RE: 1/9 rc abram tank
Before you leave the store, you might want to check (pull out and check freq numbers) crystals and make sure they are the same...I have 2 different ones in mine and am getting little support from 21st Century Toys...Not making me very happy with thier products....Don't want to return to Walmart, there are none left.....If it works well enough in desert terrain, I am planing on using the Humvee as supply vehicle for 1/6 scratch built tanks that will be doing paintball battles........ I also have one of the r/c Stuarts and that is a nice toy....Just doesn't like small gravel in the tracks (SNAP!!!).... ps...I paid $75 USD for the Humvee.....

RE: CNC rear-ends thread?
What about building them outta plastic like Raco's were origionally and then gauge the response from Q scalers for it??? Would this be a cheaper way to produce ???? I must say that I am ignorant of the tech/business end of all this...I have only ever been a driver/builder...... I do know the Raco housing held up very well under most all conditions.....Not sure haw a plastic "Skellenger" would work.... I am a little lost ...Why not use straight cut gears??? (my memory is going with age!!!!)

RE: Big Scale Drag Racers?
I remember checking out the Cali web site on the drags...I even went to Primm once to see them....I went so far as to buy a 31cc 4 stroke Honda alky motor outta a truck to build around when the Cali deal fell apart.....I sold the motor (stupid!)....The '55 Chevy looked prime for an old Gasser touch....Straight front axel and all.....(oh well)[:o] Or a raco gear box flipped w/motor in rear of a truck for wheelies..............[:)]

In the past I have sold the Q scale cars first....But I see myself being able to be competitive for more years in R/C...(theres that competitive streak rearing its head again).... I've been gone from Q scale racing for a long time but I'm weighing the possibility of getting back again....Or building something kewl....In Q scale...

RE: Gotta strange question?
I have raced cars (dwarf cars) and r/c cars off& on for a lotta years.... The operating costs of the R/c cars is less, they fit in the truck easier, they fit on the shelf when not able to race and my family rests easier about possible injuries taking money away... Most of the people I have met in r/c and dwarfs are friendly....so thats a wash.... They are both fun and require some skill to be competative..... another wash.... r/c is MUCH cheaper to run & repair after clobbering someone and flipping over the wall.... blow a motor and r/c is about 1/10 the cost.... Oh yeah, I still bash in the desert and woods in a Yamaha Rhino....

RE: What is in your Motor Pool?
The begining of a 1/6 scratch build British Comet... For paintball fighting of course... If I knew more about computers I would post a pic of the turret beginings... I got into R/C cars years ago and gravitated to 1/4 scale cars when they first appeared on the scene...Did that for a few years and then got out of hobby...The r/c combat tanks have rekindled the interest...and the challenge of building added to it...
