ok i added the traxxas ez-start system. no more pulling just for some advice the trx 3.3 is a pain to pull start. it did add a little bit of weight but it should help with traction the shock didnt sag so i should be ok. also i do have some youtube vids of my t-maxx and rc10gt with the 3.3 i was holding the cam and trying to drive kinda difficult except or the easter vids.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
hi ive been working on my rc10gt trx 3.3 project for some months now and i have some pictures i also have a tub chassis for sale or trade. i need a new body for this truck any cheap idea's also if you are wondering the battery box/ bumper is from a nitro rustler just had to do some trimming and it fit. the 3.3 was almost a direct fit just have to turn the pull start only motor mount around and widen and lenghten the motor mount screw holes and setup the slide carb linkage. im using a 66T AE spur and a stock t-maxx 3.3 Clutchbell the 3.3 is from my t-maxx the exhaust header is custom but i think the rustler 3.3 header will direct fit. this truck screams is very hard to control it is hard to get traction.

i thought going with traxxas would make it easier getting parts from my lhs but i still find myself ordering everything from the web. its much cheaper on the web. goto your lhs and look at parts and then go on the web and look at parts youll notice a huge diff in price. if you want good redcat parts cheaper and great shipping rates try www.rufaster.com i got all my parts from that site they also ship very fast like 2-3 days if you are in the USA. eddie from himotousa.com is also good to deal with. if you order from eddie dont just order 1 item he has standard shipping rates. brett you should try building a custom truck buy a junker from ebay and make it your own the rc10gt frame is a good 1 to start with. cheap lite and lots of room to play with and tons of parts on ebay.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
the 2nd breakin comes directly from OS engines. the lc3 is intneded or the os21tm for this time of year i would use the A3 plug its hot and by 2nd break in i mean run the truck as if you were breaking the motor in.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
brett when changing fuel brands and nitro content you need to do a 2nd break in with the new fuel. im pretty sure its your outside temps thats causing you tuning problems. your motor might be cooling down too fast with the cold air rushing in try wraping some tin foil around the cooling head make sure your fuels oil content is no less then 16% the vertex and most motors are designed to run on no less then 16% oil content traxxas uses like 18 or 19%. i think its alot. i run morgans fuel backyard basher and i like it plus its only 30 bucks compared to top fuel 45 bucks gal. morgans fuel also makes sidewinder.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
brett i use wd-40 and nitro force by dynamite to clean out my motors. on the tuning i had the same problem with my nami i changed the glowplug re torqued the head screws and cleaned out the exhaust sometimes it loads up with oil and chokes the carb. another thing that might be messing with your tuning could be the o-rings on the tuning needles check those. and your outside temps have they changed since the last time you bashed? and is it below 35? nitro fuel pull moisture out of the air and the water will freeze or jell up a good way to check for freezing or jelling nitro. hold up your fuel pump bottle to the sun or light and look for little floaty like things. looks like oil when you put water in it.

whats up every 1? im working on a new project im putting a trx 3.3 in my rc10gt so far the 3.3 dropped right in just had to turn my mounts around got the linkage working going from rotary to slide is a pain in the booty but i got it. im stuck on how to get the exhaust hooked up and a clutch setup the pilot shaft is the correct lenght but the diameter is bigger then the os cv15 by .015 or 1/64th i could bring the crankshaft to work and turn it down on a lathe but thats risky. or try to find a clutch bell that will fit and work with y spur gear. if any 1 has some ideas would be great and thank in advance

this might sound silly i had the same problems with my stock drive cups then i orderd new 1s from rufaster.com and they held up great maybe its because i spray silacone on those parts. you should try getting some silacone spray at homedepot usualy with the snowblowers it stops dookie from sticking to things and makes a great lubricant also works great for keeping your electronics dry.

i use nitro force by dynamite to clean my rc's its not cheap but works great. and just warn you the redcat drive cups have already been heat treated and when you try to heat them up again they wont be the same and become soft.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
you shouldnt turn your lsn in 1/8 turns should be much less then that. when your rpms rise when you back out the lsn it usualy indicates that you have backed out too far and you are sucking in air through the screw it could be that the o-ring on the screw isnt making a complete seal i would be carful if i were you. for the futrue the lsn is very very very touchy so very small adjusments on that screw.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
try the alum clutch shoes from redcat makes a huge diff. VX and the SH motors dont have alot of bottom end . if you want to get a little more out of them try leaning out the LSN just a little bit make very small adjusments on that. try a tubed header and like keith said try gearing it down. also make sure the brake is 100% free of dirt and make sure the brake cam is clean also mine use to get dirty and the break would stick on take off.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
115mm dogbone sounds like the ultrawide and im pretty sure no 1 makes after market for that size and from ive been told its the only problem with the ultrawide always snapping and redcat never having them instock. are your dogbones snapping or just falling out of the cups? if they are falling out of the cups you can use orings as bushings. you can see if redcat sells cvds for the ultrwide. being a machineist and trying to make dogbones isnt very easy. this is how they make dogbones they use a shaft thats not turned on a lathe and the ball at the end is just a ball bearing they grind a small flat at the end of the ball and then they drill a hole and press the shaft in and electricly FUSE (weld) it then they heat treat it. then they drill holes for the pins and press the pins in. thats pretty much it. actually its easy just hard to find some 1 to fuse them and heat treat them for cheap.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
stay away from the supercharger waste of money if i were you i would just keep everything the way it is and if your totaly sure your gonna stay with the hobby save the money and buy a bigger better truck try out the MT class i did and it makes bashing way more fun. if your looking for some cheap power for the vx or the SH try diferent pipes and get a tubed header if you dont have 1 all ready try the motor saver brand air filter setup youll notice an increase in revs with the motor saver even try a medium glow plug you can lean it ous bit more with a medium plug try the aluminum clutch shoes or try 1 of the 3 shoe clutch mods the super charger adds weight and eats fuel and its belt drivin off your motor so your actually putting more load on it. you could also port and polish your motor talk to emeinent about that.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
the front and rear diffs are the same when your stuck in FWD your tires should just spin spin and spin 3 reasons 1.not much weight in the front 2. the tranny is setup for the load of 4wd 3.you now pulling the truck rather then pushing the truck . so it is possible to make it RWD only id change my tranny ratios tires and motor tuning now youll have less load on the motor and it will rev higher and faster causing overheating. if your looking for great prices on parts and always instock try www.rufaster.com i got all my nami parts from this guy and fast mostly 1 dollar s/h.
