RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
ORIGINAL: Dads like rc too No problem , I have the stock SH .18 in mine and it screams. It runs better than my HPI G3.0 which is also a .18. I run low profile street tires on mine but second gear still sucked. It's cool to hear it shift but after that wears off you'll need a runway to let it run out. Running around the neighborhood the single speed works better for me.
Thanks for the advice again. Do you have any idea about the clutch question that I was discussing with ShredderGuy? If the 2 speed transmission comes with the clutch already?

RE: Engines that'll fit the Tornado S30?
I read that these engines will work <span style="LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: "Verdana","sans-serif"; BACKGROUND: #fbfcff; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">os 18cv-rx, trx3.3, os 18tz-tx and finally the os .21tm What do you mean by "sealing" the engine?

RE: Redcat Vortex SS, Earthquake 3.5 or Caldera 3.0?
Plus the Volcano with the 8 shocks seems like it can handle some serious jumps.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
ORIGINAL: Dads like rc too I would advise against the two speed swap. Most of us have migrated away from the two speed. Unless you change the gearing it never lets the engine get up to full rpm's in second. Mine actually runs faster in first gear. I tightened the shifting clutch so it won't shift and my Tornado has much more power. Second gear just bogs down. In the beginning of this thread you can read about using HPI clutch bell pinion gears but I can't find 13 tooth pinions available anymore. The lowest I've found are 15 tooth. And I may have misunderstood your reply but it reads like - Great...I don't have to take it apart! You do have to take it apart. Remove the engine from the chassis and tighten the clutch bell screw on the end of the crankshaft.
I was being sarcastic about not having to take it apart haha.. but thanks for the info! I only run the car on the road so I thought that maybe the 2 speed would give me some extra speed. I figured that if it doesn't work now, then maybe in the future if I end up upgrading the engine. BTW, which engine do you run on yours? ShredderGuy, how sure are you about me needing the 2 speed clutch (02045)? I thought that part might come already with the new transmission (one of the reasons being that the upgrade kit to a 2 speed transmission doesn't list that part) here and because I didn't see it mentioned in other posts much earlier in this thread.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
I just realized that my clutch bell moves back and forth a bit, about 2mm maybe 3mm max (I think). I'm not sure if this is new or not and I ran the car this way yesterday and everything was fine. I have already ran about 3/4 of gallon through the engine and everything is still the original pieces. I guess I was just wondering if that was normal or if the screw that holds the clutch is slowly coming off. <a href="http://s681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/?action=view&current=DSCN2539.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2539.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" ></a> <a href="http://s681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/?action=view&current=DSCN2538.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2538.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" ></a>

RE: Problem with Redcat Shockwave
Are you placing your finger in the exhaust when you pull the starter? Also make sure the glow plug is tight (but don't kill it) lol. That might be causing the gas leak as well as the problem of not being able to prime the engine. A bit o fuel aroung the engine might be normal, specially if you over prime it and then you have to remove the excess fuel (you know, when the cord gets harder than normal) by removing the glow plug, turning the car upside down and pulling from the started a couple of times

RE: Shockwave turns off on full throttle
When the engine dies at full throttle it is usually because the engine is too lean. Try turning the high speed needle counter-clockwise a bit. Keep in mind that the engine will run leaner as the gas in the tank decreases. You should be able to tell the difference when you have about 1/4 of a tank left. So if you make adjustments when the tank of nitro is between half and full and you find a good setting, you might find yourself running too lean towards the end of the tank.

I'm pretty sure the Tornado s30 does not come with a built in safe, but I might be wrong
