RE: B-26 Marauder scratchbuild electric build thread
Looking good. The b-26 is certainly overshadowed by the b-25 so its nice to see one come together. Whats the wing span on it?

RE: 1/5 Predator b build
Nice, RC plane of a RC plane. Are you going electric or glow? What's the wingspan going to be?

RE: Top Flite P-47 Stab Directions
The beveling is so that the LE is flush against the ribs (see pic). I'm not sure what you meant by "sand the fronts of the ribs...top and bottom to match the whole rib".

RE: Tower fuel prices?
Wait a minute, I heard that the shortage was due to a chinese factory being shut down for the olympics. If that is true, then production should be back to normal soon and prices should fall back to normal. If it isn't true and 30% heli fuel is going to keep costing $50-75 a gallon, then I'm going to have to re-evaluate my ability to stay in the hobby. I ran out of 30% a few days ago and have been waiting for prices to fall before running out to the LHS. Just flying airplanes and electrics in the mean time. Rob

RE: Raptor 50 servo's
On my rap 50, I have a futaba 9202 on the throttle. For the cyclic I have 9252's and the tail has a 9254 on it. I also have a huge Duralite battery for power since digital's use more juice. Rob

TF P-47 60 Rudder linkage
I'm currently building one of these and just finally hooked up the rudder pushrods. I've been following the manual so I finally snapped on the ball link last and when I was testing out the system, there seemed to be more resistance than usual. Has anyone else whos built this plane encountered this? I'm not sure of where its coming in from. It is strongest when the tail wheel would be in its neutral position so I imagine that the push rod is being forced to one side since thats when the arm throws it out of line the most. Any suggestions or experiences with this? Thanks, Rob

I'm hopefully going to get my .60 top flite p-47 framed up and sheeted over this winter. Started it over the summer and now have the top of the fuselage done and am framing up the bottom. Rob

RE: Corsair kit build. How long would it take?
I think you have to decide wiether or not you will enjoy building the plane. Wiether or not the build takes forever is really up to how you approach the project. If you have a lot of free time and want to devote it to building, then it wont take long for a plane to form. If its more of a chore to build then chances are that its going to drag out. I tend to drag out parts of building like sanding and covering but frame up the airframe in no time. Good luck Rob

winter storage
I bought my first nitro bird in may and now winter is coming. What sorts of things do I need to do to store this bird till next april? I always use a blade holder when I'm not at the field. Do I need to put afterrun oil in the engine? I'll also be cycling the batteries. Do helis required anything different than airplanes? Thanks, Rob

RE: Why do so many newbie's want electric????
I had several reasons for starting out with a Blade CP. I had been doing glow planes for a few years and wanted to just try out a heli. I had a 6chn airplane radio that didn't have heli mixing. The thought of assembling a helicopter can be intimidating. With the blade, the initial cost for everything is comparable to a raptor kit. Really it was the initial investment that drove me to the electric route. That was a big factor since I wasn't sure it was something I really would like. I currently fly a raptor 50 but don't regret starting out on the blade. When I flew a raptor for the first time, it was very easy compared to hovering the blade around. I still fly the blade around the apartment and with winter coming soon, it'll be the only thing I can fly. The industry is really pushing the smaller electric stuff. Its probably a good way to get people into the hobby as well. Rob

50v2 crash, titan upgrade time?
I recently crashed my R50v2 when a tail servo support came lose and locked up my tail. It piroquetted into the corn and suffered some damage. The tail boom is bent along with the supports and so is the flybar. Since I'm going to have to replace them, would this be a good time to upgrade it to a titan? Is it worth it to do so? It has a non-hyper os engine in it so maybe I would have to replace that too since the titan has the longer boom to compensate for torque? Any advice ? Thanks, Rob

RE: Mini FuntanaX and 25A esc
I figured that would be the case. I guess I'll have to look around for a more sutable plane or ask for a refund instead.

Mini FuntanaX and 25A esc
I know it says 40A but here is my situation. I have a 25A brushless esc and a set of servos from a crashed Typhoon that are looking for a plane so I went to the LHS and bought an old yellow mini funtana. When I unpacked it, one of the wings was crushed so I took it back to the store. The manager said he could get me anouther one but he called me today and told me he couldn't. He has a mini-funtanaX though. What should I do? I suspect a 25A wont be worth it even if its able to fly it. Quick answers are appriciated since the manager will be there tommarow (fri) and I'd rather talk with him directly. thanks, Rob

Here are some more interior detail pictures. The one of the window is the window for the waist guns. It got stowed above the gunners. In one of the first batch of photos, one of them shows the area under the cockpit to get to the nose section.

RE: Wings of Freedom tour pics
It certainly was a great experience just seeing them. Its the only time I've ever seen a b-24 in person. I walked through it twice. Just walking through makes you appreciate what it must have been like for the guys back in WWII. It must be incredible to take a ride in it. Bring a camera if you go. [:D] Rob

The tour was at DuPage airport this weekend so I took tons of pics. Maybe next year I'll set aside some funds to take a ride.
