside down. when this happens the Df goes nuts. one or two rotors spin at top speed and the others will turn on and off. of course my throttle stick is down but it doesn't matter. i end up having to kill the power. do any of you ever have this happen? is this normal?

Low Battery and Torque / Yaw
Hi, I'm still new to flying my DF. When I first get it off the ground I had to give the left stick (yaw) decent amount of left trim. But I start to feel as I fly, the longer I get into my flight, the more left yaw I need to apply. But if I change batteries, I need to reduce that amount to where I originally started. Is this normal? I've only flown indoors and this seems to happen every time.

Self Leveling and Ti
I'm a little confused on the different setups for the DF. I think there are a few ways to set this up: Ti on (for outdoors flight) and Ti off (indoors flight). Can someone confirm this: To turn Ti off, simply turn on the DF and arm it by moving the throttle stick to the bottom left and pressing the arm button. How do I turn Ti on? Do I need to calibrate after turning it on? Also, what is the channel 5 switch to turn Ti on and off for? Thanks in advance.

RE: Erratic Hovering - need help
well thanks for the help everyone. i have to beleive my model is not functioning properly and is defective. it was NOT test flown (obviously since it cannot fly with 1 of the rotors spinning backwards) and now i'm experiencing another issue!!!! now when i give it throttle only 2 motors (left and right) spin. the front and rear spin slowly and then stop. what a drag to wait so long and receive junk in the mail. i did speak with DF and they authorized an RMA. I will let you know how it goes and how their support is for all you future purchasers. thanks again for the help.

unfortunately im using my own transmitter, a futaba 9cap. i dont know which switch is for turning on and off the Ti. is there any way of knowing for sure if it's on or off? any type of blinking led or anything by the DF?? i guess part of the problem is I don't know when it is on or off.....

RE: Erratic Hovering - need help
is it better to learn indoors with the Ti off and no wind, or outdoors, with the Ti on? also, the manual confused me a little. can someone explain these 3 steps: 1.) How to enable Ti 2.) How to disable Ti 3.) I'm using my Futaba 9CAP - is there a switch to enable / disable Ti, or is that only on other DF models? I have the DF V Ti Rc. I just bent the rotors a little to keep them from hitting the frame.

Erratic Hovering - need help
I finally fixed my motor problem from an earlier thread (I soldered the wires PROPERLY on the left motor). I'm having a hard time hovering though. I do fly planes and gliders, so I'm comfortable with subtle movements but here's my issue: When I give enough throttle to hover, the DF starts going up slowly and will suddenly bank hard left. And if I compensate it banks hard right and starts swaying like crazy. I tried this indoors with the Ti turned off (at least I think it was off, there was no confirmation). I also tried outdoors with the Ti turned on (again I get no confirmation if it's really on or off) and same issue. Is it just me? I can't even trim it out because as soon as it gets to hover for 2-3 seconds it'll bank left or right and I'll have to correct it. Please help.

RE: Hard carrying case
I took some photos quickly, if you need a better angle or lighting let me know. Here are the photos. Notice that the frame AND the carbon rods DO NOT touch the foam. The only item touching the foam is the black motor gear. See photos below. This is for all 4 gears and corners. Is this normal? RE: Need help - motor spins the wrong way
I just called DF and they said all units are test flown and they were surprised mine had a backwards motor. When you pay around $1000 for and item, it would be fair if they beleive a novice customer that that is the case and I'm not making it up. Anyways, I spoke with a tech named Jeremy at DF and he said to solder the wires backwards. I hope that doesnt affect the motors performance or life. Also, he said there is no way to get the rotors to not click or rub agains the frame as they pass around. Sky High I didn't quite get what you meant about attaching a blade to the rotor arm? Could you help me out and clarify, since DF support doesn't exist right now. Thanks in advance.

RE: Hard carrying case
Sorry didnt have time to take a photo yet - but I called Draganflyer support and wanted to see if you all had the same case issue as me: What I mean is, after you put your DF inside the hard case, try checking to see if landing base actually touches the bottom of the case. On my case, the 4 landing pegs are elevated about a 1/4 inch above the bottom. The entire DF unit is held up by the L shaped corner foam on all 4 corners of the case. In otherwords it is held off the floor by the black motor gears. Also, the frame and carbon rods do not touch the foam insert that goes in before the DF. Jeremy (a tech at DF) says this is how they were designed. But I still find it wierd to suspend the DF by the four black motor gears. Should I cut soem foam down, or do you all have it this way? Thanks in advance....

Hard carrying case
I just got my DF today. I noticed when I put the DF in the carrying case, it rests on the black gears where the motor is and NOT on the frame or the base. There is some foam that sticks up in all 4 corners and holds up the DF of the bottom by the 4 black gears. Is this normal? Seems like the gears could break if the case moves around too much.

dont they test these before they send them out? it says that everywhere in the manual. will reversing the wires affect performance? if so i'm hoping they send me a new motor and pay for shipping. any tips on how to reduce the scraping?

the front and rear rotors are marked A and left/right are marked B. the rotor that spins backwards had the colored wire attached AWAY from the redt dot. the rest do not. i have no soldering equipment and dont know how to fix this.

RE: Need help - motor spins the wrong way
sky high, i know they rotors need to be screwed in. but as i said above, it doesnt affect the scraping, i was just too lazy to screw them back in before i took the photo. what did you mean about connecting with a red dot? not sure i followed you on that one.

RE: Need help - motor spins the wrong way
Ok there are two issues: 1.) the left rotor (bottom left side) spins in a counter clockwise direction, yet the right rotor spins in a clockwise direction. 2.) 3 of the 4 rotors scrape along the frame making a clicking sound, see second photo. by the way, i just unscrewed the rotors before I shot the photo, so I know they need to be screwed in with the white nylon screws. also, screwing them in does not improve issue #2. dont know if i am doing something wrong - in the manual it says each unit was tested and flown, so it could be me. please help! Need help - motor spins the wrong way
Just got my Draganflyer in the mail today. It came in the traveling case ready to fly. I attached the rotors as instructed, but on on of the motors, it spins in the wrong directions. I'm sure I have the correct rotor on there and the other motors. Not sure why it spins backwards, but I obviously cannot fly until this is resolved. Can anyone help or advise?

Draganflyer now available on all channels?
I have a channel 34 futaba 9CAP Tx. I spoke with the people at DF and they said they use a berg receiver so they can design the DF for any channel. Anyone know more behind this? What is a berg receiver, and will this result in more hits from the Tx to Rx?
