RE: Spyder RSX or Spyder VS3? or Spyder MR2?
[quote]ORIGINAL: SAVAGEJIM Yikes! Oh well, just like how in RCs, you can spend thousands, so too, can you spend as much on paint ball gear. Professional helmets, knee and elbow pads, vests, and even jockstraps can be mucho bucks. But the next RC I have acutally begun to save up for costs just under $3K USD! So, I can definitely see another hobby costing as much if not more. [/quote] Definatly when I played in the NPPL Super 7 series I spent a lot of money on my stuff. 1800 dollar gun after mods, 250 dollar hopper after it was chipped, All of my jerseys were customized and cost around 60 dollars each, Mask was at the time 110, shoes were 75, and Pod pack was around 70 dollars complete. Then you figure all of the paint I shot up at a tourny. On average I would go through about 13 cases of paint a tourney. All I can say is thank god for sponsors cause to keep up 3 guns and 4 sets of gear for each tourny it really took a lot of help... Ohh yeah don't forget about plane tickets and hotel stays... Pro/Amatuer ballers do not make much from their winnings

RE: Spyder RSX or Spyder VS3? or Spyder MR2?
Honestly you should go to a pro shop "one that will let you test fire" or atleast hold the guns and decide from there. Like some others and yourself said Spyders are all based off the exact same design with a few extra addons to seperate them. For the level of play you are looking at doing it will be just fine. All of the upper level's or even ION and up are great reliable guns

any rc car will want to dive off of a jump if you don't know how to control it. I take mine to the skate park and clear jumps all the time, so with allittle practice i would say no it won't nosedive also check youtube and watch firestorm vids their is plenty of jumping on the videos that i have seen

you can go with the 34, it will fit fine, and yes the firestorm bells should fit fine. but keep in mind you may have to change up the spacers, you wan't the bell to completly fit over the shoes Search back in my posts I have gave info on this many times

it is a good idea for two reason's, first it helps create a better seal, and two not sure how close the tolerance's really are but prolly don't want to give your piston an extra hole in the center of it from the glow plug

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Best thing you can do is pull the glow plug and turn the engine over a few times to get all of the fuel out of the engine, then squirt a generous amount of afterrun oil into the engine, then take the air filter off of the carb and squirt some into there.

RE: FireStorm 10T advice?
If you are purchasing this truck from your local hobby store "LHS" make sure they have a wide variety of back up parts for the truck. You are new to nitro and things will break. "everyone breaks something" And its nice to have an LHS that will have the back up parts for it. Also with that in mind make sure you read that manual front to back, back to front. Go over every nut and screw and make sure they are all tight. And break it in per the books instructions. This will help your storm run in tiptop shape.

Patrick R After I read your email I noticed that you were asking about the clutch bells instead of the clutch it self. So I will post links for all three parts. Keep in mind with this set up it is possible to use the firestorm clutch bells but you have to make sure the bell completly covers the shoe. Here are the links to what I used: [link=http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/86271/]Flywheel[/link] [link=http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/87196/]3 piece shoe kit[/link] [link=http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/77107/]1mm 17 tooth clutch[/link] remember these are optional you can use your old clutch bells

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
martinus, if you are still having clutch issues if you search back in this forum, or possibly via my profile you can see the swap i did when my clutch spring broke. Instead of waiting for HPI to get more parts in for sale "any stormers remember that headache" I just replaced the whole thing with a savage 3 piece clutch. It gave me massive amounts of torque due to the difference in stall speed.

I have two parts to this, first is what i do now "In Iraq" When I am not out on a mission I am usually throwing waterbaloons at the other platoons, surfing the net, or sleeping "yes this is fun when you don't get to do it often" At home I snowboard, Paintball Tournaments "PSP division 2", Mountain bike, dragrace "not so much anymore though", and play with my kid.

i used to race stock heavy my kart was a 93 Margay straight up chassis w/o cage, bridgestone tires, Raptor 3 Alky burner, and I used simpson race gear. It is a lot of fun, but be ready to spend a lot of money, each year we dump at least 3 grand in not including the engine rebuilds "Which we build our own"

RE: I got a new paintball gun!
there is many advantages, with the more expensive guns comes the abilty to dial them into what you want them to do, the accuracy becomes more constant, the trigger pull is customisable in any way you can imagine, no paintbreaks in the barrell, and shot efficiancy is increased a boat load "and you can customise that to make the fun run more efficiant' Those are only a few of the nice things. But all in all, the only thing that matters is if you can shoot someone before they shoot you.

RE: video editing software
Well one thing you can do is Download the Vegas trial, that will give you 30 days, and pending on how savy you are, you can prolly re-download it and just keep doing that over and over. As far as movie maker goes, i know that when i do my previews it shows blurry but when i finalise i can usually set to what ever resolution i wan't. but ofcourse i don't pull the video straight off the camera, i put it on my harddrive first then import it "not sure if that is different"

RE: hpi firestorm questions...
My Storm has been very durable, only thing that has broken off was my spoiler but that is because i some how find ways to flip it on asphalt One upgrade I recomend is putting the Savage 3 piece clutch/flywheel on it... This may sound kind of weird, but with the slightly higher stall speed you will be popping wheelies a hell of a lot, and you wont have that stupid spring to deal with. Definatly worth the few dollars. Also like someone else mentioned probably a new steering servo, the stock one is allittle weak. Now I am unsure if HPI fixed this issue yet, but it seems that a few 'storms have left the factory with loose screws. So make sure you tighten every screw on the truck. Otherwise hope you get one and enjoy it as much as i have.

RE: Internet security
Symantec Corparte - Army gives it to all of its soldiers for free, and I love it. It is very easy to use and has Anti virus, anti spyware, firewall, and an email virus scanner "which i don't use" I used to have the CA anti spyware, but it was quite annoying, and now the army did away with that program so it isn't free anymore

RE: official car audio thread
Hmm, well my Cobalt had Obcon's in and were powered by Directed Audio 600 truwatts mono amps. "Thanks to them for sponsoring, it was a great system and car" And while they were definatly clear, i must say my new favorite company for speakers and amps is Definatly Memphis Audio, Those guys know how to make a speaker, and it is the clearest sound at all ranges i have heard yet. For decks, I stick to Kenwood, but Eclipse are great because of the higher voltage output, and Alpine makes a good deck to. Ohh which reminds me, Planet Audio had a great Linedriver out two years ago, I don't know how well they are fareing now being i am in Iraq and havn't touched a car stereo system in quite some time. But definatly look into these company's they will put any Kicker/Rockford/Alpine speaker to shame in a hurry.

yeah, whats with the wings being the first to shread off, i lost mine due to a flip off of a curb on a road, quite awesome, i got it on tape, i should see if i have that here or not. but yeah, those moabs look awesome on the beast, i should look into those, I know i pulled massive wheelies when i switched to the Savage 3 piece clutch, so if anyone is looking for another cheap way to get better takeoff and massive amounts of wheelies "even with the 21tooth" look at the Savage 3 piece clutch system if you look in my history of posts, it shows the project and why i had to go to that 3 piece
