hey hey guys.. been a while.. i have been banging the sticks around pretty often except here lately.. dang windy weather.. i just pulled the trigger on a 450 pro TT.. hopefully i will like it a lot.. so far its got hitec 65mg's on the cyclic, a scorpion -6 motor, 45a esc, and i have a mks8910 tail servo for it.. waiting on the xtra funds to get me a spartan quark.. hopefully i can get it setup rock solid.. only issue i have with a belt drive is the belt slipping during hard moves.. or it breaking in mid-flight ( has happened a few times). lol.. how ya doin crash?? hopefully all is well with you and yours..

its the weighted tail grips.. or "chinese weight mod".. i use it on my 450.. works great ONLY if you have cnc grips.. do not atempt it on plastic grips.. i actually have the jig with the drill bit and tap to do it correctly.. works like a charm..!!

i had a bad dx6i the first time around.. it totaled the frame on my heli.. they sent me a new rx.. still crashed.. so after crashing my heli several times they had me send the tx in for service.. its funny, they claimed to find nothing wrong with it (imagine that, them not at fault) but sent me a new tx anways.. so far never another problem.. now if they admitted it being at faulst they would have owed me a lot of heli parts.. lol..

yea. the 600e's are definately expensive and out of my price range.. i would rather pay less for the cheaper exi skeleton and spend my money on better electronics.. if that makes any sense..

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects
that has been in my mind for some time.. i have wondered if they will clone every heli that align makes.. maybe so, maybe not.. a 600 is a large heli.. i wouldn't want anything bigger than my 500 until i get to be a lot better.. the bigger the heli the higher the parts.. plus the biger helis tend to do more damage when you run them into things i assume..

RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects
well when it comes to 30 and 50 size heli's i have no clue how big they really are.. never seen either of them before.. sounds like they are HUGE!!! to me this 500 is pretty big.. actually its about the right size to be honest.. i dont think i would want a bigger heli, yet. lol .. i love my 450's though.. parts are cheap, easy to fix. and you can fly them just about anywhere... vic, i am like you, if its cold the only flying i do is on the SIM.. lol.. i still have that AT-6 texan arf i need to assemble.. i have a .62 ( i think) 4 stroke i bought for it from hobbycity.. is there a special servo used for retracts?? something that moves slow?? i am afraid if i use a regular servo the retracts will have a "snap" like action to them.. i have already brok the motor in on the stand back in the summer.. fun fun fun.. later guys

decided to take a few snap shots of my exi 500 caron edition.. i did a little adjusting today. it seems the belt on the 500 is ran a little tighter than o a 450.. also reporgrammed my esc, i was getting a stutter at mid throttle so i did a throttle range program and its good to go.. here she is.. this picture shows just how big the 500 is.. RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects
vic.. i had those tail issues and changing out the tail boom seemed to do the trick... if u got an extra u mite wana give it a try... its funny, my 500 still sits on the shelf while i still fly the 450.. i still fly the 500 from time to time.. it really encourages me to be harder and braver with the 450.. if i had it to do over again i would get the ALIGN 500 ESP.. it comes with the servos and motor and all... its ends up being about the same money in the end.. but honestly i would have just bought the PROTOS 500 if i had it to do over again.... wanna buy a RTF 500?? lol

for the tail speed is more important than strength.. get the g401b and a mks ds480 servo from hobbycity.. it will be the best money spent.. look it up.. the gyro and servo together should only run about 40 bucks from hobbycity.com .. plus shipping that it.. but look up some zippy lipos while you are ordering.. good cheap batteries.. the only thing i use anymore.. i was using the expensive kongpower lipos but the cheap zippys are better.. if u need help dont be afraid to ask.. all the guys on here are great..

RE: Official Nitro Evader ST Thread v2.0
well.. i am going to give the evader one more chance.. i am measuring my axles length, bearing I.D. and such.. going to order a mix match set of parts and try to run a solid dogbone axle (instead of having the cvd) so it has a cup on each end, and also be able to use a 12mm hex type of wheel.. if this thing would stop snapping axles it would be excellent.. the rest seems to hold up pretty well now.. it has all metal tranny gears with the diff mod.. its great for backyard bashing.. i spend so much money on my helicopters and planes im not sure if i should keep a nitro truck around.. they sure are fun though.

bigstang, i havn't got the carb yet.. as for the savage vs. tmaxx.. i have had several tmaxx's and they DO have their issues.. i want something that is tuff and wil not break all the time.. i do not mind general maintenance, but having diff gears, tranny gears, axles all breaking sux.. i do a lot of bashing and a big 4x4 truck is what i need.. the savage 5.9 is out of my price range.. the new 4.6 seems to be a nice truck.. please, tell me more.. lol
