RE: common spare parts for walkera 60b
Spare parts... You can do what I used to do and keep one spare everything and two spares of others, LOL... But seriously, if you want to keep some useful parts on hand I suggest you keep main shafts, feathering shafts and blades on hand. In the event of almost any blade strike you will most likely bend both shafts and break a blade. A spare flybar is always good to have on hand and it never hurts to have a spare servo or two because the stock servos are known for being a bit frail. If your totally new to flying I suggest you check out Radd's School of Rotary Flight because it may save you a few bucks and parts http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html Also have a look here- http://rcfriends.createforum.com/walkera-help-guides-f118/ at the Beginners Guide and Useful Links. The Beginners Guide is by far the best resource for starting out with the 60. Good Luck, Rob.

RE: Used Heli's...
I purchased a bare bones used Trex 450SE V1.5 here about a year ago and at the same time got a Futaba 6EX 2.4Ghz radio... Both work great to this day, and once I added my electronics the 450 flew great and still dose. I also bought a Venom Pro charger a few months ago and it too works great. My only suggestion with buying used is, first do what home work you can on the product and seller. Second, it would be best to have some experience wrenching on helis prior to buying used because as with buying anything used it may need some work. My experiences buying use here have been great but I'm sure not every ones is so good luck. Regards, Rob.

RE: Messed up gyro
Commonly if you look at the adjustment pot for the gyro you will notice the outside edge of the screw has one flat spot on it... Looking at the screw turn the flat spot to about the 10 or 11 o'clock position and it should work fine for you. Also the 4in1 receiver on some of the 4#3Bs is loose fit and can cause the jumping you refer to... Try using a thin piece of tape or a small rubber band to hold the receiver down tight to it's mount and see if you still have the same trouble... Good Luck, Rob. P.S. RE: Compatable Parts For 60 WAlkera
Most parts from a 450 will direct fit to the 60. With a few obvious exception,,, like frame, main shaft and main gear. But fins, boom, tail, head (with some modification), servos, canopy, skids, etc, will fit. Blades for the 60 are a standard 288mm, and you can use up to 315mm. 325mm or longer will hit your tail rotor on a hard landing and mess some stuff up. Here's a few shots of my 60 when I had it and the Sonix 450 head and a few other mods... Yes you can as long as you have a brushless esc on the 60. Or use the esc from the 36 as well. Good luck, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 60
The 60 and 68 are very similar with the main differences being servo location and head design, but your canopy markings is what caught my eye, as they too differ form the 60. Most parts like the main gears are the same so you can order from either one but again assure you don't get the bevel, or helical gear. Hobby shops all over are as you discribe,,, I don't know why they do it either. But for future reference,,, just know what part you need when you go in and ask for it, (as in, I need a 12tooth 2.3mm pinion, instead of I need a pinion for this motor). But if your anything like me I don't want to force my buisness on any one. Commonly the stock settings on your esc should be fine for flying with the more advanced settings being used later in more precision flying and control. Lastly for the wires to change if your motor runs in reverse,,, it dosen't matter. Any of the two wires will change the direction. Good Luch and have fun, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 60
After reading soneebee's post and taking a closer look at your pictires... That's not a 60. It's a 68. Very similar, but the canopy markings, head design, and servo locations all tell me it's a 68-B. Regards, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 60
Go with the straight cut gear from the stock 60. Reason being,,, the helical (or beveled) pinoins for the main motor are VERY hard to find. Yes that dose appear to be a 36 (or 68) head on your 60. Can't say I have ever seen one like that on a 60 but truth be told it's a much better head than the one that normaly comes on the 60-B. Hope that helps, Rob.

RE: escape woes
ORIGINAL: Bungi Thanks Hans This heli is a trex clone. It is a Flasher 450 super 3D. Bought it to take when I went south. Flew great untill I had a minor mishap. Took out a few items plus a servo which I replaced. Would not spool up at all. Got a new ESC under warranty and replaced. Spooled up fine except motor is too hot. Got a new motor under warrenty but have not replaced it yet. If the motor gear is binding on the main gear how do I make it a little less tight???? I do appreciate your taking time to answer my questions. Regards Stu
I get the feeling there is more to this story, like the minor mishap and the few items, plus a servo and an esc, maybe a motor. Sound like a bit more than a minor mishap, so why don't you tell me a bit more about what happened and what you had to replace/repair. Also did the esc burn up when the heli went down and you didn't shut the throttle off right away??? Because that could be why the motor is running hot. You say it spooled up fine except motor is too hot. Is the motor too hot from just spooling up, or did you run it and fly it? Regards, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 60
Oh, sorry I was just assumeing you had a brushed version. The old brushed motors that burn out have the same size main shaft as is the nighthead shaft. Trick is to strip that shaft and use it for a knighthead shaft. But I guess you can't do that, lol. Some day your brushed tail will wear out,,, when it dose strip that shaft and use it. As a quick fix,,, the tail knighthead pin and canopy pin are the same size too. Some guys have found safety pins, drill bits or paper clips to fit,,, and then use heatshrink as a retainer... Any thing to get back in the air. I have the brushless now too. Keep a close eye on your battery connection. I had a slight drop in flight time and power and after a bit of checking I found that the battery connection is very poor. Good to see the ole 60 forum gettin used for somethin, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 60
JD, Do you have an old motor laying around (main or tail)? If so just strip the main shaft out of it and use it for your knighthead shaft. They are the exact same size and it will be the last one you ever break. Regards, Rob.

Could there be a special tail motor version for brushless? /Hans.
As I understand it, the tail motor used in the brushless version has stronger magnets. I heard somewhere that it is the same as the 4G3 tail motors. Haveing the collection you have I thiught maybe you could confirm or deny that for me? Regards, Rob.

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
joizeex looks like i might've ran my batteries to the ground. even after switching to brand new motor, the flight times are still shorter and heli doesn't have as much power. i wonder if it's because i haven't used them for a while, because i'm pretty sure that i never drain them below a safe minimum.
I had a wire go bad that caused me shortened flight times and low power. Don't you find it very strange that all your batteries would go bad at the same time??? You may want to look for a bad wire between the battery connection and the receiver. Regards, Rob.

After running several batteries through it, doing some adjusting and adding my skids I just can't say enough about this little bird. I'm very impressed with the power and stability. The tail holds up well even having the small rotor and heat form the motor is no longer an issue. After some creative trimming on the canopy and some wire rerouting I have it at a snug fit instead of tight. All in all,,, I like it....

HeliStyle, How is the BL motor doing on heat? And how about the esc dose it get warm at all? With all those wires crammed in under the canopy I'm wondering how that affects the air flow for cooling and how much extra heat is getting to the RX. Mine should be here any day now. Saturday will be two weeks and that's exectly how long it took to get my first one from Terence.
ORIGINAL: swivel_dick I have no clue if this has been addressed yet, but is there a way anyone has figured out yet to stop the flybar from clipping that little plastic piece on the mainframe that keeps the swashplate from rotating??? I'm getting sick of replacing frames!
I done this as a quick fix to get me by untill I got a new frame about two months ago and still haven't put the new frame on. I used an extra servo arm from a 450 and dremeled out the center and screwed it in between the srevo holder and the frame (think I used a small spacer to get the distance right). Looks good and works great. But I didn't break the original from the flybar hitting it,,, it was a nasty incident with a light fixture. koolaid, When you say you start to loose tail control,,, could you be more spacific about that discription? Is it drifting, wagging, or randomly jumping all over. JD, I agree with you. When I got mine (from ebay) the 60s were all over there. About every other heli was a 60 or 22 with some 36s strung through there too. Mine got me into the hobby and I had alot of fun with it, mostly working on it and learning because I spent WAY more time fixing it than I did flying it, LOL. Where did you order from? I ordered mine two saturdays ago from Terence @chinesejade and my first B from him took exactly 2 weeks, so should be here about saturday (depending on holiday/customs).
