RE: 2M Monolog Build
U should consider reinforcing the LG plate prior to flying, especially if your flying off grass. Mine tore out today. Landing wasn't that bad.

RE: Batteries running-in and swollen batteries
I use an old actro outrunner I don't fly any longer mounted to my bench with a small prop. Hook up my hyperion logger and run it through my laptop in real time mode. That way I know what amps are being pulled, voltage, and mah out. I only do it a couple times as I don't have the patience, and then go fly just not using any extended wot for a couple flights.

RE: Questions from first time pattern electric
It's not faster charging because of whether its 12 or 24V. Its the wattage each charger is rated at that makes it faster or slower. If you want to charge in series then the pl8 or 6 isn't for you. It wasn't designed to be used as a 10 cell charger.

RE: Questions from first time pattern electric
Since your charging in parallel you'll only see 5 cells, thus IR ratings for just the 5 cells. Each cell is in parallel with the other paks cell. I've always thought that IR readings were highly over rated in my opinion.

RE: 21x14 or 20x13???
I use 3 different flight modes for various maneuvers. My throttle atvs vary between flight modes. Amps max out around 70. Sometimes up to 80 depends on how hard I get into the throttle. Masters I average around 3600mah, 4000mah on windier days. I don't really care what the amps drawn are, as long as I'm not burning up the batts by the end of the flight. I'll rephrase that: As long as the amps are within my system perameters I don't care what the max amps are.

RE: 21x14 or 20x13???
I've got pretty much all the different diameter and pitch props, and I prefer the higher kv motors with the larger diameter and less pitch. Actually the one I always end up going back to is the 22x12 on 220kv. In all but the heaviest winds I prefer this prop. Gets more of a constant speed, at the end of the sequence has enough thrust to pull through the radius on top, downlines I don't use any breaking. Real heavy wind I'll use the 21x13.5. I just don't like the high pitch props. The axi at 235kv I used 22x11. 20" props I don't like at all.

RE: ys175
I watched the ys flyers at the nats and this last weekend at one of our local contests. I'm impressed by these motors. Being as they were parked beside me in the pits got to talking with a couple of them and their setups. 170's on glow. One guy was running an 18x10 on wildcat 4 stroke fuel. Thought it was a little under propped, but the power in the air was amazing. Other guy was running 30% cool power. Looked to be easy starting and the vibrations at idle looked good.

I'd wager the vast majority of guys flying electric have a ys background. Me, I could care less which someone runs.

RE: NATS 2012 : Let the journey begin!
Always amazes me how you can go all summer without any problems and right before the nats all hell starts to break loose. I just had a batt ejection through the canopy, only had 16 cycles on the set and its lost in the corn somewhere, canopy looks like crap now, but will have to do. First time I've ever had it happen. Nats is a perseverence event.

RE: Nuance
I fly off a pretty rough field at times, so this is a concern for me. Only nuance I've seen fly off grass almost did a nose over on a pretty decent field.

RE: hyperion 720i with Parallel charging board
You can parallel charge with any charger with the right connectors. You just need to have a power supply and power source large enough to handle your needs.

RE: Which Battery Charger to buy
If you think about it, its less expensive to buy the least # of pks, and charge faster. I only use 2 sets of the f3a unlimited and can fly constantly charging @ 3C. I'd think your batts would be deteriorating more over time than charge rate, but to each his own.

Got any pics of the batts installed? How hard is it to reach them, the fuse just seems a little deep and narrow at that point looking at it. Your givng me the urge to build again, been a long time and your kit looks very impressive. Are you using just normal ca on all the ply parts?
