RE: Seagull Super Tucano
ok will keep 15x12 speed in mind on landing sounds like i could land it at idle tickover maybe?! Yes a seperate pack might help with 'noise' if it doesnt you may need to think about repositioning the ignition unit and RX as far away as poss When you use flaps did it push nose up or down? Need to think about putting in some up/down elevator if so....

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Hi Ceecrb1, Apologies for delay, I have been putting some final touches to the Tucano and hoping to maiden this Saturday! The weather hasn't been that great in the UK but looking much better this weekend I've tested the retracts with the engine running and all seemed ok. Is the front wheel not retracting? Also - just before my maiden takes place did you find that the CG in manual works ok for you? Attached of few pics this time for you. 15x12 prop still waiting to go on, need to cut spinner slightly. Have you flown yours more with 15x12 yet?

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
neither did I until my hobby shop guy told me! It definately something to keep aware of and I don't want to have to worry about not going full power due to engine limitations APC also do a crazy 15x13 (narrow version) http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&q=apc+15x13&gs_upl=2297l2625l0l2906l2l2l0l0l0l0l219l422l2-2l2l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1152&bih=703&wrapid=tlif132708120660010&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2715845125419252759&sa=X&ei=-qYZT7SPCMqk8gPF5MXDCw&ved=0CEUQ8wIwAg# Or this one is nice if you go 3blade http://www.sloughrc.com/default.asp?WPG=SRCM_HomePage1&itemid=E-LP3-15135

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
I've been looking at the prop issue and whilst I would love to get a 3blade it is too much hassle (only metal 3blade spinner around this size) My solution is to go with an APC 15x12 2blade - RPM's should be around the 8000 mark so not near max at all :) This thing is gonna fly quick!

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Hi Ceecrb1, I am thinking of the going with a JTEC compact wraparound pitts to save chopping up the cowl for the stock DLE20 muffler. Do you think something like this would fit in there? JTEC also offer one with a 1/2inch header if thats better? Just didnt want to commit to buy if it wouldnt fit at all! Thank you for all your assitance

RE: ESM T-28
Hi chaps, I maidened my Trojan weekend just gone (DLE55) and it flew like a beauty! Still need a little more nose weight 5/6oz but it seems really nicely balanced out - dont need to full throttle it around all the time :) **NEWS** Thought I would make you guys aware that I'm speaking directly with Kelvin at Keleo Creations and after a few weeks of discussion and (begging!) he has decided that due to the popularity of the ESM T28 he will fully design and start producing scale exhausts systems for the ESM T28 - very very good news http://www.keleo-creations.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=70 - watch this space! I think the product should be released fully by Feb/Mar 2012

haha thats crazy! Lady luck was looking down on you today! You mentioned about the fuel tubing on the wheels is this to create more friction to slow it down on the runway? Yes was wondering if the ordanance would make a difference. Where you happy with how the Eflites performed? No problems i hope...

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
ORIGINAL: nefariousrc Great build but that 15x8 prop is to small..  Even a 15x10 unloads enough in the air to put you over 9k.  If you absolutely must run a 15" prop then you should go to a 3 blade to load the DLE 20 more.
Hi nefariousrc, welcome to the thread!Do you have any data on the DLE20 with 15x8 or 15x10 props please?Did you have an experience with this?DLE themselves have said a 15x8 would work. I can't imagine they would recommend if it could over-rev or blow DLE

Pics looking great. Your work is very neat i must say! Are you running two separate Batt packs for servos and ignition? What size packs did you use for each? Looking great now it's just what to do with those strange looking pilots!

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Ok so standard 7 servo setup + 1extra for nose steering setup. Does the elevator come with a double pushrod system? I felt the DLE will definately put more G's through the plane. What do you think? Sorry yes going replace with a Dubro tank 10 or 12oz depending on what fits!

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Just looked your right the DLE site does say 15x8. Would be keen to hear your thoughts once you run it... I forget sometime how much more fuel effecient petrol is. I like the bung on petrol tanks to be super tight so probably will replace with a dubro Is there much room for nosewheel steering pull-pull system? How many servos in total does the kit require please? (minus gear servo if go with EFlites )

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Thanks for quick response ceecrb1 I may try a 15x10 with it and see what the rpm's come out. May be touching rev limit on a 15x8 but I will check? 11oz tank is small! but I guess the fuz is quite narrow also. I was thinking at least a 20oz. Yeah I was thinking making a hole in the firewall for DLE. Was this for the rear carb to fit? Are you using the stock muffler with the DLE? I'm guessing that the stock muffler wont fit inside the cowl? Maybe a nice pitts... I am still wating for mine to be delivered so am still drowling over your pics haha

RE: Seagull Super Tucano
Subscribed! Pure coincidence I purchased this kit yesterday and am also going with the same setup DLE20, EFlites etc. Know what you mean about the red spinner... does seem strange? . Maybe Seagull had a few thousand left over from another kit Had a good read through your post and had a few initial questions if you can help.... 1. Wing Tube - Did you possibly think about replacing this tube at all? Would a carbon tube work just as well and without the weight? 3. DLE - DLE20 runs a 16" prop is there enough height clearance with EFlite struts? 4. Fuel Tank - Are you going to replace the tank with a gas version? I'm thinking of going with a dubro. Any ideas on what size would fit? 5. Undercarriage - Any more tips on mounting the EFlites? Did you mean the mounting blocks should be epoxied first? 5. Total Weight - Any indication on your total weight with everythnig fitted would be really good to know :) Looking forward to seeing more of your posts and pics! I hope to be posting pics here also soon All the best, Ryan

RE: ESM T-28
Hi guys, I have to admit this is one of the best threads I’ve ever come across with most, if not all issues being resolved and shared . I have been making notes whilst trawling through the 40odd pages and have a few important questions regarding the build before I commence. Apologies in advance if I’m repeating anything already mentioned I may just have missed it. I hope some of you are able to assist 1. *Incidence* - There seems to be lots of views on the model incidence and a few have mentioned their view on a fix for this. Have you all come to the agreement that this is just how the model flies and dealt with it through various trim settings/adding weight etc etc. 2. *ESM Retracts* - Unfortunately my budget didn’t stretch as far as the Sierras but if anyone has any tips on the ESM retracts whether it be beefing up the mounts or 3. *Elevator Fins* - I will be adding more aluminum or carbon rods through the stabs as I am running a DLE55 on her 4. *ESM Doors on ESM Retracts* - Will I have any problems using the stock doors on the ESM retracts? 5. *Fuel tank* - I am running the T28 on a DLE55 and have been advised to swap the stock tank for a 24oz tank. Any views on this? 6. *Prop Question* - If running a DLE55 what 3 blade have you found to be the best size? 7. *Prop Question* - Have any of you DLE55 guys tested different size 3 blade props? I am keen get lots of thrust for nice climb outs. Does anyone have a good size in mind for this? 8. *Prop Question* - Another question for the DLE55 guys. Have you tested both a 2blade and 3blade? Did you find the model speed very different? 9. *Surfaces* - I will be replacing all of the hinges with Robart 3/16 hinges 10. *Dummy Engine* - Can anyone suggest a nice dummy engine to mount inside the cowl? I think someone mentioned one the Williams at Tower Hobbies they used - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXADKE&P=ML Did anyone use any others makes? And is it ok to use these? Will engine potentially overheat? If I do use shall I cut cowls vents to provide airflow? Think that’s about it Many thanks Ryan T28 Addict

Hi Navyt28, I am based in the UK and am about the commence building my Trojan. I also have the ESM stock dome spinner but may I ask where you purchased your prop please? Which size? And which engine are you running your t28 on please? Thanks Ryan
ORIGINAL: navyt28 hallo, drifter I received the Info from my distributor in Austria. The Model will be aviable mid- Oktober. The current ESM cowl air intake shows a "A" model type , but the stainless exhaust deflector for three pipes shows a "B" version. The air intake of the T-28B is a size larger. The fotos shows the difference. Franz
Hi there guys, greetings from the UK I have made my purchase for the T28 and can't wait to get started on her I have a DLE55 going up front and have decided to opt for the ESM retracts I have just a few questions for you if you don't mind helping? 1. Any problems with the ESM CoG point. is it about right? 2. Did you come across any problems in the build at all? 3. Any general tip/tricks that you could offer for this kit? 4. Does anyone feel like the stock fuel tank is adequately large enough or would you recommend maybe increase size of tank? 5. I am hoping the ESM retracts go in ok but did anyone have any problems fitting? Hope you can help, Ryan<! / message >
