RE: ** Undestructable RC Body** in 0-20 deg weather
dumb question alert: if you add the duct tape and the washers, how do you get the pin to go through the hole? it moves the pin hole into the body. [quote]ORIGINAL: nitrosportsandrunner um, isnt it Indestructible? not undestructable...lol. said part is that i read the title several times before i noticed it was spelled worng. gorrilla tape is some crazy strong tape, it will adhear to most any surface. the biggest weak point on many redcat bodies is the front bumper area and the body post holes. adding tape to those areas, as well as adding larger washers(traxxas has large white plastic ones) to the body posts will help alot! i did the entire underside of my eq 8e body and it is holding up extremely well. no problems so far and it has probably flipped on pavement about 10 times.. i would not waste your time using any other method.

i did this a week ago on my eq 8e, it works very well. no problems and my 5000 mah lipos now fit. i didn't have to take out the battery trays though i just easily fished them through no problem. everyone should do it those plastic hold downs are for the birds.

RE: fried baby fried....
I AM A BONEHEAD AND DESERVE TO BE KICKED OFF THIS FORUM!!! so i went onto the speed controller website and pulled up the manual and this is what it says: PROBLEM: After power on, motor can’t work, but emits “beep-beep-, beep-beep-” alert tone. (Every “beep-beep-” has a time interval of 1 second ) PROBABLE CAUSE: Input voltage is abnormal, too high or too low SOLUTION: Check the voltage of the battery pack so, oddly enough, my batteries were dead. i was sure that the new bateries i put on there were charged but i was mistaken (i have 4 sets of batteries, 2 of them are the same....). anyhow, i tried a 3rd set and the thing works fine. my apologies to redcat for cursing you out today in a quiet field... anyhow, did anyone know that about the beep beep when the batteries are dead?

fried baby fried....
so i took the eq 8e out today in a field that was half dirt and half snow (about 1-2" deep...). i drove around for about a 1/2 hour and i think i got the electronics wet in the snow and mud as the truck has stopped working. not too bright on my part..... anyhow, i initially thought the batteries were dead but when i swapped them out the new ones didn't work either. i am letting it dry out upside down and i will see how it looks later. any suggestions? thanks guys!

RE: What would Redcat fans like to see come out next?
'm not bashing here but i'd rather see redcat improve on their reliability as well, instead of expanding their lineup. why not try to perfect what you already have instead of continuing with new models? i love my eq 8e, but it breaks every single time i take it out. i happen to enjoy fixing it (it's really become a competition between me and the truck to see who will win....) but eventualy enough will be enough for me i am afraid. i do respect redcat very much though for offering affordable, high performing vehicles, but those videos by alishamo are misleading in terms of durability. peace.

steering link
has anyone ever had this problem? on my eq-8e, the screws that hold the steering linkage arms (BS903-030) into the steering link (MPO-11) are too high and catch on the bottom of the front upper deck (BS803-011). i can't get the screws in any more as i've already stripped them and replaced them twice. what the heck!!!! seems like poor design. are the screws supposed to be flat/countersink type? that does not make sense but those are the kind it came with.....??????

how do i get the upper deck off???
i think i bent my steering link yesterday on a little jump (yay redcat!!) and i need to get in there and check. the right front tire is angled backwards about 10 degrees..... i took all the screws out of the top of the upper deck-front (BS803-011) but it does not come off. are there screws holding it in from the bottom that i dont see? also, is the on off switch held on there by double sided tape or screws? am i an idiot or is the exploded view in the manual worthless? please help. see pic:

thanks nitro, i do mean snow proof, not water proof. thanks for clarifying for me.....i dont want/need to run any part of the truck under water, i just want to be able to run it in the snow (carefully...).

question about waterproofing and battery hold down
questions i could really use help with: 1. has anyone waterproofed the electronics in their earthquake 8e (or similar) vehicle? with all the snow here that seems like it is not going anywhere, i am wanting to do this. if you have, please let me know your methods and how difficult it was. 2. these darn hard plastic battery hold downs in the 8e are very difficu;t to deal with. i'm not sure if it's just me but they are very hard to get in out in the field. does anyone have any suggestions on something easier? PLUS, the turnigy batteries i bought from hobbyking (5200mah/30c lipos) have the power leads coming off the side instead of the top so they don't fit in right, anyone have any suggestions on this??? thanks in advance!
