RE: Putting a side exhaust engine in a 4-tech?
Well i got the chassis free from my boss when our hobby store went out of business. I'm selling it to a friend and he doesn't have enough money to put a new engine in. I had a used HPI 15-T so i'm selling that to him also for cheap just so he can get it running. Thanks for all the replies[:)].

Putting a side exhaust engine in a 4-tech?
Does anybody know if it is possible to put a side exhaust engine in a nitro 4-tech. I have an old HPI 15-t from my rs4 and was wondering if someone made a side exhaust manifold for it. Thanx.

RE: Savage superchargers and nitrous systems
They should make a super charger for OS's four stroke engine. Or mabey a trbo for it would be nice but to put one on a 2 stroke is just a waste of time and money.

RE: TL-01 over heating when dirfting
I've had this one for a while now and haven't had any problems with it. I'm also running a 15t in my TL-01 which before I got the heat sink was running really hot. My gearing is the 21 tooth pinion with the speed tuned gear set. [link=http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?part_id=7495]Heat Sink[/link]

RE: Any all aluminum or all titanium on road RC cars?
GPM makes ok stuff except for the drive train. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR CVD'S! Other than the drivetrain their other parts are great quaility. I like the look of carbon fiber beter than alluminum. It's also lighter too.

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
True the 4-tech hit 72mph but how long did it take to get there and does anyone have a big enough parking lot, NO. Looking at the chart in the caraction mag it looks like it would need about 15+ seconds to get to 72 and by the time you reach that speed you'll have already eaten up another 200+ feet. Thats a 2/3 of a football field!!

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
I choose to work there because of the increased pay and also I knew that because they carry only traxxas and duratrax, there would be PLENTY of opertunities to repair the cars and make some extra money that way. And yes if I had a big enough ramp I would try to jump my house just to say that I could and to try and see I really can break my truck, which hasn't happened yet. I don't think it would break. I have gotten 20+ feet of air with my current jump but my house is two stories so it's not near high enough.

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
You diss HPI yet in your signiture it says that you own an HPI micro RS4. Talk about contradiction. I work at mountain trains and hobbies and yea your car would probably kill anything at our store, because all we cary is traxxas and duratrax. I own a highley moded rs4 rtr3, Savage SS 4.6, and EP evader pro with top of the line eletronics. I'd like to see any of your guys' t-maxx's jump a house and live to do it all over again. Never mine jumping a house, lets just say a 20 foot drop to make it easier. O yea and about the truck of the year award. RCCA is biased towards Traxxas, they have atleast 8-10 pages of adds and not to mention that 75% of the readers rides are T-Maxx's. Bash me all you want about my abilty to tune, competance towards RC, or weather I should have a job at a hobby shop, but in the end I'm not going home to a cheap piece of crap toy and YOU are!!

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
Yea you can get cool running engines with TRAXXAS FUEL. Use any other type of fuel with a normal ratio of fuel to oil, Eg. trinity monster power, and the traxxas engines heat up like you wouldn't believe and no this isn't becasue i'm running the engines to lean. As a matter of fact just to keep them running I had to richen them way out. Most of the time there was fuel spitting out of the exhaust pipe. I was getting temps of 300 degrees, and the the engine would just shut off. I just think it's a gimmic that Traxxas makes so all you can use is there fuel to keep there engines running right. Enven when you are using their fuel they still will never hold a tun like an OS engine will, or any descently made engine.
You said you dont own a TRAXXAS and never will, so shut the hell up about dissing on them unless you actually man up and buy one.
WHY IN HELL WOULD I MAN UP AND BUY A CHEAP PIECE OF CRAP AFTER I KNOW HOW BAD THEY ARE!!!!

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
I work at a hobby store so I've seen all of them but have driven all versions of the t-maxx, revo, bandit, stampede and rustler. The only 4-tech i've driven was one with a 2.5r. The origional 2.5 engines and the 3.3 engines are a major pain to tune and keep running right not too mention they overheat like a mofo if you use anything but traxxas fuel. I usualy have at least 2 people a week come in with a broken t-maxx, mainly suspension arms and trany rebuilds. Most of the cars that come just need to be tuned properly and that in itself is a big task for most traxxas engines. The only exception is the 2.5r, it's the only one that can keep a decent tune and the temps usualy stay cool. The 3.3 is the worst of them all in my opinion. I've seen enough of these cars and worked with them enough that I know I will never by one for myself.

RE: QUESTION ABOUT KYOSHO V-ONE RRR WC EDITION.
It would be if set both the front and rear ajustable shocks to the smae length but because ride height is ajustable it soesn't matter what the difference is in diameter between the front and rear as it can be leveled out by ajusting the preload on the shocks, eg. threading the rear down and the front up. Hope this helps.

RE: HELP! DETAILED QUESTION ABOUT HPI RS4 18SS (SHIFT SPRING)
Switch out the silver spring for the black because the black one is stiffer for higher reving engines. The silver one will work fine for the higher spur and pinion ratios but if you change to taller gear ratios you'll get iregular shift points as you almost have to lock the spring down to keep it from engaging too early. Long stor put short change to the black one.[:D]

RE: 4-tec really hitting 70?
Your right I have never owned a traxxas product and never will, plain and simple. But what I have done is driven one and I don't find them the least bit impressive but more of a pain to work with, use and keep running not to mention the fact that they break all the time.

RE: Ramp construction
I don't have a problem with it getting soaked as I keep it in my garage when I'm done with it. But I probly will still paint it. Scottywilkes, nice pics of your car jumping. I'll try and take some vids when I go out to use mine. I find it's easiest to do a back flip at 3/4 throttle and once it leaves the ramp mash the throttle. But for a double/ tripp, just go WOT until the landing and hope it lands on it's wheels! LOL. [:D]
