RE: New DLE 35
sounds good chap but your forgeting many things? what ever happen to wind drag and the load on the engine. due to the weight of the aircraft plus the speed of the aircraft . and who said anything abour baro. pressure? so your saying that a engine turns the same rpms on the ground as it does in a 100 mph. in a dive WRONG ! you.run your engines lean and see what happens when they suddenly lock up.

RE: New DLE 35
as far as tuning get engine running let run about 10 mins then open throttle wide open and ajust high end first to max rpms like a glow engine. once you start leaning out engine it will start slowing down, then backup screw it max rpms are back then richen it abot to a 200 rpm drop rich side your done with that. then idle down to about 1700 and wait 5 sec, gag throttle open if engine stalls or hesitates its to lean on the low end ONLY turn screw open the same with of the screwdrive slot at a time. folks have a habit of turning screws to much they are very senstive.... repeat till engine has no hesitation or stumble form idle to wide open no matter how fast tyou gag it and your set , under any reason NEVER I REPEAT NEVER force screws tight all the way closed if your wainting to reset to factory setting. if you do go ahead and order your self another carb cause you just runnied that one ... good luck and happy flying

RE: New DLE 35
One would think by the time you get to level in this hobby. a prop would be the least of the exp.$ and besides id never trust a nylon apc on a big engine why distroy yourself and the airplane when is either breaks or comes off at you. thats why they have all those bolts holding it on the hub to start with.? Have you ever seen a prop shatter not very cool... im not talking crap just giveing the facts

RE: New DLE 35
good luck jeffro treats everybody like a moren what kind of fuel what kind of battery ect. ect. i finally told him do you think i would spend all this money in freight over a battery i could of brought 2 battery id payed in freight. the truth of the matter is the pte is a piece of crap. i waited almost a mo. had plane ready to go except, a engine the plane was a g.planes edge 540 the dle 55 worked out perfect for that plane .well good luck dealing with that guy in fla. is like pulling teeth also im sure you heard your the first person thats had a proublem with this engine. id proubly say that too if i had a stk. pile of them in stk. lol... do your self a favor and talk to customer service a trade it in for a dle or something other that a pte. p.s. if you read the forms on the pte most of the guys said the muffler fell apart on there first flight or on the test stand

RE: New DLE 35
I don't know about anybody else who has brought a pte 36 -r but it is junk. wont run long ehough to test anything the ign.box is junk and several people iv spoke to who have brought that engine all had bad proublems as well... had the engine on break in stand and ran about 10 mins. after30 mins finally got it started was leaking fuel somewere around the reed valve area then the engine would just quit running. like you cut it off . at 3000 rpms send motor back to troy built waited 2 weeks .there mach Jeff. said engine was perfect said he ran engine all day with no proublem. which was a lie i got engine back from them at my shipping cost to and from abot $35.00 bucks. started ran about 3 mins. same proublem. finally sent engine back and got a store credit. customer service was great talked to bill and traded the engine in on a dle-55. when the pte was running it did make good power about 500 rpms more than a dle-30 prop for prop. anyway just whated to let you know don't rate the pte- 36- r to anything. its a good looking motor but has alot of issues! i hope the dle isn't a clone of that hunk of scrap metal the dle 35 should turn a 20x6 with no proublem. i would guess.. the only thing i have found with dle engines is the timing is almost always off by 3-6 degs. advanced iv cked all there engines and from the 111 to the 30 are all out. of specs. setting the timing makes the engine run alot better a good idle, smoother, less vibration ,. hope this will help some folks out there?

RE: New DLE 35
Didn't the motor come with a prop guide should give you a starting point. its not going to turn much more than a dle 30 to start with prop for prop proubly is going to twist the same prop like a 19x8 about 500rpms faster if it was on a dle-30 thats it !

RE: Pilot 260 balance problem
OK GUYS fixed the extra 260 26% cg needs to be between 120 and 125mm flys alot better will at least land in a decent also im not running a pipe on this dle- 30. theres a hole in the fire wall 3x 6 in.s that lets all the air from the cowl go into the fuselage blocked that off and added a scoop to bottom of cowl. so air can vent from cowl not into the plane .they should of had a manual for this plane, by moving the batterys forward it took 12in's to find that c.g. batterys are up all the way to f-1 the firewall.im running 2. - 6 volt AA nimh packs hope this helps the next guy that builds this aircraft if you set C.G. at 144 mm will proubly be your first and last flight way to tail heavy .... hope this helps

ya sure have nothing but trouble from the first start up took for ever to get started #1 Ign. box killed a 1500 ma. nimh in about 20 mins #2 then engine started cutting off for no reason looseing spark form idle or up to 3500 rpm. #3 then noticed fuel leaking between carb. and reed valve assy. #4 the only good thing i can say is at wide open throttle the motor did make good power. do yourself a favor and don't buy one get a DLE

RE: NEW GP Eagle 580 Matt Chapman GP/EP ARF
The matt chapman580 53 is a great airplane. no hidden surprises iv got a saito fa-91 4 stroke with a 14x6 prop on mine had to change motor mount the one that came with the plane was to weak for the saito-91 it fit but after first flight started to break . replace with alum.mount buy changeing mount . took the lead out of the nose.with the stk. mount it took 2 oz. of lead to bal .it was tail heavy. bal. at 3 3/4 flys perfect also needs more elevator on low setting. iv got rates set to high all the way around with 20% expo.on alerons only. she is a very sharp airplane and a looker. flys real well inverted for a cap. landing are very stable and with enough elevator she lands like a kitten . it 's a plane that has to be flown to the runway . then slowly idle down and she. makes a soft landing with enough elavator feed .have not seen any stall proublems. i rate this air plane as a 10 + it's not a trainer. not a good plane for a beginner. anyway im thinking of getting the big one with a dle -100. have fun guys see ya at the field
