RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Its a pain in the ass to replace that part, already on my spare helicopter I had to use inhuman brute force to get the T-block out of the shaft, surprisingly its the shaft isn't bent or broken. Its painful enough thinking I have to shove it through that T-block hole again.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
My heli is almost fixed from last crash. Its got a small but cumbersome problem, maybe you guys can help. When I crashed it, the blades hit the wall so now the gear doesn't sync with the main shaft, the little allen screw hole that syncs both is beat up. Putting a new allen screw is too lose. Its looks stressfull to take the whole helicopter apart just to replace that part with a new one. Maybe there's a way to just solder it without the need of a screw or any creative way, what do you guys think?

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I only need just one. I think on the blue cnc head all of them are the same, if you have a spare rotor assembly like I don't then you have plenty to replace. If would be very kind of you to just send me one (how much shipping cost?) because they are hard to find separately. edit: Thanks, I got your paypal invoice for the ball and the link.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Thanks for letting me know, what are other alternatives to fixing this. Such as buying that specific screwball on my metal head? I think the Losi balls seem like too much complication.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I had a small accident, the blades hit the nearby wall on landing. The helicopter is fine, but one of the link connector's ball flew away. I have the metal head upgrade so right now there's a hole where the gold plated ball used to be. I'm looking at these losi ball connectors, they don't look the same. I just want to make sure where can I get spares for the metal head upgrade, and if this item on ebay will work too. http://cgi.ebay.com/LOSI-LOSB1051-BALL-STUD-SET-10-MINI-LST-NIB-NEW_W0QQitemZ270338227369QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef169fca9&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 edit: Here's in detail the metal ball bearing in the middle of the picture that I'm missing. http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/images/rc_parts/22E_Metal_5.jpg

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
CNC metal rotorheads are great. It weights a little more than the plastic head, but it actually hovers solid and responds better. You will spend a lot of fun quality time putting the CNC rotorhead on and in the process learn a lot better how the helicopter works, I know I did! Also, since you crashed make sure to check that your 2 metal pins are still attached on the blue little block in the rotorhead, if not just cut new ones from a small paperclip.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
dchin I was able to catch your total brushless conversion of the 22e, it works well. I still think the wiring looks a bit messy with cables running along the skies, if there's a way to conceal and make it look neat then I'll be your first customer.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I've just commited my first RC heli murder with my dragonfly 22e. I was hovering nicely in the parking lot, and all of the sudden a big dragonfly bug flies into the rotorblades and gets diced in half leaving a gory scenery at the parking lot, and I was able to land safely. The helicopter is fine, blades show no signs of damage or blood on the helicopter, what an irony.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Again, very exciting news. I just red up online that brushless motors run longer on batteries because they have less resistance, in brushed motors that resistance and energy is transferred as heat, that's why brushless feels cooler to the touch after a flight. You say that brushless flight time is 7-10 minutes on your 800Mah lipo, I'm guessing on a 1000Mah lipo it will be a whopping 10-12 minutes. When I throttle up my helicopter before take off the helicopter likes to spin to clockwise even at rudder full left, but once its in the air the gyro keeps the tail from spinning. I want to know how to fix this, my limit/delay is at default. edit: fixed by reducing the mix in the Rx a bit.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Thats really good news! What would be the normal flight time on a 1000Mah Lipo for the complete brushless heli? and would it be more flying time or less compared to brushes.
ORIGINAL: encore2097 Oh man... a new 2.4GHz Walkera 22E with Lipo is only $99... I might just pick one of these up instead of trying to find a replacement 4in1 receiver for my current 22e (which is around $40 itself)
I'm selling the receiver and controller from my previous walkera 22e.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
The 2.4ghz pairing isn't a problem, it was just a bit tricky at first to figure out because I would mess with the Tx while it was pairing which would automatically abort pairing. So I just turn on on the Tx and let it blink, with the Rx is already on it should just take 3 to 4 seconds to find each other.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I've crashed the heli indoors, not doing it again. 2 plastic ball bearings broke the blades only 1% damage, very surprised considering it flew right into the wall blades first. To repair I just took the metal flybar link from my other 22e walkera . For the first time I have a plastic/metal hybrid rotor head. It flies more stable.

consultjdm, You can use dchin's shipping code since you are 1$ away from free shipping. I used "FIVEOFF" code which is a nice 5$ discount for anything over 50$ but they don't let you use it with free shipping code, but it all came up to 96$. dchin, I saw on the 2.4ghz receiver that the tail motor and main motor have separate "signal plugs" I have no clue what they do.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I just flown the exceed eagle 50. I wanted to see if RTF helicopters are really RTF. So I inspected every screw, checked all the link adjustments, fly bar paddles. Except for 1 small change, the swash plate was off too much to the left and forward, but was 10 second fix with the transmitter tracking. Only thing it really needed was the battery to be installed. The helicopter did take off the ground and performed flawlessly.

RE: WALKERA -STAY AWAY FROM
I have a dragonfly 22e and its not the best on a FM radio, very twitchy to fly. I have heard good things about the 2.4Ghz Exceed Eagle 50 which is 100% parts compatible with 22e, just bought one for $89 its insanely cheap compared to many years ago where most affordable brands were running around $300-400 RTF and parts were a joke. Well yeah you buy a "made in china" and you expect it to last and eternity? Not even close, special those plastic rotor heads spinning so fast. Most newbie problems would go away if they didn't just get their heli for the first time, charge the battery, turn on the heli and throttle up just to see it fly and crash.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Yeah I had it many years I just happen to find it unluckily the brushless motors that were with it are 5 pounds each, I'm on the hunt for the cheapest brushless motor for the 22e, most good sites have them out of stock, if anyone knows where it would be great. Your site has Brushless adapter V 1.3 connector, this is only for the 2.4ghz version right? So I'll just need the motor to be up and flying. edit: I went for the $89 dollar 2.4ghz exceed eagle 50, sick deal.

I just found a brushless speed controller here are the specs [image]http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6904/0722091826.jpg[/image] Will this do the trick for going brushless? I'll just need a new brushless main motor.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
consultjdm, the left knob is the PLT it limits the RPM, on mine is set to vertical. The right knob controls the pitch, mine is set low to have more pitch on the blades and is less sensitive than when its at 12'clock the blades spine slower. I will play with the knobs and find the juicy spot. dchin62973, where can I look at an oscilloscope for the tail, and have you tried it will a main brushed motor too?

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
ORIGINAL: consultjdm simio, not that I know of but it shouldn't twitch normally it just starts fading/losing its heading slowly as the pack wears down. Twiching might be a bad motor, or the head speed is to high. JD
The helicopter takes off easily with the left knob middle and right knob near minimum, the battery pack was probably wearing out. The tail motor I got last month has gone through 10 charged batteries or so at least it still has some more spinning left to do for me. The big pain is replacing them, I always use too much pressure to get the pinion in/out and I pop the plastic back... its not fun actually its the most unfavorable part of the helicopter to fix. I haven't messed with the receiver tracking much, I don't know in which direction works best for improving the tail problem.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
The helicopter flies very smooth now, after it lifts off the helicopter hovers very nice but not too late the tail motor twitches a bit turning in random directions and it gets hard to regain control afterwards. Are there any hot fixes for this brushed tail motor?

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
Good replies from everybody. I had too much fun this morning, the blades were already taped up and my last flight the blades hit the pavement by a rough landing, thankfully new blades and a couple of pins will get her up again, that's about it. I've just ordered 2 new sets of blades, free shipping at until tomorrow xheli.com so its turned out well if anyone is interested.

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I don't normally post to report good flights but for a change I got the helicopter to fly for 10-15 seconds (my longest flight with it,) it wasn't a full hover but it landed safely. The trick was to remove the training gear [:D] Once thing I've noticed is that the throttle is too sensitive, at around 55%-60% throttle the helicopter goes from being on the ground and jumping to 2ft high, this sudden lift scares me since I want to fly low for now. The knob settings are fine.

consultjdm, I'm going to hover lowly without the training gear and let the chips fall where they may, thanks for letting me know. dchin, I always lose the 2 dowels that go on the cnc blue head, I superglue them but they only last a few flights, what do you do to keep them fixed?

RE: Walkera 22E Lets Talk
I think one of the problems flying my helicopter is that the training gear is making it harder to fly, it feels off centered and feels unnatural. What do you guys noticed when flying with and without the training gear?
