Heli-to-plane filming
This was just a proof of concept test. We wanted to test angles, distances, and formation flying for a future video we want to shoot. I didn't bother with dampening or gimbals or headspeed for this test. Its just mounted with 3M tape on the Rx battery with no canopy. Also running 2,100 RPM on my 3D setup so its far from ideal as an AP platform. Again, just testing some ideas.
ORIGINAL: csatellite Some more great ideas.  I am going to be doing more to my trailer.  A couple things have to happen first.  1) I have to get the trailer dug out of the snow. 2) The temperature needs to get above about 20.  Good grief, this global warming we have had in South Dakota this winter has me frozen to the marrow.   Can't wait until the warmer weather.  Got some parts ordered just need the weather to cooperate.  When it is below 0 I loose all drive to go out and work on the trailer.  Maybe I need to install a fire place in it......<img alt='''' src=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/tongue_smile.gif'' />
Sorry for your weather. RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Spent 2 days at the Yuma Air Show and Fun Fly (Friday night, Sat & Sun) and the trailer got a workout. The generator ran 2 1/2 days on about 2 1/2 gallons which was awesome. Friday night we had a Sim Night and broke out the 40" LCD and Aerofly 5.5 with the SimStick and DX8. Some guys had fun passing the sticks around. The updated BBQ cooked 30 burgers and about 35 dogs. All-in-all we had a great weekend. RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Welcome back to Mobile Man Caves, on today's show Ryan installs a MMC BBQ and food prep table/cutting board. A couple guys and I went to the field after work today. One asks: "where's the BBQ going?" so I say....I'll let you know tomorrow, I'm off to Lowes to get MMC supplies... The base is in a spot that you won't step anyway because the cable is there, and when the BBQ isn't installed, the base isn't really in the way of anything. The base attachment mounted to the grill. This way it still allows airflow into the bottom of the grill and the base isn't in the way if I want to still use it on a picnic table. DUAL PURPOSE. Oh wait, I think they spell it DUEL in the forums... Oh yeah, we're cookin' with gas now. Literally. I didn't show it but the grill came with 3 tops. One grill for meat, a griddle for eggs, and a wire one for pots. That should cover me. I'm not replacing my 5 burner monster at home, just a little something to cook a couple burgers or steak at a fun fly or at the field all day. The prep area hold the tongs, supports the gas bottle, and its a cutting board too, so easy cleanup. Everything assembles and breaks down without tools. I support the ramp with a bottle jack at both corners for infinate level adjustment. I have a great little out of the way spot to stash the parts. More on that later. RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Kodaknix is right, its mainly to carry helis, but if I take planes I'll find a way to mount them on the other wall. I can make extensions for the brackets if necessary. There is also the floor space that I can put tie downs if it comes to that. RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
I got the drawers in tonight and put some non-skid 3M tape on the ramp, it can get pretty slick when it gets wet. I figured I'd keep the heli theme going with a landing pad. I tried to get the drawers to look as built in as possible. They are screwed to the floor and the counter supports with brackets and they can't move around. Tomorrow I will have 120v ran to two outlets. I also got a Yahama EF2000iS generator today. I can't say enough about it. It ran all my lights, the stereo, the chargers at 16 amps, and charged the RV batteries for 5 hours on less than a half gallon. I had it in the bed of my truck and you couldn't hear it standing on the ramp of the trailer. It should run 10-12 hours at my load on its 1.1gallon tank. One 90-sized heli, and maybe one or two planes. I'm not one of those guys that needs to take 40 planes to the field for an afternoon.

RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
OK, so I got tired of not having tunes at the field, so I added some entertainment value today. I installed the Pioneer Premier stereo that was (ahem...WAS) in my Jeep...until about 3 hours ago, lol. (Hey, who needs a stereo in a Jeep with 37" tires? You should be listening to the sounds of screaming pedestrians the crunching of import car sheet metal, right?) Anyways, so after the stereo was in, I installed the Sirius adapter and antenna. After that, the iPad got hooked up. So we now have 32GB of movies and music, internet and email, Sirius, and CD's. And a remote to control it all. NOW we're gettin' somewhere. Check the trailer thread? Watch some Netflix? Read some RC Heli Magazine? A quick SmackTalk lesson before stepping outside and trying it? Need a channel guide for that new Sirius install? Switch plate that needs to be white still. The right switch is main lights, the center switch is lights over the charging area, and the left switch is now the ACC power to the stereo, so it would be like key on, your radio works, key off it doesn't. Nice that way because if you turn the switch off the radio can't drain your battery, and when you flip it on it starts right up just like in your car normally. RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
Haven't made a ton of progress lately. I'm back to work after the holidays, and the holidays zapped a chuck out of the trailer fund because I thought my dad needed to join the 21st century with a new TV. Anyways, I got some decent Sony 4-way speakers installed up front today, made some progress on the lower cabinets (still a ways to go on those) and added my nut-and-bolt collection over the bench. Yes, the thermometer says 72 degrees. [:D] In the next week I should have the tunes finished up and begin the drawers under the other workbench. I included some pics of the different lights on and off too for the heck of it.

I would just replace the floor with fresh 3/4 or 7/8 ply and start fresh. I don't know what you'd use to clean gas and oil out of wood.

Its a separate component, but its within the power distibution unit. The unit is called an all-in-one because its a convertor and a distribution center.
ORIGINAL: telejojo I know it might be asking too much but I would like to see a wiring diagram. My camper has a inverter in it but I don't know how it works. It runs on 50amp or 30 or my Onan 5.5 gen.
I'll post a diagram up. Your inverter works just like mine does, it makes 120v from the RV batteries. You don't need the inverter when you are using 50 or 30 amp shore power or the generator. You just use it to make 120v power when you don't have the other options available.

It pulls through the charge lines from the battery.

RE: Photos Of Trailer Interior Layout, Please Post Yours Too!!
No, you're confusing it. Ignore the inverter for now. The 120v comes from outside. Either from an extension cord or from a generator plugged in to the inlet that passes through the trailer wall and into the power center. From there the power goes 3 places. 1.) you can route 120v back out to receptacles, 2) 120v pipes into the converter side and steps down to 12v, and gets distributed out 12 separate fused outputs, and 3) the charge controller routes to the RV battery and charges it. Now, if you unplug from outside power or generator you have no 120v line. You only have your RV battery. So if you need 120 you have to plug whatever it is into the inverter now. The inverter is only used on rare occasion as a backup 120 source. That's why all the lights are 12v, you have them with or without 120 feeding the trailer.
