RE: Goose's TWM 27% Ultimate assembly
Here is one little tidbit of info you will love. I ordered a 33% 100cc Ulty from Aeroworks a while back. When it arrived it said World Models on it... and it also had an Airborne Models sticker on it. Come to find out TWM was making the Ultys for Aeroworks. World Models do make good stuff... you just have to change the hardware and reinforce some of the structure. I do like my GP better though... It was an easier build and it flys better. I have been flying Ultys for 22 years starting with the Goldberg kit. You just can not beat an Ultimate in my humble opinion.... but I have only been flying for 41 years so what do I know? SDS

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build
Is it possible to have the Pica plans enlarged to get a 25%model out of it? Looks like 25% is going to be what I want to build... I am just trying to figure out the best way to go. I know Barth has a 25% but I would rather get some prints and cut my own.... I can't spend 1000 bucks right now. Thanks, SDS Brother 131

The module systems are slower because the signal has to be converted to digital from analog. The dedicated radios are all digital and give you the faster latency. The module systems are not the way to go, your better off just waiting until you can do the upgrade. Anthony.... get a JR 9303 2.4ghz... you will LOVE it!!!!! SDS Brother 131

>>lag time on the sticksnever heard of that before.rcplanman rcplanman.... They refer to it as latency and it is rated in milliseconds. Each system has it's own specs but what you are looking for is minimum latency.... or minimum delay from stick movement to control surface movement. The only system faster the the DX7 is a Futaba 14MZ... a $2100 radio. I wondered what all the hoopla was about and doubtedd I could feel the difference.... but.... you can definately feel it. Your controls just feel more responsive. I love my DX7 and it has a lot of flexability..... 6 p mixes.... switch assignments. Sorry if this is off topic.... just trying to share what I have learned. RE: WACO YMF
I used to fly JR 9303 on 53mhz but switched last year to a DX7. I immediately felt the difference in the latency... the reaction time from stick input to control surface movement can easily be felt on the Spectrum. I have not had one problem and not the first glitch. I use the DX7 on my 29% Ultimate gasser... no problems.... the RF problems of 72mhz are gone with 2.4ghz. I have also specked out my 2 meter sailplane to who knows what altitude.... in the stratosphere somewhere I guess! No problems... no loss of feel. The DX7 has enough features on it that I have not had to go to the 9303 2.4ghz but do plan that move in the future. I am waiting for a 2048 in a DX7 update like the one they came out with for the new heli radio or a 9303 with 2048 before I make a move. Although I enjoyed the ham band 53mhz equipment I will never go back... I am on 2.4 to stay and highly recomend it. Shawn D. RE: WACO YMF
Dear Brothers of the Waco.... I would like to introduce myself... I have 40 years of building, designing, and piloting experience.... I have finally admitted to myself and everyone around me that I am a hopeless biplane addict. I have been building and flying Ultimates since my first Goldberg in the mid eighties. I am now flying a 29% Great Planes Ulty with a Brillelli 46gt. Even though it is an arf... it is the best flying Ulty I have ever had including a 33% Aeroworks / DA 100. I still love my Ulty but I have recently been hit HARD by the YMF bug and have GOT to build one. I am getting older now and can appreciate the finer things in life such as the Waco YMF!!!! I have just started my research and hope to be much further along in the planning stages of my build very soon.... it has to be at least 25% and hopefully bigger. Hello to all and thank you for sharing your valuble wisdom.... and now I will return to the very start of this thread to read it in it's entirety. Yours truly, Shawn D. Stickney Tennessee G.S.B.A.A. RE: Something different for 50cc?
Get yourself a Great Planes performance series Ultimate bipe..... It is an extremely nice plane and is a total blast to fly. Field set up is very quick and easy thanks to the thumbscrew fasteners on the struts. It flys better then my 33% Aeroworks Ulty. I have a Brillelli 46cc GT in mine but most are using DA 50 and DL 50 engines. Here is a pic of mine...

We have turkey buzzards at our field here in TN........ I have a Renny 2 meter electric and love to get in the pattern with them... it is a blast... they will take you right to the lift... as long as you don't power up they will stay right with you.... with a good ship like the Renny and some practice you can stay right with them. It is a lot of fun... a great experience... and a nice break from flying giant scale aerobatic gassers.

RE: Spektrum DX7 Full House V Tail programming?
Put the flaps on the throttle channel using a reverser/ a reversed servo / or flop the servo. Set up flaperons and spoilerons on your landing switch. To get crow you will use your landing switch to activate the spoilerons (both ailerons up) and use your throttle stick for the flaps (down) to camber you will use the flap trim and the throttle trim.... same for reflex It works but it is a work around.... a 9303 will do it much better Hope this helps

Brillelli 46cc GT
I have been flying a recently completed GP Ultiimate with a Brillelli 46 for the last few weeks. I am truly sorry Scott ran in to multiple problems and had to close his business. I am truly pleased I was able to get one of his latest versions of the 46. I am also very sorry more people will not get to experience this engine. This little wonder starts VERY easy, runs VERY smoothly, and has great power for it's size and weight. I have 1 gallon through it and am already seeing 6900 rpm on a Xoar 21x8. This engine is more then enough power for my Ulty and provides effortless unlimited verticle on this 15lb bipe. I am extremely pleased with the GP Ulty and the Brillelli 46.... what a GREAT set up

RE: Common A123 battery for receiver and ignition with 2.4Ghtz radio
Sure go ahead and use a common battery... and one wing bolt is all you really need... why waiste the time putting in 2... not to mention the weight of an extra wing bolt 2.4 is NOT bullet proof it is still best to keep all the set up rules on aircraft with ignition systems.

RE: Great planes ultimate 160
One thing that I have not mentioned about the kit.... my spinner was in perfect balance.... that amazes me. My setup with the Brillelli 46, stock spinner, and 21x8 Xoar is very smooth.... even smoother then the big Saitos and YS DZ's I had on my Dave Patrick Ulty.... not to mention MUCH more user friendly! I really love this Ulty very much and like the way I set mine up.... very satisfied and I have not had to make any changes. I did have a tail wire break.. I replaced all of them with 45lb Eagle fishing leaders obtained from wally world... no problems since then. I was real happy to see the larger cables fit through the tiny holes in the awesome cool little rigging couplers GP came up with on the stabs... very clever and works great as does the equally and maybe even more impressive thumbscrews on the struts. This Ulty is not a pain to set up at all. On my maiden flight it required no trim changes except for 2 clicks down on the elevators. I definately like this Ulty much better then the 33% 100cc Aeroworks I had... it is easier to deal with, better quality, and it flys better with less coupling. Just can't say enoough good stuff about this plane.... I even wrote GP and gave them a pat on the back.... I also suggested they produce a bit larger one for 80-100cc much as they have done with the 27 and 38 percent Extra. Thats it for now, SDS
