tuned pipe and intake scoop for os55ax
G-Day everyone i have an os 55 ax and want to put it in a seagull pc9 and it will be mounted inverted which means the carby will be right in the line of fire of sand flicked up by the prop when i land so i was thinking if it would harm the engine or reduce power by making a scoop that sucks up air from the other direction like a u shaped intake if you get what i mean i am also looing at puting a tuned pipe on this engine is there much diferance in the power ? or is it worth paying 150 bux for one :/ thanks guys simmo

RE: I DID IT!!
yea winds are round 110kph here now so onley f27c stryker flying LOL yeahh rechargable bats are worth every cent if you get LIPO baterys be very very carefull with them and make sure you use the corect charger ballancer and lipo safe bag ;) but your little plane might burn out with a lipo so might pay to stay away from them for the moment [;)] also early morning and late evening can be pretty hard to fly in sometimes because you can only get the silhouette of the plane and this can make it hard to find the orientation of the aircraft good luck with your batts mate simmo

RE: Took apart my engine & Would like opinions of the photos
G-Day Mate put your engine back together and check yout tappets i am an apprentice working on real aircraft engines and that looks perfectley fine to me carbon is not an issue unless when you pull it apart a small chip might get stuck behind a valve seat and not let it seat properley since it is apart get the head and leak check it get some fuel in a syringe and with the valve gear asembled on the head lay the head on its side and pore some fuel into the intake and exhaust port being carefull not to drip any on the "inside" of the head and then look around the valves for leaks which will apear right away if it leaks let it dry out tap the valve from the top that was leaking and see if it still leaks if it still does then the valves need reseating and thats going to be hard with such a small engine so in that case its probley just easier just to buy a new one[:@] good luck mate simmo

RE: flying by myself? complete newb.
g-day mate i taught myself to fly [:)] i am 16 and started when i was about 10 building and flying bulsa flat wing gliders very simple but they gave me a realy good idea as to how a plane flies , trimming , COG ect ect when i was 12 i got my first rc plane a very small electric twin engine thing called the {SDM Dragonfly} which is controled by diferent prop speeds on each wing then i got a 3 channel J3 cub electric still then i took that out and taught myself to fly that one and then i got the Parkzone Typhoon 3D and lurnt to fly that with a small amout of help on my first flight from a guy i met down the park and about 3 years later i got another small 3D plane then a parksone F27-c stryker and then about 6 years from the start i now have me a 60 size katana 3D which i have flown twice and have no troble with it [:)] so im saying it is possible but it is hard and takes a longgg time and a few extra $$$ sims are awesome for lurning get one [:)] if you can get help ;) good luck and happy flying simmo

RE: What is a good electric rtf?
either the parkzone F-27c Stryker or the parkzone Typhoon 2 3D are a3wesome ittle planes but with the stryker you need to add some colour for orientation and better servos coz the stock ones will strip first flight simmo
