RE: Sebart Wind 110
Version 3.20 firmware released 1/05/2010 is stated to correct the timing issues with screeching shounds. This is the exact message for Version3.20 firmware update: Bug fix: Timing would become overly advanced at certain RPM ranges. This was often reported as a noise somewhere in the throttle range. It also resulted in excessive heat when running in those RPM ranges.

RE: Sebart Wind 110
The current version of Castle Link software is 3.241 and the current firmware for your CC85HV is 3.20. I just downloaded it last night and updated my ICE100 firmware to 3.21 (only for ICE100 ESC) to fix the data logging download bug.

RE: New D3 Pattern Contest
Hello Larry, Thanks for guiding me to the forum for the contest information, and the GPS coordinates. Hopefully you will have some "Sportsman 401" pilots other than myself !! Richard

RE: Phoenix Extra 330S 60-90 Size
Smokey...I cut two pieces of quarter stock, drilled a hole through them and inserted a piece of spare control rod through the hole in the nipple on back of the tank and then epoxied to the bulkhead. I have a photo, but don's know how to post it! [image][/image]

RE: Phoenix Extra 330S 60-90 Size
n1toga... DO NOT GLUE THE SPAR TUBE TO A WING HALF!!! The design is to make it easy to remove/replace the wings for transport and is very strong. This design is used in almost all planes, including large 28-40% scale gas engined planes.

RE: Phoenix Extra 330S 60-90 Size
Smokey...the stock tank is 11 ounces, and yes you can fly 10 minutes without alot of wide open throttle. Today I flew for 11min 30 seconds on the stock tank mostly at half to three quarters throttle, but did use full throttle for about 8 full power passes/uplines. On this flight I was mostly flying trimming routines and then the IMAC basic sequence twice, along with 4 touch and goes. I use the rather large stock muffler that came with the OS91FX and mounted it as all the way back against the mount bolts. The batteries (4-cell NiMh) is mounted behind the fuslage spar immediately behind the battery tray, and I used a wooden 15x6 zinger prop (weighed 1 oz. less than APC). The back of the tank is flush with the rear of the tank compartment ( to reduce the amount of cg shift from full to empty tank). NO WEIGHTS was added to get it to the recommended cg-- only placement of battery and using light wooden prop. Tomorrow will I will probably move the battery to the front side of the spar to move the cg a little forwared for a tad more locked-in feel, for I intend to use this plane for IMAC basic practice.

RE: Phoenix Extra 330S 60-90 Size
I maiden my extra yesterday with an OS 91fx with 15x6 zinger prop and stock tank. My count down timer was set for 6 minutes, upon the alarm I entered the landing pattern and set it down. When I checked the tank there was only a couple of ounces left. The plane flew very nice, and has a beautiful inverted flat spin around the cg. The landing took a couple of passes due to the nose pitching up with reduced throttle. I will be adding one degree right and down thrust for todays flights.

RE: Goldberg Ex-Treme Edge 540 ARF
I had the maiden flight on mine yesterday. Using an OS .50 with 12.25 x 3.75 prop, had to mount battery pack under fuel tank and add 1.5 oz weighted prop nut to get to middle of CG range. She flew extremely well once I got her trimmed, tight water falls, rising inverted spins from a blender, harrier with little but controllable wing rock. The .50 would barely squeeze into the motor mount without modification, but has the power to pull out of a hover veridically doing barrel rolls.

RE: seagull edge 540 motor mount
Thanks for all of the great information. I purchased the OS 91 (23.4 oz with muffler) when I ordered the plane, I thought the OS 120 would be to heavy at about 30 oz with muffler. I use J-B Weld to assemble the carbon fiber rods, never had a bond failure with it, but have had failure using CA. Hope to have her in the air on Sunday to give the FuntanaS 40 a rest.

RE: seagull edge 540 motor mount
Blending, I just started building mine tonight and have not drilled/installed my motor mount yet, but mine appears to be solid! Did yours balance with the OS 91 fx on the nose and 3 standard size servos in the tail? I was hoping that it would be a little nose heavy, therefore I could lightnen the load by using a lipo receiver pack and fiberglass/carbon fiber landing gear with ultra light wheels. Any balance information you can provide would be helpful.
