The only way to get VS airsoft in the USA is from bananahobby.com china toyeast.com Be carefull with the VS BB shooting tanks they shoot 150FPS + may not be the best thing for a kid everyone should wear protective glasses around these tanks especially in kids hands... if he hits somebody in the eye or tooth it may cause bad injury be carful.

RE: Which tank is best for my son? Many questions!
Hi welcome aboard! First i ask why airsoft? You can get IR tanks and do battle with infa red type beaams like lazer tag it's safe . Rule of thumb 1/16 can drive over more rough turrain due to it's size. BUT they break down and need repair much more then a VS 1/24 tank If you want airsoft the 1/16 air guns are no match for the VS air gun that shoots way harder and longer and 1/16 guns always fail and are not as reliable as the VS line. Both types of tanks are fun Both can be upgraded VS will have a 2.4 upgrade with better sound and control in early 2010 sold as a upgrade and track sets 1/16 has more hop ups for upgrading. it's up to you I like both scales

RE: Slightly disappointed by Mato Sherman
ORIGINAL: Panther G I believe that i have decided to install all tamiya electronics in my Sherman. With the cost of converting it to electronics that will support one of the available battle systems, I can buy and install the Tamy guts for about the same price. anyone thinking about going this route?
For the cost of doing that you may be better just buying a tamiya sherman?
ORIGINAL: thomasjohnmurphy You mean Creeping Death. I had one of their turrets. All they did was replace the stock HL gun with a VS one. So you would be looking at around 150fps +/-. I think once you get to 300fps you will be able to penetrate a coke can (with one shot)
That's the place they said they had a whole new desighn made in the USA with all aluminum gear box in the works that would shoot 300FPS I wonder what happend to it? RE: 1/16 StuH 42 with Upgraded Airsoft
ORIGINAL: thomasjohnmurphy I don't know. But I've been able to get a gun to shoot as high as 275fps. (typical is about 225) For comparison my TM Tiger is about 140 fps and my stock HL Panzer III and IV is about 100fps)I tried to get my hands on a 6.01mm inner diameter barrel (on ebay but lost it to another bidder). This would have most likely increase the power 10-20 fps) I'm currently using 6.03mm inner diameter barrels (optimal length is about 10cm +/-)
I am just sick of playing around with the air guns in the tanks... would have been real nice if they did make a drop in hop up unit that was made good like they said it would have been. I think it was that place that made the recoil tanks that had a lazer and stuff ready to run..don't remember there name?

Yes that may be true but did you hear how noisy and loud traxxases primitive 90's gear box sounded!! and it lands like bricks on wheels compaired to the sc10 and blitz...and i own traxxas cars and out of the box new the top shaft with the slipper spur gear is to small for the bearings they use and you can push the shaft all around it's so darn lose!!

RE: Blitz, SC10, Slash, or Strike?
Great video here is my take on this post ... I say the HPI blits is the best 2wd SC truck out and here is why ..Tuff... low center gravity... Great smooth drive train... If you notice the traxxas slash in the video it's primitive gear box desighn is very loud and not nearly as smooth and efficent as a SC10's or a Hpi also notice how hard the slash lands compaired to the HPI ...I noticed this that the sc10 and HPI jump and land much smoother than the slash that always lands hard and heavy and then slows it's pace down around the track... The gear box on the slash is so cheap and not nearly as efficent as the HPI and associated...I know i own many traxxas cars and many associated and if you use the same esc and motor in a traxxas and then in a associated the associated always has a faster speed due to the better gear box. I say get the blitz you will have the best of both worlds TUFF...& HANDELING!!

[:D]Thank God i did not get one!!! Midas well get a VS 1/24 sherman it probably will drive better over rough turrain than this 1/16th tank! And VS is coming out with the new 2.4 radio system for all there 1/24 tanks so they should be even better! best sherman for the money is probably the 1/24 VS tank why did they have to make a lemon toy looking 1/16 scale sherman!!!!

Hi every tiger I i got had the plastic linked tracks on it.... Maybe toyeast just switched and made rubber tracks...I don't know for sure with that in mind i would order from a place with older stock then like bananahobby.com so you have a better chance at getting the plastic linked tracks if VS did switch to rubber tracks... Don't know why they would do that though...
