RE: XHeli CNC Upgrades - how good are they????
I bought this one http://www.xheli.com/ebl400cnfiup.html turned out to be a great deal, 2 sets of carbon fibre blades, CNC rotor head assembly (need to cut about 3mm off the shaft for it to fit the Blade 400) CNC tail assembly (haven't needed to installe it yet). Received it within a little more than a week and i am in Canada.

RE: instructions for changing the motor in my RC18T ?
Hobbyking has a couple that are $15.95, go on the site and search for rc18t and it gives a list of parts that fit the car. I just ordered a 4200kv and 6200kv to try. I can send you the part numbers from Hobbyking if you want.

RE: instructions for changing the motor in my RC18T ?
yup, screaming fast, and the heat was so bad i pulled the motor before it fried itself, fun for a short time, i think it was running faster than 30mph

RE: instructions for changing the motor in my RC18T ?
I'm using a hobbywing 7800kv motor and a 25a esc. The motor was getting too hot to touch so i'm installing something a little slower, going to try a 4200 and 6200 and see how they work.

RE: instructions for changing the motor in my RC18T ?
thanks for the tip, i installed brushless and made sure the mesh was good, runs smooth and i can't believe how fast it is, i never expected these speeds from 1/18 scale.

instructions for changing the motor in my RC18T ?
Does anyone have instructions or a video for changing the motor on these? I'm used to the larger 1/10 scale where you remove 2 screws and the pinion and the motor pops right out. I just bought a used one and i want to install a brushless setup but it looks like you need to tear down the whole back end to do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks Ross

RE: spektrum 2.4ghz radio system ????
I put a DX3E in my Redcat Tornado, works great, Range is great, i've driven it down the street as far as i can see it clearly and never miss a beat. Came with a digital servo that gives better response than the stock and i used the 3rd channel with a servo to turn on/off some headlights i installed under the rear wing.

Redcat Tornado EPX pro pinion gear part numbers are incorrect
Hi I ordered the following pinion gears from my LHS for my Tornado EPX pro so i could try different gearing for speed and torque, none of them fit, can you explain this? your web site where i got all the numbers says they are all for my car but the teeth are smaller than the original spur and pinion gears. I even have the 11153 part that it shows in the parts diagram on your site and it is different from what is installed in the car. Can you guys explain? Have their been upgrades to the documentation or the car that have not been published? This is frustrating because now i can't get replacement gears if something breaks. thanks 11144 Aluminum 14T 48 metric pitch pinion 11146 Aluminum 16T 48 metric pitch pinion 11152 Aluminum 22T 48 metric pitch pinion 11153 Aluminum 23T 48 metric pitch pinion 03005 Aluminum 26T 48 metric pitch pinion Ross

RE: *RedCat Racing Tornado EPX Thread*
The response i got from Redcat was that the ESC is only good for 2s. The motor should be ok with 3s.

Gearing ratios for the Tornado EPX pro brushless?
Hi, i'm looking for the gearing values for the differential. There are some calculators on the web that will tell me what speeds to expect with different pinions, motors and batteries etc... but they need the pinion tooth size, the spur tooth size (have both of these already) and the transmission differential ratios before it will calculate. Can anyone help with this info, the manual is not that clear and since i'm fairly new to this it's tough to figure out which values i need to plug in. thanks!! Ross

RE: Tornado EPX Pro steering servo, Analog or Digital?
Yes, seems much smoother and more responsive when turning, i don't have much experience with this so i didn't realize how much better it would be than analog.

RE: Tornado EPX Pro steering servo, Analog or Digital?
Swapped out the servo for the digital one that came with my DX3E, no issues, slotted right in with the included hardware.

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
Sheograth, they are not mini EC3, check this site: http://www.supertigre.com/electric-power/adapters.html they are Supertigre connectors, i checked E-flite EC3 and they don't list anything about mini EC3 connectors, they have EC3 an EC5 for larger current applications.

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
that's right, EC3 are blue and are both connectors on the plug are male or female depending on if they are battery or device, the red connectors they are asking about are the Super Tigre connectors (just looked it up to confirm it).

RE: Can anyone identify this plug?
they are thunder tiger or supertiger, i don't recall which but i checked at my LHS after i got them on several batteries i purchased from HobbyKing. I replaced them with the EC3 connectors which are blue.
