RE: 1/2a Biplane
No Plans, I sold it to Flying Models. I went to the Flying Models website to get the plan # and was saddened to learn Hal Carstens has passed away. Sure hope the family keeps the rag alive. The plan # is CD220. http://www.flying-models.com/

RE: 1/2a Biplane
The Herr Pits needs a 15. It was designed for the Norvel 074 but it's not quite up to it. ACE doesn't make them any more but their Simple Ultimate is a good one. It too performs better with a 15. There are some crazies that put 25's on the poor thing. Make a biplane Honker!

RE: goldberg 1/2 a blazer
I'm having a Senior Moment, plus it is cold back there where I have thet stuff... What was the Blazer's predecessor or offspring? I think I remember one had a higher engine mount.

RE: Prop size for OS70FS
Insert snappy remark here. Jeffie... You have wandered My Son... But it is the end of a long, hard week. You shall be forgiven. You must now build and convert 7 Guillows kits to RC. Or does OS make a .070FS? And use a 13cm X 8cm prop?

RE: Simple 400
It's a Brodak.. Nice spinners but the connecting part is for the Brodak 061 engine. Does fit a Norvel 74, not the 061. . I had to make my own adapter for the C*x. Doesn't epoxy all over make it heavy?

RE: Scoundrel too!
Looking just great Rich... Thinking of adding a "Spinner Nose" to the plan. I've not done dope (You know .. The stuff that smells like Banana drops) for a long time but I remember something about putting the masking down then painting the edge with clear. There are more expert around these pages than me on this topic ... Hope some of them can chime in.

"a clunk made from a bullet-shaped lead fishing weight" I may be mistaken, but I believe Nitro eats lead.. Gets in the fuel then coats the glow element.

RE: G-Mark .061 issue
My camera doesn't get that close... But it is a bent piece of metal. An OS might fit on the stub, screw size would be a common metric.

RE: Scoundrel too!
Nice way of making a 'ledge' for the L/edge to sit under Rich. Wonder if we could convince Bruce to do a 'sticky' on tips and tricks. Last count I found 6 in this and the other Scoundrel build thread. Seeing these nicely faired in spinners makes me sorry I did an open cowl on mine. Any volunteers to do an E version?

RE: New to the world of cox engines
Reed valve engine won't work on pressure. Stops the valve from flapping. Just vent to atmosphere.

RE: New to the world of cox engines
Just like you would with a Big Boy. The fuel entry point is on the bottom of the Needle Valve. Connect it to a "Small " tank with some fuel line. Then enter the world of economical flying. You can go Fast or Slow... High or Low.

RE: Simple 400
Fuel tank.. What to do. 1 oz store tanks are heavy and the un-throttled Sure Start will run a lifetime on that much fuel. Film canisters, I never had success with. They always found a way to fuel soak my plane. Bladder the same,, Fiddly and weak. Havn't tried the wedding bubble bottle yet. Tips on them?

Hi Troy.... That's what the extra 1/4 inch sheet was for.. Your added 1/2inch piece of 1/16th on the front may be the way to balance the lighter E motors. How is yours balancing?
