Battery/Charger Question
I have a duratrax intellipeak charger that is rated at 4-8cell output, I was thinking of buying a 9cell 4700 pack from maxamps as it is the closest thing to lipo in my price range and, I was wondering. What would be the problem with charging a 9cell battery with a 8cell charger other than it says not to..If there is no problem then I will go ahead and, get the pack but, if there is then i'll just go with the 8cell.

RE: First road car - by Lunchboxer..
Quick question, the only motor/esc system I have laying around is a Vxl system. I know it's the right size but, should it fit in as far as mounting with no issues?

Will this work?
I'm the new owner of a Tamiya tb-02d and, I'm very pleased with it. The only draw back is that I want a little more power, nothing crazy but, just more zip than the stock motor. So, I was thinking I could use the vxl system out of my rustler but, I don't really want to go back and forth between systems. I could buy a new sidewinder 5700kv combo it'll have the power but, I don't want to spend over $100 dollars really.. So I think i'm gonig to do this if it will work, I'm going to use an airplane motor that is the same size as a 540 can motor this is the motor, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLWZ7&P=7 it's only slightly lower Kv than the velineon motor so, it should give similar performance right? And I'm going to use the castle sidewinder esc. Will the motor and esc work together? What problems will I have? How will performance be on 6 cells? Also! will this body http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBTY1&P=7 fit on the TT-01?

RE: Need help choosing ESC for Rustler
If they are the ones from the motor you can move the esc to stop the problem that's what I did.

I'm lost as to what connectors these are. Are they the ones from the motor to the esc, or which ones?

Also, I would invest money in to a battery and, a good charger because a battery is only as good as the charger...Here's a link to buy it and, at $130 it's a great deal.. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHDJ1&P=ML

RE: Going brushless
From the stats the hacker is the best motor, i've only had experiance with the ammo motors and, at 25$ that 4850 is a great deal. The 4850 would be perfect for just bashing around and, would run okay on the 6 cells but, like I said the hacker is better on paper but, i've had no real life experiance with it..

RE: Ceramic clutch bearings...Are they worth it?
Well, you might see a difference but, it's mainly noticable on electrics where you see a significant increase in run times with better bearings.

RE: Ceramic clutch bearings...Are they worth it?
Ceramic bearings ARE better in performence and life, they only make a real difference if you use them where there is alot of rotating mass. It wouldn't make much of a difference at all in the engine..
