You know how racin is sometimes you do sometimes you don't, anything can happen........... Still love the shot of my MT jumpin over the green MT. Last time I did that was 09 Diggers Dungeon when I timed the back jump perfect and went right over Scott P's MCD.. Great times

RE: heard lots of bad stuff about Redcat....BUT
ORIGINAL: nitrosportsandrunner does anyone know for certain who manufactures redcat's models? I know some think its HSP, and that may be. But it seems odd to me that if HSP made redcat's line that they dont sell many of the models themselves. They have their own line, and some are simillar to redcat's but then they have ones redcat doesnt....and redcat has ones that HSP doesnt. I could be wrong, but I have wondered if Redcat has more than 1 supplier. IE, do they get their 1/5 scale from a different source than the rest of their line?
Redcat has a few manf. HSP is mainly for the 1/5 scales if I recall.

RE: heard lots of bad stuff about Redcat....BUT
. Foxy,I was thinkin you were gonna be an ok person coming back, what's with the attitude. You are a Moderater to police the forum, not to instagate BS.. To clear up a few things, from my understanding HSP makes the product, so don't compare Redcat to Himoto. They may look the same but different distributors put in their own values to what gets used for this and that. Redcat has stepped up a few things, that others may have not,if you owned one you would know this in your (years of exp in gas cars) Now as for top notch cars, no such thing. They all have two things in common. All RC cars break, they all come from across seas. (exception on Associated) now if everyone would just drive their cars to enjoy the hobby instead of who's &!*%'s bigger, we all might get along. Don't Hate, Appreciate.

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread

RE: Official Losi 26cc 5IVE-T Thread
Torque effect as some call it, is the reason you can take a nitro and float it through the air by on and off the throttle. unlike some 1/5 scales the way the engine is mounted it rotates opposite which counters the wheel rotation causing a somewhat neutral but uncontrollable reaction. the torque issue foxy is talking about, I understand from owning my 1/5 scales, plus drag racing. It does have a name but everyone calls it something different. I call it launch control. some launch to the right which most of mine do, and some launch to the left. so you stiffen the right spring and send your power to the left, to balance it. do the opposite if it pulls to the left.

RE: Is a redcat xt as good and durable as an hpi baja 5b
then what's hpi's excuse? awful lot of upgrades if the car is so perfect, every car has an issue they are all gonna break. who cares how much they cost. why should the cost be a detour of who should buy what? If you don't like a low cost car don't buy it, but don't be hatin when a low end car blows by your high end car on the track........................ If you race and can't finish because of a certain part won't hold up, then complain to the factory. if you are just a basher, then bash on your car, and not on here about others cars........

with Redcat you won't have to worry about diff oil in the center since it is a solid shaft.

RE: Redcat XB VS Baja?
ORIGINAL: bbuzzard uh $500 vs $900 buggy? Is that even a fair comparison? Also, the Baja has been around how long? Long enough that the clones are even good, hehehe! Since I have both, I can tell ya'll that in track race, the XB will win...the 4WD and light weight makes it a contender!!
I'll second this as for I race my XB, heck for that fact my MT with 5b wheels and tires on it plus alot heavier outruns a Baja on the oval......

RE: 1/5 scale racing
ORIGINAL: 46 Not only keep an eye on your wheel bearings but the rear diff input shaft bearings. Keep us posted and have fun.
out of 1000 sold only 3 have torn out a diff case, and 2 of them were mine. there's not a probable cause for why it has happened. the bearings are ok it's just the case that has broke. my XB has had no issues, only my XT prototype, but it gets abused very often. I've beat on both of these for a little over a year now.

RE: RedCat XB
ORIGINAL: Foxy
ORIGINAL: 46u Seems a lot of the higher end buggies are 25 or more pounds. The reason I started in large scale with the 5b SS was I have been running HPI vehicles for 10 or 15 years and always got great customer service. All so parts are easy to get and well supported by the after market. I will say with all I have in my 5b SS I could have bought and built a higher end 4 wheel drive buggy. If it where not for my situation I would like to get a MCD RR V4 instead of the XB. Right now just hoping I can swing the XB. LOL
May I suggest that this may not be the best approach. If what you really want is a European race car, getting another pseudo chinese middle of the road brand will leave you even more frustrated, having 2 vehicles you don't really want. Personally, I agree with you. The 5b is great for what it is, but it's certainly not what it's cracked up to be. It is to 5th scale buggy racing what the savage is to MT racing. A great basher, but poor track performer. I can't comment on the Rampages, having never owned one, but I am confident it will need a lot of $$ into it to be competitive with the MCD, which is only right, being as the MCD is what, triple the price? Every time I've thought I'd get a low budget car and upgrade it, I've always regretted it, and everytime I've bitten the bullet, dusted off the wallet and bought the best straight off the shelf, I've been very satisfied. Save those pennies, sell that 5b, and get an Elcon or an MCD.
sorry foxy but I have to disagree to an extent, yeah buying a lowend car may be an issue, but I still don't have the amount of money in my redcat that it would cost for a higher end car and I'm 100% competitive with highend cars.

can you put your redcat mt next to it, cause i know the mcd ford body is small. the hurrax doesn't look all that big, maybe just a oversized truck body and a little bigger wheel, but wheel base and track look to be the same.
