Thanks For Your Service To Our Country
I wanted to take a moment to thank the Veterans of this countries Armed Services. My Grandfathers both served in WWII. I am very proud of them. I was unable to tell them because they passed when I was at a young age. Before I was aware of the significance. Today I called Dave, ( he used to ferry new P-38's to the front line) and thanked him. I tried to thank him with heart like I wish I could thank my grandfathers right now. THANK YOU ALL for we would not be the same if it weren't for your sacrifice

RE: Brison 3.2-H9 Cap 80"-RTF but.....
You want to use a 20x10 prop mejlik or schimitar design. 22x10 is ok but tends to brake the plane too much on landing. Mine also tends to over heat if out door temp and humidity are high. The bonus of the 22x10 is the plane will fly lower stall speed and torque rolls very easy.

RE: Gun Camera Fantastic
I thought it was great. You may want to add a split screen of the plane from the ground.

RE: Solar Flares, Don't fly
If there is a solar flare between you and the airplane you have bigger worries than the plane. [:)]

Brian, Very nice job. The amount of black may make it difficult to see plane attitude. This will become evident on cloudy days or even if you fly on sunny days depending on the angle of the sun in relation to the planes attitude. Be sure to make it a consideration in your next scheme. Please take this as constructive criticism. :D It really looks good. Rich

Erling , very nice looking plane. You didn't tell us how it flew. What is the weight w/G38? Michael, Triangles cut from lite ply can be glued to support the sevo tray. Make the length of side A the length of the tray. Side B will be the lenght from the tray to almost the rib top. IThis will give you the abilty to support the whole tray and avoid any "tray torque" from a high pwr, high speed servos. I hope I have explained it well. You can picture a shelve turned upside down with light ply triangles, make them as big as you can. The weight is nothing. Rich

Smoke
Jason, Can you explain what you mean by the side of the plane for mounting? You should try to get the smoke system on the c.g. if possible. This way you don't change the c.g. With a full tank of smoke fuel. The coolest systems I have seen are removable. Lets see some pictures. Rich

With cost of the Pending war with Iraq estimates running upward of $20Billion. Considering the Republicans want to preserve the tax cuts, how do we pay for this war? The answer seems obvious to me.

Ed, As usual another good looking plane. Are you the only one claiming credit or is kyle involved. Just want to give credit where credit is due. Those are quite a few squares I just don't have the patients to cut out all the squares. and keeping the sections together for application. Wow! very impressive. Is the underside also checkered? Rich

The ceiling tile is the surface for building this plane. I was so disappointed in how the wing went together. I left it in the bones hanging with the ceiling tile. The wing jig is $h&*76 t. The wing-in- fuse design is old school. Pass!!!!!!!!!! I'll sell this at toledo. Rich

I think with the 22x10 it spins 6800 to 69 if I remember correctly. I originally had on a 20x10 and running 7400 but 7000 seems more appealing. I do use a scimitar design menz which may account for the higher rpm I describe. I have a few inches of snow on the ground. I want to get out and fly or fish. I'm getting tired of looking at my planes and not flying. Rich :boxing:

The radio tray with a little extra support is the best location. Need pictures let me know. Rich

Midwest Extra 300
Curt, The Midwest Extra 300s has the same "BEGINNING" balance point as the foiled tail Extra 300XS. Start flying the plane with the balance point of 5 7/8" from the leading edge of the wing, at the fuse. I have found no deviation nesesary. You may want to try 3D. You can move the CG back. I have flown the aircraft with a Brison 3.2 as well as the Saito 300 Twin. Both of these plane balanced with no lead. If I can help any further let me know. Rich

Brison 3.2
What you need to do now is get rid of the mechanical advance and go with a C&H ignition. It is truly a good upgrade for this motor. Many reasons for that comment; one of which is the Teflon ring is seldom perfectly round. If you fly in cold temps the ring and engine casing will expand and contract from the basement to outside. Outside in cold temps the ring tends to bind. Also use lock tight everywhere, on the plane, servos, and the bell crank for the throttle. If using a Bison muffler, check the flange area every 15 flights for stress cracking. I have lost three mufflers. At one time the manufacturer suggested a support strap around the can mounted to the fire wall. this engine is a shaker don't kid yourself. You need to really batten down the hatches because the performance of this moor is fantastic. When broken in, starts on the first flip after a flight. Rich

Midwest Extra 300xs
The Extra is not ment to be an 3-d aircraft. I know that just opened a can of worms, but its the truth. The wing tube hole problem can be fixed using the cardboard tube used for wire routing in the wing. Before the wing is finished put it under the plate covering the hole. Need a Pic? Rich

Midwest Extra 300xs
Jason, The Midwest canopy will tint but not very dark and it takes quite a while. You have to be carefull of the water temp so it doesn't warp the canopy. The best I have seen is from the car guys. They always tint the windows. Check with RCUNIVERSE car guys. DON"T TELL THEM ITS FOR A PLANE THEY"LL EAT YOU UP> THEY ARE ANIMALS!!!! This plane has a tinted canopy. It looks great from near or far. Stand offs
Falcons I would use a 3/4 in dowel and cut the 1/2 inch length with a radialarm saw or miter box. It beats lamination of aircraft ply. Check the 1/2 in. measure twice but I think thats correct. Use the plans. Rich
