RE: Which Panzers had pivot turning capability?
Thanks pattoncommander! Any meeting with you must be of real interest as you must have a lot of interesting stories about the war...anyway, only those who were at war know what it is about, for us that stayed at home (or weren't born at that time) war seems to be just a risky adventure... And we hobbyists sometimes see wars as just a source of information for our modeling activities. But again, only you know how it feels to know that "it's me or him"... Regards, Robert

I think that I'd prefer support from the infantry to clear the trenches instead of risking the tank, the dug in enemy troops could be fielding an RPG then the game is over. Regards, Robert

Thank you guys, I've learned a lot (again!). I just wanted to know if the pivot turns capability of my models is historically accurate or not. My Jagdpanther, Tiger I and T-34/85 (?) do pivot turns, but the [link=https://picasaweb.google.com/105403795492677221295/PanzerII?authkey=Gv1sRgCKeR7a3q3pSp5gE]Panzer II[/link] doesn't. Which Panzers had pivot turning capability? As far as I know, the Panther was the first, with the AK 7-200 transmission. Maybe the Stug had the same feature? Thanks, Robert

RE: 2.4G systems
HI: I have the HK-T4A, and since a few days ago, sometimes it seems to stop working, the receiver stops receiving signals, or at least that seems to be happening. Then I turn on and off both (TX and RX) until it works again. Sometimes the TX LED blinks. What does this mean? Both bateries (TX and RX) are ok (voltage and charge). This started after I tried to bind the TX with a friend's v2 RX (with no success). Maybe the button in the TX was damaged and now it turns on by its own? Any hint?

Problem with the HK-T4A TX
Hi: I have been using this radio system with no problems for months. The Hobbyking HK-T4A (v1). Now, while I am sailing the boat, then it stops receiving signals. After turning on an off both the TX and RX several times, it runs fine again. Sometimes the problem returns after a few minutes, or it works fine for the rest of the day. Sometimes the TX LED starts blinking, as if entering programming mode, but it still works (the RX receives the signals). All of this started sine last week I tried to bind a friend's V2 receiver (with no success). Can it be the push button in the TX that turns on by its own having been internally damaged? Anyway it seems to be fine. This is really puzzling me. Of course I measure both batteries (TX and RX) and they have their proper voltage level and charge. I'd appreciate any help, hint, etc. Robert

RE: Can I resucitate my dead li-po pack?
Constant current? But that is precisely what my NiCad and NiMh chargers do! Then I connected the pack (not using the charging plug, but the two terminals one) at 250mAh until it had 3.7 V per cell (7.4V); this took more than one hour. Then I connected it to the li-po charger and it recognized the pack as a 7.4V, and after a few hours (it's a slow charger) it cut off at 8.4V. I left the pack to rest overnight; today I connected it to a motor engaged to a propeller, draining 2Amps for almost one hour until the voltage was 7.5V, then I stored the battery. So far, I consider this pack alive and kicking.

RE: Can I resucitate my dead li-po pack?
Well, that's precisely what I did: I plugged it to a constant current charger (250mA) until the voltage was 7.4V; then I connected it to the li-po charger and the charge proceed as normal (cut off at 4.2V). It's late now so I will tun a motor engaged to a propeller to verify the charge under normal conditions. Thanks, Robert

RE: Can I resucitate my dead li-po pack?
I found some advices about charging it with a NimH/NiCad charger, a constant current charger, until it reaches 7.4V then charging it with a li-po charger. I have been charging it with a constant current of 250mA and after one hour it has 7V and slowly raising. Let's see what happens, nothing to loose now.

Can I resucitate my dead li-po pack?
I plugged my 2200mAh, 7.4V li-po battery to a small circuit that lets me turn the boat ON or OFF (it has a switch and a relay). After a couple of weeks the li-po was dead, just 2.5V. The pack had 7.6V when I left it connected. Using a voltmeter I found that in the OFF position, maybe due to a "leak" in the circuitry, I could measure 0.01V (using a fresh, undamaged li-po pack). I guess the current was a fraction of a milliamp. Could that ruin the li-po pack? I connected the damaged pack to a charger but to no avail. Is there any way to "resuscitate" it? Batts are expensive and difficult to find here. Thanks, Robert

RE: Why not to swim after your boat
That was the last time I took the sub to the lake. We use a pond in Buenos Aires City for that purpose, the water is clear, just 4ft deep, and we have ways to retrieve the doomed models without getting our feet wet. Yes, I understand the dangers of venturing into unknown waters. Regards, Robert

RE: Why not to swim after your boat
Well, I had to DIVE after my submarine: [link]http://www.camne.com.ar/submarinos/ssn22ussconnecticutroberto/rescateseawolfimg_0049.jpg[/link] Thank God it was summer. I couldn't wait for the fail system to be installed, and I took the submarine to the lake (bad idea, we have a pond in Buenos Aires city)...and after a dive, it didn't return to the surface. I had lost the signal and the sub dived up to 3 meters (9 ft) deep, until it got entangled with plants. It took me 20+ minutes to find it using my feet, as it was too dark to dive (I had my snorkeling hardware but it was useless there). The good news was that not a single drop was found inside -the seals worked well. Of course, the first thing I did to the sub when I returned home was to install the fail safe system: it blows the tanks in case of signal loss. "DON'T DO THIS AT HOME!" Regards, Robert

This is the Hirobo tandem rotors Chinook: [link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFEfTGEe2xU[/link] It seems to be electric. Both rotors are engaged to the same gears, as it can be seen when turning at lower speeds, or I am wrong? If so, then how does the heli change heading? Does the rudder channel work on the gyro to make the heli spin? Thanks Robert

Question about 049 props
Hi: I need a 5in propeller, it could be a 2 or 3 blades propeller; the (electric) motor shaft is a 1/8 in. (3.17mm) size; if the prop is plastic, it could have a 3mm hole so to tightly fit on it. Is there anything like that out there? Thanks Robert
