RE: SOARING USA??WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!!!
Send the owner of the shop those pictures maybe that will help your case. I understand you though, You pay out big bucks and get damaged goods, not cool. Filing a complaint with your credit card company is the way to go. Send him all photos as evidence. Surely they could send you just a wing. Good luck

I should specify the giga crusher is a single force .28. I forgot to mention the xtm xfactor nitro crawler. Its a very cool looking truck.

What would you do?
I got into this hobby about 6 to 7 years ago. I went nuts, nitro was all of the rage at that time, sedans, and monster trucks were king. I had to have everything, hpi rs4, yokomo gt 4, cen ct-4, shumacher fusion, ofna ld 4, Ofna 1/8 sedan, I also have a kyosho 1/8 inferno gt, austin martin. I then got a savage 25, a mgt .21 still new and in box to this day, a lst, a 2nd run cen genesis, a tower terror, a rtx warhead, kyosho giga crusher, still new. I later got into truggies, everyone was selling them at that time, My first was was the ofna dominator, I bought 2 gs storm sut truggies, I also bought a kyosho inferno usa rtr. I also picked up a new duratrax raze truggy dirt cheap. I forgot to mention I bought a beautiful ofna mbx buggy, and bought a trinity next, Oh and lets not forget my little 1/12 jammin ofna truggy. Now what i am finding is many of my vehicles are no longer being made or they only sell over seas and not in the usa. I am debating on doing a sell down and going to only a 2 or 3 vehicle ownership. Maybe a nice truggy, a strong monster truck, and something electric to run at a indoor track in the winter. What do you think, will i lose my ass??[:(] [:(][:(]

Engine break in (Follow Manufactures direction) or (Heat Cycle IT)?
I've seen and heard about many nitro engine break in methods but what do you feel based on your expereinces really is ultimately the best. I would think the the manufacture of the engine would know the best, rather than some people that feel they are nitro engine gurus . what has worked best for you?

Why I almost Joined a club and did not and instead sold My planes instead of flying them. 1. A member told me if I cannot light up 100.00 bill and watch it burn up flying as not for me. (in other words you will crash). 2. Embarrassed about looking like a fool. (Actually now to think of it I would have been more of a fool not to join the a AMA club). Do AMA clubs cover slip and fall accidents for landowners permitting flying clubs to use their land.

RE: Rough terrain capabilities of MTs vs truggies/STs vs buggies?
Hey one eighty 2 You gotta figure that the Kyosho has a lot of racing heritage behind them so I would think it is a good truggy, not their best but very good. Parts availability, I don't know as I have not owned many kyosho vehicles. The thunder tiger truggy you are looking at was extremely popular back in the day, most everything I read on it was very good, again not your top of the line but very good. Once again I am not sure of parts availability for this vehicle either. Now if maybe a few gentlemen with experience would step up and talk about their experiences with these machines that would help you a lot. From my own experiences generally, truggy vs monster truck for bashing I will say truggy. They do just about everything better except for the really deep grass scene, and I am talking majorly deep grass. The only monster truck that i own that has come remotely close to truggy like handling is the Losi LST, and I own most of them, savage, lst1, Tamiya tnx, revo etc. I also gotta say that the truggy seems like a lot stronger vehicle and rarely breaks, this is coming from my own personal experience. Good luck

RE: What is with Marketplace engine prices?
Hey we live in America, the land of the free where a man can still go from rags to riches, where almost anything is possible. If the seller's price offends you get over it. If the buyer's offer offends you get over it. We live in a free market economy. I have had low ball offers big deal, I just don't respond back or just reject the person's offer. If it were an ideal world we would all get everything we wanted, we would all own beautiful homes, drive exotic automobiles, and have super models as wives, but reality is not everything is perfect. Live life and be happy and don't worry about the small stuff![:D]

RE: Rough terrain capabilities of MTs vs truggies/STs vs buggies?
I have both, monsters and truggies. I have a LST and some older gs storms suts (truggies) They came with more of of a monster truck style tire and believe me that they were the best of both worlds, very quick, great hill climbers, great handling and extremely rugged except for running into a brick wall, my only breakage on it I might add. Now if you look at the LST chasis it is built like a truggy chasis, they are also excellent handlers giving you great control. Honestly it is a toss up, Why not buy 1 of each!!!![:D][:D][:D]

I have been looking at some redcat 1/8 scale E powered vehicles for a while and wonder how durable they are. I like the monster truck and the the buggy. I have looked at the HPI products and Thunder tiger but just can't justify over 500.00 at this time. Let me hear your experiences with these trucks/buggies!

Looking to come into the hobby need some guidance
As this says i have never flown rc airplanes yet but have run many a nitro rc car or truck. I think the following first requirements would be good: 1. something electric 2. something high wing 3. planes looked at the Champ by horizon 4. a super cub I currently have no rc air fields near by so I would be learning through trial and error. I do have a realflight simulator but am not having much luck using it. I appreciate any help/advice given. Thanks

RE: Thinking about coming back into the truggy game, what to buy?
Losi 8 or Associated 8 because they are really good and also highly supported. At the track I visit Losi and Associated are very popular due to parts availability plus they are high quality. Don't get me wrong now Mugen, Jammn, Xray, Serpent are also excellent machines but if they break it might be hard to find parts locally at a track thus my logic. OS engines tuned right are also highly relaible, not much of a fuss with them. Unfortunately I can't afford them, but i have seen them in action and they are awesome for being reliable.

I like the the buggies merged with truggies 1/8 class idea etc. Stadium truck with buggies 1/10 etc. Short course by its self. (don't even own one) All monster type trucks merged together a little healthy bragging traxxas vs hpi etc can be liven up things as long it is kept under control. I would like to see the power sources seperate but i realize that there is just not enough traffic to do so. Are all of the other rc car/truck sites this dead lately? Need advice on the Savage XS
I was first considering the Thunder tiger electric truggy but it is just to much to put out right now. The XS seems like a nice little savage does it run well in the grass? What types of lipos would I need to run it? Can anyone recommend some batteries and and charger/balancer that i could charge 2 packs at a time on? Sorry about the questions but when I read the info on battery size etc, it is like a foreign language to me. I understand nitro with out any issues but lipos and the rating systems baffles me. Thanks for your help

RE: Thunder Tiger MT4-G3 anyone?
From what I heard its pretty hot. The advantage of the savage flux though is excellent aftermarket parts support. The savage has always had a great following. Not saying the truck you want is not good but popularity equals better parts support.

RE: Best truck to get me into the hobby.
Most HPI engines are pretty user friendly(easy to tune and break in) I order all my parts on line from tower hobbies, they ship really fast and have good prices. Why nitro over electric? COST There is no doubt these new brushless systems make rc trucks screamers and much faster than nitro, But your start up on a hot 4 wheel drive truck will cost you close to $800.00 initially. Again some day I hope to own one of these hot electric trucks but at this point cost is to high. Now TRAXXAS vs HPI. In my opinion The Traxxas motors are a real pain to tune. When tuned in right they are real screamers, but when out of tune, YUK! The hpi big blocks are a lot user friendly and easy to tune, and it is pretty much the same with most other big blocks. Good luck in your choice of trucks

RE: Very frustated!
Yes the glow plug should glow if the blue wire is connected to it and your battery is fully charged. Do not take the head off, but rather take the glow plug out and crank the motor with the starter. You will hopefully see the piston moving up and down looking in the glow plug hole and hear a thh thump thh thump. if not the piston might be stuck. Try heating the cylinder with a hair dryer to uncease it. Most importantly the glow plug must glow to ignite the fuel. If it doesnot start call traxxas tech support for help, or better yet use the traxxas support site. Oh, and buy spare glow plugs

RE: New RC, I would like your help.
To 378 comment about OS motors, They are indeed great engines. I had one in my tamiya tnx the .18 which was supposed to a OS. That motor was great, very tunable, and super reliable. My duratrax nitro evader supposedly had a .18 OS in it to, another great motor. A difficult engine will give you fits though, case in point the super tiger .27 in the warhead. I have had a lot of good luck with many nitro engines though. Foxy I have been itching to get an out of control electric vehicle, I have had my on the 2 electric savages for a while. That thunder tiger vehicle though may have changed my mind though. Now the question is do I want to part with the money!!! [:D]

RE: Help in picking a good fun basher.
Don't forget the Losi Aftershock. Its rtr and based on the lst1, a much better handler all around then the savage. Both engines are user friendly. You can't go wrong with Losi or HPI. Traxxas, I like there vehicles but hate their finicky hard to tune engines.

What are your favorite discontinued trucks/cars?
This can include rc trucks or cars that were also discontinued recently also. Some of my favorites were: Tamiya tnx with the .18 os, awesome handlnig, great speed, user friendly, would run and handle head to head with a revo or tmaxx. Tower terror. A total blast of a truck. Awesome performance outta of the box. Easy starting and tunable with a roto start. Super tough, can take rough rolls etc at ease. Hpi rs4 sedan belt driven, very user friendly and great handling I might add. Lets here about some of your favorite discontinued rc rides!!!!

RE: Duratrax RAZE ST Motor HELP. Worth a new Motor?
I own 2 duratrax vehicles, A warhead rtx and a raze truggy. I have only run my warhead so far. I personally have had a difficult time with the supertigre motor. I broke it in according to duratrax's directions. It blew up and duratrax rebuilt it under warranty. It still does not run the greatest. I bought both of them 2 or 3 years back at bargain basement prices but little did I know that both were being discontinued. The biggest concern I have and you'll probabally have is getting parts. If i new I could get parts, I would put new motors in both vehicles. If you don't have a lot in her, (the raze) run her till you blow her or hit a building or something. Hey I own a lot of older rc's they quit making, have fun and hope for the best. I honestly think the supertigre was farmed out and that is why it has been such a bad motor as they are known for producing great rc plane motors. Good luck and have fun

RE: Losi XXL - you give me a reason to keep on going...
I know this is a Losi xxl rant, but I feel that way about my Tower Terror, just beat it and beat it and it comes back unscathed. Let her sit all winter, put some nitro fuel in hit the roto start and off we go. My Lst I love it two but don't run it as much, probably because it it was one of my highest priced trucks and i dumped a load of money in upgrades into it except for the motor mount. The cheap trucks I don't mind beating on. I put all mip drive line on it, rpm arms, a SH .28, aluminum diff cases on before ever running it. I also have a old gs storm truggy that loves to take a beating, so far the only thing that stopped it was a wall. Another truck I really love is Tamiya Tnx Monster! Dam Tamiya for stop making this beast of a monster. This truck is awesome, starts great is really quick for a .18. Unfortunately my collection is becoming antique like me. My collection is around 24 nitros and one gas. That includes a baja 5b, 8 monsters, 5 truggies, 2 buggies, 6 sedans, 2 stadium trucks, and a jato. I went to swap meets to sell some off but people wanted brand new vehicles for nothing which many of them are. I said to myself I will let them rot! Probably not the smartest idea. What would I like now? a 4 wheel drive sc truck for indoor racing and a electric savage, the hp flux or other one. Start up cost of the truck and a charger and battery packs stops me. Another sign your getting older, when you consider what you need first instead of what you want. Glad to hear people are really enjoying their xxl's though. Live hard and have fun!!!!!!![:D][:D][:D]

The new savage flux xs is just what you are looking for. Its a smaller brushless monster, and waterproof, very fast, 2.4 radio system, and around 3 bills. I am not sure if it is now released yet or not, I think it is just coming available. Other guys can probably help you out. Getting into brushless electric is not cheap initially. Lipo batteries and a decent charger are a very good investment intially. Good luck
