RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
With 4 flights in for the season, I have to ground this plane. Getting ready to fly the other day, I found the firewall is flexing and twisting. I was going to replace it this winter, but now I will have to do it before it flys again. I am going to extend the sides out 1 3/4 inchs. to remove 2" stand offs. I will still have 2" stand off on the motor. Replace the firewall with 3/8" 7 ply plywood with an 1/8" ply laminated over it. After removing the firewall I have noticed the grain runs the wrong direction.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
My ignition burned a about 10 days ago. After talking to Henry at rcgf, I should not have used any battery over 4.8 volts. They are sneding me a new one and should be here by the end of the week. Maybe get to fly it again next week.

RE: RCGF Engines
Went to a fly-in today. Had problems with the engine. It would pop and back fire. would not start. Had to use a laarge starter to get it to start. The when it did run as I would get down to idle it would pop and shut off. It ran well at full throttle but now it will not idle. It sound like it goes lean, but not sure. Tetened all the screws on the engine and carb hoping that would help. It did run better but I still have the idle problem. WHat should I do? I dont want to adjust the carb screws until I hear what to do. The plane was flown on Tuesday with no engine problems. No changes to the engine except putting on an xaor prop. Help

RE: NITROMODELS REPLACEMENT PARTS REQUEST_Post Here
John, Got the parts today. Unfortenatly it was the wrong landing gear and pants. I believe what I got was for the 100 cc Suhkoi. The box was marked 50cc Sukhoi which is what I need. Let me know what you would like to do?
ORIGINAL: nitrostaff1 item sent and thanks UPS 1ZX03V030398963292 John Nitro Planes
ORIGINAL: sgoen yes it is ok to charge to the card on file.
ORIGINAL: Piston Hey Sgoen The 24/10 right now... is too much for the engine. Give the engine a proper break-in using the 22/10 prop. Cheers Henry
Ok thanks, I will hold on to the 24X10 till later.

Juts wondering if a XOAR 24X10 would be to much for this engine or could I use it. I have one not drilled.
ORIGINAL: Piston Hey Sgoen You are ALMOST there... RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
I did not tack the engine, maybe next time out. I think a lower pitch would help with aerobatic and give a little bit more power. The plane is not fast. It is a slower flying plane, more like the real/full size plane.

RE: RCGF Engines
Ok, thanks Henry. I am using 32:1 Pennzoil oil. The prop is a Pro Zinger. What should I get with a tach? Just wondering, still going to fly as is.
ORIGINAL: Piston Hey Sgoen The 22/10 is a perfect prop for the 62cc. Which one are you using by the way? The 62cc will take this prop with no problem. Remember to use a 32:1 oil/gas mix. Use a quality oil too. My personal preference is Pennzoil

RE: RCGF Engines
Maybe this has been asked before, but for a rcgf 62, is a 22X10 prop to much for this engine at first or should I go down to a 22X8. Only flying aerobatics and I have about 30 min run time on this engine.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
Well, today the winds finally came down the runway and not cross wind. Time to fly the SU-26 with the rcgf 62. The plane flew great this time. Take off was in about 75 to 100 feet at half throttle. I did basic aerobatics, loops, rolls, satll turns, knife edge. Now time to land, that is where most of the problem has been. This time the landing was no problem. Keep a little power on until across the runway and the let it touch down. Two flights today. Now time to check it over. Next time out going to try to change props to a 22X8 instead of a 22X10. This plane is just a big fun plane to fly.....................As you can tell I am happy with the results.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
I balanced the plane on the wing tube. That was the easyest way to do it for me. The plane weight is just under 20 Lbs, and I am using a Zinger Pro 22x10 prop. No reading from the engine.

RE: RCGF Engines
I noticed the firewall is starting to flex by the engine mounts. I was thinking of either glueing a another pieve of plywood or carbon fiber to the back side of the firewall to streghten it.

I do have an ol G 62 from Bennett new in the bag. I will try that and see how it will fit. I would love to get a pitts style. Does anyone know where I can get a spark plug, CB6? I am also looking for carbon fiber to reenforce the firewall?

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
I got to test fly the plane for the second time yesterday. After makeing all the changes to the radio and plane, the plane flue much better. The only problem I had was the muffler fell off, wrong loctite used. I could not get the RCGF 62 to idle down to land. Had to use engine kill switch. Landing pulled the gear out again. Will repair and get a new muffler and try again. Very happy with the power and the way the plane flue in the air.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
Pics look good. Just remember this plane is very tail heavy. It has to do with it having such a short nose. Keep the weight down in the e have had a lot of rain here.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
Well good luck with that. I found a crack in the bottom of my gear by the wheel pant from the crash on landing. I will repair it with jet glue later today. Just need to get a prop and I will be ready to fly. I also found I put + expo in instead of - expo. Made the changes in the radio. I am thinking the plane should fly better next time out.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
Last Sun, the weather finally broke. I was able to maden the Sukhoi. The plane flew nice, but I ran into some problems. The controlles were set on low rate and thet was still way to much ail. I lost the lead weight up front during the flight. Noe the plane was tail heavy. With the ail having to much throw and a tail heavy plane. I had my hands full. When I came into land, I was worried about the elevator too much and stalled the plane. I tore the landing gear off, broke the prop and put a hole in the bottom of the wing. The wheel pants also did not hold up very well. When I got home to check the plane over I also found the firewall was loose. All can be repaired. This is a plane that will take some work to get it set up the way I like it. One things for sure though, the RCGF 62 has more than enough power to fly this plane.

RE: nitro planes SU-26 50CC specs
Well, the weather is finally getting warm. It it is the 70's today. I had 3 days off from work and the winds are 20+. I went back over the plane, found a couple of things wrong in the radio programing. I also rechecked the balance. I had to add 9oz of weight to the nose to get the balance right. I hope now to fly it next week.

RE: RCGF Engines
The weather is starting to turn for the better. I was able to take the plane out and start the rcgf 62 engine with 22x10 prop. Ran the engine at 2500 rpm's for 10 min, let the engine cool and then repeated it. After 20 mins I ran to full throtle with a fish scale. It only showed 21 lbs. Not sure if I need to make some adjustments or just go fly. The engine sounded very good. Slight hesitation on run up, but othere than that, it started very easy. Ideas???? or just go fly???
