RE: Hirobo HGE-20EH Gas Engine
Hi Pete, I have had this Heli for over twenty years now and it has probably only seen about 3 hours hover time. until i put it away. Yes the engine had plenty of power to hover tho I did not try to fly it but have seen one other identical heli fly and hover with no problems. As far as the fuel to oil ratio goes I can't see that it will make the difference between hovering or not, but I could be wrong and think it is worth adjusting it to make sure. I did run mine on 25 to one with no problems. What's happening when you try to hover? Two stroke engines are fairly simple and it may be just a case of setting your carb right tho with this engine it does have timing advance which I have not had a need to play with. It's the cable that goes down into your engine near your throttle, is it hooked up. Your running adaptors in your exhaust system....is this stock or an after market addition? I set mine up as best I could to all stock settings and it was reliable but if you have deviated away from this in your exhaust it could be worth investigating further. Stick with it and I'd be curious to know how it goes. It's probably just one simple thing that is causing you the problem. Regards Rudy

RE: Hirobo HGE-20EH Gas Engine
Hi Uncle Peter66 Yes that's one, I would love a copy of this and yes it has the light green fan cover. I have the orginal Hirobo Bell 47 G2 Manual and Blue Prints and this would complete the set. What sort of engine are you having problems with? I'm certainly no expert but will help you all i can. Thanks and Regards Rudy

RE: When people ask you...
It's quite simple really. Who paid for it, built it, taught or still teaching themselves, repaired it many times, bought it for their own pleasure and dealt with all the frustrations that go along with it.???? Don't know about you guys but I am not a charity, they can go to a hobby store to try. They have a valid reason to let you try tho with my experience most stores won't even let you, unless it's a toy. They can't keep on giving free rentals and keep having stock wrecked. I'm not gunna let someone else try it, stack it, I repair it and set it up again. What for? They want a go...go buy one and try. Most will not..just want to try something that looks like fun using someone else toy.. I just say no and don't feel the slightest guilt.

Blade 400 Glitching
Hi I bought a blade 400 recently and found after charging the batt the radio seriously glitches at about half throttle. I have only charged the batts 2 or 3 times and stacked it now waiting for parts. It appears to get better as the batt gets a bit lower? Has anyone had this problem? Does the receiver need binding. Any help would be appreciated. Regards

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows where I can get a copy of the Hirobo HGE-20EH engine manual. This is the earlier 20cc version of the gas engine. Mine has gone missing sometime within the last twenty years. Hope some one can help.

Thanks Wiz I'm interested in the blades, what are you using? I'll give my 47 a bit of a clean this weekend and post some pics However it's still not finished. How much wider do you think the booms will make the Bell. I'm having trouble getting details of booms. Can you pm me and give me details of the blades such as condition, dimentions, what you want for them and address details Regards

Great looking Bell Wiz. Do you have any more? Can you tell me if you know where I can get some blades. Mine are old and the Bell is the very early version. I'll post some picks of mine shortly. I'm also doing it up as a croppy but can't get much detail on the spray booms. Regards

RE: Hirobo Bell 47 Parts
Thanks for the responses and sorry I haven't been on line much. The frustration got to me. I finally got the parts from the later model Bell 47 and altho they do fit they are out of scale to the original. The good news is the canopy is perfect. I percervered and finally have the tanks and hoppers finished which i had to make from moulds that I first took about twenty years ago. They look great so am going to keep the heli now. It's looking so sweet.

Bell 47
Hi All, I have been rebuilding my old Bell 47G. It has the Hirobo 20cc HGE-20EH engine. The fuse wire broke off from the Ignition Amp at the fuse end, the one going to the Bat so I replaced the whole fuse holder and had to shorten the other wire going to the Bat. Both wires are black and one has a white trace line on it. My question...altho I felt certain that I soldered both wires correctly as they were I am now having doubts (I think it's a bit of paranoia as I don't want to frazzle the Amp if wired incorrectly) I noticed that the wire (without the white trace with the fuse actually) goes to the negative terminal of the batt pack. The batt pack is of the kind that comes with nitro rc cars...4 AA cell replacable batts in a plastic holder. I am replacing this with a NMIH rechargable pack. I have soldered the fuse inline with the wire without the white trace and it goes to the negative terminal of the bat. This is hard to explain but I hope some Hirobo gurus can tell me if this is correct. Can I frazzle the amp if i connect it to the batt the wrong way. The amp also has a positive a negative and an earth going to the engine and another wire with a connector going to the engine. I assume the fuse needs to go in the positive line. If I put a multimeter from the red wire going to the engine thru the amp and to the end of the fuse I get continuity. However this wire goes to the negative terminal of the old batt pack. Sorry for the vagueness of this question. Also can anyone tell when Hirobo first started making the Bell 47 G2, I bought this in Kit form in the eighties and wonder how old it is. Thanks all in advance regards Rudy

RE: Hirobo Bell 47 Parts
Thanks for the response. I can't believe how difficult an excercise this has become, I have given up. Anyone interested in buying a Hirobo Bell 47...the original model. Never been tipped or damaged, only been hovered in total for about and hour and then hung up for nearly twenty years. The only reason I was trying to buy the new plastic parts is because the old ones have become a bit brittle and have some cracks in them from hanging around for so long and it would be easy to paint new ones rather than repair and paint the old ones....or so I thought. Thanks

Hirobo Bell 47 Parts
Hi all. I wonder can anyone tell me of a US dealer that sells parts for the Bell 47. I don't have the p/no's with me (I have them at work) at the moment but I need the Wind shield, dummy tanks and side hoppers. I live in Australia and have tried to get them from the Hirobo distributor here and now two months since first faxing the order, many follow up phone calls, many different stories of where these parts are that are stock items already on order anyway, coming sea freight then air freight then sea freight to finally specially air freighting the items in for me and then going back to sea freight etc, etc. I am at my wits end with this Australian distributor "Toy Traders". Today I have found a dealer that claims they can get them but would take 6-8 weeks....no way, I have been down that route and do not trust what I am told. Does anyone know of a dealer in the US (Heck even the moon) that ships to Australia I would be very greatful. Mr Hirobo can you please help. Regards Rudy

Thanks for the pic Krets. Great idea and I will do the same with mine with a large tube. But the supplied tube is small diameter and would not fit around the circumference, fits nicely inside the pipes outlet. Does anyone else know what it's for. Thanks Rudy

Samba 5 Silicon Tube
Hi all, I recently purchasd a Samba 5 for my FG tourer and it's a nice difference compared to the FG 3 piece tuning pipe. The samba came with a silicon tube about 2cm long that fits nicely inside the stinger. I called the shop to find out what it's for and was told told that they don't use them so I don't need to either but would not tell me what it's used for. Can anyone enlighten me on what it's for? Thanks Rudy

RE: Welcome Hirobo!
Hi all, I'm glad this forum got started. I also have an old Hirobo Bell 47 G2 gasser...the original version built some time in the eighties. Can someone confirm if the front winshield, gas tanks and side hoppers will fit from Hirobo's newer version of this chopper. I have been told they will and I have the p/no's. I live in Australia and need to confirm if they fit. I would like to source from overseas as I want to get them from someone who has them in stock without going thru backorders etc. I know of a place in Canada but they will not ship to Australia. Any help would be much appreciated.
