RE: this is bad
I actually had this happen to me recently . I plugged in my hump pack prolly backwards and poof blew 3 servo's . Steering and f/r toast throttle semi works but not enough force to apply brakes

RE: savage 3 speed shift problem
I just recently put the 3 speed kit in my roommates savage. We are running an xtm 457 and its a beast . All I can say though is try to guess as best as possible where you want second gear cause its a pain to adjust if you have a older tranny. Ours ran like a dog at first so i took the tranny back apart and reset all the settings. When we got it out to test it again we had the same problem. Turns out that tuning was a big factor as to why it wasnt shifting . As i leaned it out more and more it began to roar to life. Right now i think it shifts a little early in the power band but that can be adjusted. make sure your tuning is good or youll never see 3rd .

RE: 2.5 trx to a 3.3 what about the drivetrain??!!??
When I put my 3.3 in I didnt have to change anything at all . I used everything from the 2.5 I had and it bolted right in. My suggestion is if u are going to bash this truck get rpm arms and alum bulkheads. Also get a wheelie bar because the 3.3 is a monster in the 2.5 chassis . Power from the 3.3 is awesome broken bulkheads will piss u off

RE: TRX 2.5 are garbage
What's the history of the care on ur 2.5? I know when I first got my max it did the same thing . The motor had lost compression so it would run get nice and hot then die. We also had a problem with our new motors dying after we hit the throttle . I had to lean out the Lsn to get rolling

RE: want big truck, dont know what to buy...
At this point everyone has given you great options . take alook at some of the bashings on youtube. Me personally I had a t-maxx and got sick of it . Now i have a savage 25 with a xtm 457 in it and i love it . I took this thing to a skate park and jumped it over a fence .I was able to still drive away from that. I was literally beating my truck . At the end of it all i knocked a bunch of screws out but i was able to put them back in and im still driving on the same parts . i did a few days later break the axel carrier turnbuckle arms but i just flip one with the other and im off and rollin again. so in the time period ive really only replaced my pullstart so far.

RE: 3.3 Tmaxx weakest part.
I broke alot of bulkheads . I did do 30 into a car tire and with rpm arms something had to break. I let that one slide . I cracked alot of skid plates which put way to much stress on the bulkheads and those 4 screws. Alot of people say getting alum bulkheads with destroy something much more expensive so keep that in mind. I personally got tired of replacing those parts . I didnt see the point in having to upgrade when other trucks are tough out the box .

RE: hot 3.3 motor?
Make sure to get yourself a temp gun. Whats hot to you and whats hot to the motor are two completely different things. As far as the smoke make sure your cooling head is on tight. As far as the the smoke just like drummer said if you used any kinda oil its probably the oil burning off . I have that with my 457 but im not over as far as temps so everyone keeps telling me not to worry .

my first bash and landing tips !
Hey guys I just wanted to share my first bash with you all. It was an exciting time for me I owned a t-maxx for about 6 months and never got to bash . I now have a savage with a 457 and it felt great to get out there and have some fun with it. Heres a picture from last night which was my first time at the skate park. I went back to the part today and jumped this fence landng wheels up. I THen took on this bank to the left of the drop in . Is there a way to control these things in flight? also would those of you like to share your first bash experience with me ?

RE: engine dies when taking off
I'm sure you believe it but that slight adjust ment actually helped i was able to drive it with out it wanting to stall on take off . thanks bunches. Now because I dont like wasting thread space. I have a question on temps . I notice that you said you didnt want it to actually go near 270 . I understand that. Has there ever been an engine that even though it never went near its max temp you felt like it was overheating. My old 3.3 did that and I was told over and over that it is very normal for a traxxas engine to get really hot. Ive seen it on a few other engines but the temps were lower than its max. What gives?

I bought a kyosho that had a fan on it like that when i was over sea's. It had that terrible reverse where it would pop and click until it engaged . I remember it was a terrible car. I remember the body was a ford escort .

engine dies when taking off
Hi I have a problem. While im still in the breakin stages of my motor when i try to take off it dies. I'm not trying to go wot throttle or anything like that. Infact im not even trying to do a quarter throttle and it dies. Motor 457 on an 25 chassis. hsn and lsn have been set back to factory according to instructions . temp is not exceeding 270 which is considered to be the point of no return Ive tried riching it by small amounts but that still hasnt worked.

bulkheads go boom.
So i was out tunning my motor with a "working temp guagge" when a tree freaking came out of no where and hit my t-maxx. It cracked my brand new skid plate and bulkheads . "Sigh" Morale of this story is . T-maxx 3.3 fast, curb slow, rpm arms strong bulkhead go boom!

Yes but from what I can tell they flex before they break. I'm probably going to leave the rpm arms and do full alum bulk hybrids . Although I don't get how the dif's work at that point . I'd like to be able to take bigger jumps like a savage can

I was wondering if using the alum bulkheads would make the t-maxx stronger or would I have to use a different chassis . Also what are the chassis options ?
