RE: Fuel line tie wire?
shoot me your address and I'll send 20 or so feet of .020 safety wire, we get it in one pound cans at the airport and use it on most everything. or find a local aircraft repair station and ask one of the techs, I am sure someone would spare a few feet to complete your project. Kevin

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
I considered the 120 4 stroke, but as you I elected to install a smoke system and the gasser wins this category hands down. so the DLE-20 got my vote. will get some video footage one of these days. Kevin

RE: Fresno 2012 Jet Rally, no turbines?
ORIGINAL: David Searles
ORIGINAL: fxvtol I am not a classic hater of the jet community. I have been for two years now a member of the Fresno radio modelers club. How can you explain the fact that me and some other people welded together tables so the jet community could place their planes on top and they did not come and participate for two years in the event and now they're complaining about. Al
Al, From your own mouth, you have only the last two years of experience with the club and the event, so, you apparently know absolutely nothing about the history of the event. A very accurate description of what happened was given by another of your members on this thread. ExFokkerFlyer, hit it right on the head. The new organizers, apparently including you, did not know how to make the jet community aware that the event was still scheduled to occur. The last three years of the Fresno Jet event I attended were all announced to be the last one, due to the ''imminent'' loss of the field. I did not attend for the simple reason that I did not know it was being held, as I am sure is the same for most of the jet community, despite your ignorant claim. We all expected, as had happened in the past, for the event to be announced and publicized on RCU. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. In fact I absolutely remember a thread being posted by one of us two years ago asking if the Fresno Jet event was going to happen, and there was NO response from the Fresno club! So those, sir, are the facts. And just as a question to you, since ''you're not a hater'' what, exactly does ''you don't have to have a 5000 or $10,000 to participating in'' have to do with it? Sounds like your true attitude creeping in to me. David S
could not have said that better myself. Kevin

RE: CARF Ultra Flash
Nope,Nope and Nope. this is one of the most bulletproof aircraft ever built. you can damage the flaps if you don't put the gear down but other than that it is built like a tank. Kevin

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
I had the recommended power system installed in a similar weight aircraft as my Eagle and from a thrust standpoint there is plenty but a short coupled biplane is the last thing you want to try and hover, mine is powered with a DLE 20 and has plenty of power but it is a little squirly in a hover attempt. RE: Tips n tricks for lighting kit install?
you cannot power it with a lipo unless regulated, 7.2 volts max input. all my lights were installed from the outside in, fishing some of the wires out was the biggest hassle, thick CA or canopy glue work well for the fixtures and lenses. Kevin

RE: FEJ 1:6 Scale J-10 Vigorous Dragon Build
I will check out the high flow valves, I do not see a need for the ev valve as there are no doors to sequence that pose a problem, the one nose gear door I will do with a trigger valve off the nose gear up line. thanks Kevin

RE: FEJ 1:6 Scale J-10 Vigorous Dragon Build
does this use the 4mm airline? I have not located a retract valve with 4mm fittings for my A-10 as of yet, might just have to make them, what are you using for a retract valve? Kevin

RE: Fresno 2012 Jet Rally, no turbines?
I found out about Fresno last year after the event, RCU is my lifeline for event info and I saw not so much as a peep for last year, the previous year Doug tried to rally the troops but it apparently went nowhere and attendance reflected the lack of promotion, was a great event the years I attended. good atmosphere and a great bunch of guys, this will be a greatly missed event if it cannot be revived. RE: Reaction ARF - PST/BTE All-Composite Sport Jet
I made a few hundred flights with my Reaction with a P-120 and did not install the NACA duct, there were never any issues breathing. ironically I sold it 2 years ago and it never left the shop and will now be mine again, so looking into an alternative powerplant, thinking my P-60 would make for a incredibly light and slow fun plane. RE: interesting morning, still trying to shake the curse.
Damn, lucky there, I am surprised the canopy stayed on the plane. maybe setup a mix so the canopy cannot be opened with the gear in the up position, of course this does not prevent it being opened with the gear down. Kevin
