RE: 56' razor yak
Nice Mike, I'll be starting mine after I come back from Las Vegas I hope. Can't wait to see some pics.[:D]

RE: 56' razor yak
ORIGINAL: AFSalmon The Saito 100 would be a great choice. I'd start with a 15-4W APC as I think that was the best prop I liked when I ran a Saito 100. I used Cooper 20% fuel. If you run 30% fuel you might be able to go 15-6. I like the faster spool up on throttle so the lower pitch works for me.
Thanks Mike. I'm going with the Saito 100 for sure. I've been using the Xoar props and really like them so I'll probably do the same with the Saito. I have'nt started on it yet. I'm going to Las Vegas in 3 days so I'll start on it when I return. If I win big I'll have a large order to place when I get back with you. [:D]

RE: 56' razor yak
What prop do you use John? I like the sound and torque of the Saito. I've used them in the past. I've never tried any other 4 strokes. I'm looking foward to the RY and Saito combo.

RE: 56' razor yak
Mike, I just received my RY today and compared to my other profile (katana) The surfaces are huge from what I saw. This ones going to be a MONSTER!! Do you know what 4 stroke was used on the RY in the video from your site by chance? I've been using 2 strokes on my profiles for a while now but I'd like to go back to the Saito 100 on this one I think. Weighs less than my OS .91 2 stroke.

RE: V2 Katana battery location and mounting
Alright guys here's the update. My friend has his balanced at 6.5 behind the LE and it is still a little nose heavy for me, his is around 7 pounds in weight. I have mine balanced at 6 7/8 right now but have'nt got to fly it yet. The total weight is 6.5 pounds without fuel. I used a carbon wing tube and a lithium set up that weighs 3 ounces less than most other batteries that I've used in the past, usually 2500 mah before. I have the teather lite main gear on it also. So in everyones opinion how does 6.5 pounds sound? BTW I'm using an OS .91 2 stroke engine with a Xoar prop. I was really hoping to hit 6.25 but that did'nt happen. The goal was very light wing loading and hoping for rock solid harriers. I will also check the lateral balance.

katana V2 70 CG question
I see alot of others are at 6.5 inches as far as cg goes. Does anyone know if 7 inches would be too far aft? I don't want the plane to fly level inverted, I'd rather give it some input but not much. Any suggestions would be great as far as CG settings are concerned.

RE: flash foamie from r/c factory
Olin, I'm building another one as we speak. My old one is getting beat up. Nice looking build for your first one ever oosel. One thing to remember on any plane is to keep your servo mounted 90 degrees to the hinge line. Don't worry though, yours will be fine. I love this plane, it's the best I have found for flying around in my yard. It takes one heck of a beating as olin and I both know. Enjoy!!

RE: V2 Katana battery location and mounting
Now I see what you're saying and thanks. I'll use rubber bands like wessco said to get the balance where it should be and fine tune with the battery after mounting the engine and flying it. Thanks guys for your input.

RE: V2 Katana battery location and mounting
I understand what you're saying and thanks. If you mount the engine first you may not have enough roon in the wing to move the battery as much as might be needed though. Been there and done that. I just figured someone with this set up might be able to get me close. thanks again.

RE: V2 Katana battery location and mounting
ORIGINAL: ThumbSkull Get the motor in first. Every build is different but you should mount the battery last to give the CG a final adjusting. Where it needs to go may change HOW it's mounted.
Problem is that I've done that before and could'nt get the CG right with the battery being moved. I figured I would mount everything and do the motor last for CG reasons. I would hate to mount the engine and then have to remount it if I ran into this problem again.

V2 Katana battery location and mounting
I'm to the point of mounting my battery now. I'm using a Fromeco 2600 lithium and a Fromeco Sahara Regulator. The engine os an OS .91 2 stroke. I was wondering where the battery might be mounted with this engine being used to allow the CG to be meet when mounting the engine? Also, any good ideas on how to mount the battery and keep it secure? I've wrapped the battery in foam in the past and added more foam to keep it from moving. Is this the normal way or does anyone have other suggestions? The servos are standard Futaba and Hitec digitals. Just looking for any advice before moving on. Thanks.

RE: TM Pro Katana V2 / OMP Katana V2
Very cool. I'm using the Xoar 15x6 on mine, got 2 of them today. The APC's I used for a long time but after using a good wooden prop on the nitro engines I can't see ever going back to the APC props. They're lighter and spool up faster. I like them.[8D]

Thanks for the reply Mike. Do you think a good 100 oz servo would do ok on the elevator or do you suggest sticking with 2 servos?

Saito 125 on the Fusion
Whats eveyone think about the 125 on the Fusion. My friend has a Fusion ordered and already has this motor. What prop works for you guys flying 3D on the 125? Who is using only 1 elevator servo and how's it working for you? Thanks for everyones reply in advance.

RE: Yak 54 Indoor Foamy. What should i buy?
For light weight indoor models go to fancy foam and check those out. We fly them every week indoors. The Yak and Vrolet are awsome. The other ones I have'nt flown yet.

RE: QQ aircraft. The End?
The Yak is an awsome plane no doubt about it. My good friend who builds for me actually has my Gen. 3 and loves it. He builds kits from Carden and flys those too but still loves the Yak. ARF's have come a long way and for 3D Somenzini has an awsome product along with flying IMAC too. They're an all around great design.

RE: QQ aircraft. The End?
So who here is flying which Somenzini design? I've had 2 102", Gen. 2 & Gen. 3 , a 86" , a 73" I believe it was and now the Python. They all flew great for me.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any details that can be spoken of as far as QQ starting another company or not? I hope there is more to come from him as far as the ARF planes are concerned.

I love QQ airplanes and it's a shame that it's over although I do believe we have'nt seen the last of QQ. I bet he is back with great products again and hopefully soon. Kind of gives us something to look foward to.

RE: QQ aircraft. The End?
Now I understand why Reza did'nt respond to my post about my new Python. I just got everything needed to build it and now I don't know if I want to. I have a brand new in the box Python QQ scheme that I can't even get parts for if ever needed. I have bought a ton of airplanes from QQ and loved them all so this is a real kick in the ba**s.
