RE: Hobby King turbine!
Last reason Bruce said why he hasn't run the engine is that he didn't have any multiplex connectors and the ones he got were junk. Sound like just another excuse to me. He's had the turbine for over a month now. With all the anticipation going on, it makes one wonder what the real reasons is why no review yet, problems?????? [8|]

RE: Banana Hobby Warning
I thought I was buying a high end edf jet and I still got turd. On the video of the plane flying,it looked like a solid performer and plenty of power. Boy what a surprise I got on take off. The plane would bearly climb out. I firmly believe the plane in the video was modified from it's stock configuration. Without stating this in the video, it amounts to fraud. I know some will say maybe your batteries were the problem and I say nay nay.45c batteries were more than was recommended. Anyways, they know for the most part the products they sell are subpar and ther customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

RE: Banana Hobby Warning
I had purchased a $500 mig from banana hobby and had a radio malfunction on the maidan flight.malfunction of the vectored thrust nozzles that put the plane in a roll that I could not recover from. Needless to say after the hours and hours trying to get some resolution, I got no where. I even tried to dispute it with my credit card company. With no resolution in sight, I decided to post a video on YouTube and I detailed the issues with this plane and duplicated it as well. I had also shown my turbine jets to show I was no newb to the hobby. Over 10,000 views and pages of bad comments aimed at banana hobby, they contacted me to give me a new mig if I would take down the video. They gave me a new plane, which I promptly sold, and I took down the video. With all said and done, the owner (Pete) had admitted to me that he'd experienced the same issue on the bench during assembly. BUYER BEWARE with this company !!! [:'(]

RE: What causes gear doors and thin parts to warp weeks after they are dry?
I had this issue with my FEJ F-16. My gear doors were warped. I used a monocoat heat gun to heat up the doors and used blue tape to tape them down to correct the warp. Worked very well for me. I always keep the doors taped down when hangered and they havent warped again. Regards Bob

I hate to get a product that has been previously opened and or used and returned. I pay for a new product, that's what i expect. I want to have all the confidence in the world that its going to perform. If your customers dont return it in the same condition as it was sent to them, then charge the 15% Ask him if he would like to get a new product from you in that kind of condition. I BET NOT. BOB

RE: Hobby King turbine!
One of the problems with HK is the lack of proper instructions with there products. Little to none with most of there products. I just recieved a package from them yesterday and the data logger had no instructions at all. Not to difficult to figure out but NO INSTRUCTIONS. I beleive when bruce unpackaged the turbine, I didnt see any paperwork. Very difficult to have success without clear, concise and user freindly instructions. I know there is big setup differences between my jetcat and jet central turbines, I can only imagine what HK turbine will be. Bob

RE: Hobby King turbine!
With all the bashing going on here, I thought i was at a UFC fight. With all new products coming to market, I am sure there is going to be some issues. It is what HK does with customer feedback and concerns that will make it or brake it. I remember seeing a king tech rep having hot starts with his new 170 every time he started it. So i dont Expect HK turbine to be perfect out of the box either. One thing i know HK lacks in is quality instructions or the lack of instructions at all. When bruce pulled out all the packaging, I dont think i saw any paper work. Dont think anyone will have much success without proper instructions, especially with radio setup. I will wait and see how this all shakes out before i make an opinion either way. I do know one thing, I will never buy one of their turbines unless there is a US service center. It makes no sense to waist all the time and money in shipping for repairs Bob

Its funny, I bought a 12X for my 10lb foamy. Needed all 12 channels. Dont think i could ever trust a 50 dollar radio to fly a 10k plane. Sometimes you just get what you pay for. My 2 cents. Bob

RE: Lambert Microturbines contact?
ORIGINAL: ceffi
I for one will never buy a lambert turbine.
do that and all will be good for you. I know, a repair can takes longer by martin lambert, but I also know what I have with a Kolibri. Martin Lambert is alone with all the work. If you buy a Kolibri, you have to know, that it can take sometimes a little bit longer. Christian
Wow, It can take a little bit longer. Is over a year a little bit longer ???. It sounds like he makes a great turbine, but the down side is the service. This hobby is a luxury and people spend their hard earned money for the joy flying brings them. If dealing with companies that do business like this, it just sucks the fun right out. I feel sorry for anyone that needs to send there turbine in for service. I have had a bad experiance with a turbine company and a person that feed me some BS. The truth is always better than a lie and is easier to deal with. If you know the truth, you know what to expect. With a lie, you never know what to expect !!! I hope for all the Kolibri owners that this thread has a positive affect for lambert turbines.

Dealing with companies/people like in this situation just suck the fun out of this hobby. I am sure that alot of people after seeing this thread will stay clear of lambert turbines. It is a shame that only from the pressure from this thread there has been some resolution. I for one will never buy a lambert turbine. A great indicator of future behavior is past behavior. [:'(]

RE: Viper Jet 2M Pointers/ tips.
Hi all, have watched this thread for a while and thought i would share some photos of my build. I have finished it and had a successful maiden flight. Could not have expected better. Wish could have gotten more flights on it but we had a pretty good cross wind most of the day and could only get in one flight. I have made most of the recomendations made on this thread and some of my own. I installed a P-120 and made my own custom smoke tank. I was a little disturbed at the final weight @ 28 lbs dry, but the way it flies quickly put me at ease.Cg @ 12.5 mm and no extra weight to balance. Flew it around only at half throttle and the stalls were predictable and mild with no flaps and with approach flaps.Recomended throws and 35% expo, no elevator mix with the flaps. Regards all Bob
