single speed to 2 speed upgrade
so my thunder tiger TS4N is currently fitted with s single speed setup. i was hoping some of you can post up a link to where i can buy all the relevant parts to upgrade to a 2 speed setup. and also a list of the parts as i dont actually know exactly what parts i need to buy. also if a gasket needs replacing and is creating a leak would this result in the following 2 symptoms, firstly lost in efficiency from the engine i.e not moving until mid-high rpms from idle. also accelerated fuel consumption? your assistance is greatly appreciated as with all of my threads and look forward to reading your replies. also several screws on the undercarraige require tightening regulary, i.e after every run. would you recomend threadlock or will superglue suffice?

RE: first cutting attempt pics
i'll second that. if these rims where made out of aluminium they'd kick ass. sadly the paint chips fairly easy on these.

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
okay so i sorted the deflector pipe by using some fuel pipe and copper tubing and re-routed the exhaust outlet to the rear of the car. the gasket needs replacing on the manifold and that will sort the leak. but for some reason after removing some parts yesterday to give it a half decent cleaning the brake no longer seems to work very well on the high rpm range. it did before. i've had to loosen the brake as it was rubbing on the brake disk and wouldnt start to roll until the higher rpms. anyone got some suggestions?

RE: first cutting attempt pics
ok so i refitted the headlamps with some crome effect bezels and used some metal strips and pop rivets to fix it all in place. it all works really well! im well pleased with it. now just waiting for the grill mesh to arrive. its silver aliminium but may be able to paint it. anyways now i just need the new leds for the new shell, 4 blue 2 green and 2 red lol. once i then have the new shell n leds fitted in i'lll just need the neons lol anyhoos i'll upload some pics from front on view and front angles.

RE: first cutting attempt pics
i was going to get one but they're still fairly pricey. and i seem to manage okay without one. i can keep a steady hand and i dont mind scoring the same like 10-15 till the blade slides through. i've already found patients is a key element with body mods. on my new shell im going to be putting 5/6 grills in. a long one along the bottom, one either side behind the front wheel arches and one either side behind the rear. i might put a second one along the front of the shell but wont dedice until i get the shell in my hands. picked up a sheet of clear plastic today to do the covers for the headlamps as im mounting the leds inside the shell, they come with bezels but they stick out 6mm from the shell and dont like that, so im going to get a metal strip and cut it into the right amount i need and bend it, drill holes to insert the bezel then hot melt glue it to the shell, that way i can bend the metal to the right angle i want. its a little extra weight but im not to fussed over that atm. just really cant wait to get all the parts in the shell and see how she looks. i've also managed to redirect my exhaust from the side to the rear using some engineering luisiana copper piping and spare fuel piping. doesnt look to bad and seems to work okay.

RE: first cutting attempt pics
okay so i've added the skull decals and they went on nice and easy and are pretty much in the same place as each other. silver in colour and my shell atm is silver. but they show quite nicely. also new rims arrived today, VERY happy with them though the tires have little grip on them. so will need to change them. my new shell was dispatched from germany yesterday so will be a week or two before it arrives and my neons i aint got a clue whats happening with them atm all i know is they are either red or green. (yeah they to go on a blue shell :S but blue neons where out of stock) im making a NEW light kit for the new shell, going to have 4 10mm blue leds making up the headlamps, 2 red 5mm leds for tail lights and 2 green 5mm leds so light up the inside. should look pretty damn nice onces thats done. only problem is that the spoiler i want to put on the new shell is silver. and its aluminium so its not like i could paint it? also got my new body clips so i can get rid of the reshaped split pins that i was using to hold the shell on lmao. need a new antenna straw and gasket but other than that the shells are coming along nicely. will probably be a couple of weeks before i worry about getting the mesh though. i got some clear plastic to make some covers where the headlamps where cut out. i'll post up some pics of the wheels and decals fitted later on. would really like any opinions on the work so far. first time customising a nitro so would be good to get some feedback

RE: first cutting attempt pics
actually thebottom of the bumper is half way up the vents. so even if i was to bore the foam it would make such little difference. besides its got the windshield holed out for vent. so these cut outs are more for show that anything.

RE: first cutting attempt pics
well like i say, this ones for practising on. i got some flamey skull decals coming in next few days gunna shove one or two of them on it. as for liking it after running it. my 16% nitro is arriving tomorow and i still got a tank of 5% left so yeah. probably wont be to impressed with performance with th ecut outs, theres only a hole on the rear windshield and under the car for the extra air intake to escape from. but once i get some mesh and put in the cut outs, a few decals on the body, headlights sorted out properly and tail lights installed....for a stock shell shouldnt look to bad.

first cutting attempt pics
so this is my mercedes shell that came as stock with the car. i brought the car second hand anyway and brought a new shell. so thought i'd give cutting the shell a try as need to do this on my new one. so here are my first and currently only attempts on cutting the shell. i've not sanded/buffed the edges yet so still a little tatty. oh n they was all cut with a half blunt craft knife. im going to get some fine metal meshing to go on the inside where the cut outs are. might look good might look crap. personly im not fussed on this shell. as im using to test any "mods" that need making to my new shell. it only cost £15 but its a nice shell so dont wanna wreck it. also if anyone knows where i can get a mustang 1/10 shell with 200mm wheel base dirt cheaply please lemme know.

RE: leak in piston sleeve/ shims
okay so i started the engine up a few minutes ago and shoved my head right up close, totaly got gassed by fumes and now coughing like mad...shoulda held my breath....anyways, its the bit between the engine and the exhaust thats letting it out. the fluids where bouncing off the shims making it look like a leak from there. sorry guys. will replace the part in next week or so.
