RE: where to make or buy an Anti Vibration Cam mount?
blhollo2, You will likely have to buld your own. I would suggest you use soft "jelly" mounts and fit them into your system. You might want to try using two sets of mounts...one set on the end of the mount where it mounts to the plane and another set where the camera mounts to the bracket. link to gel mounts http://www.vibrationmounts.com/RFQ/VM110104.htm#Middle

RE: Is combat dead?
Once upon a time....open B was king......at the time it was competitive, fast, interesting. Most of the time there were "many"spectators out to watch. it was something to see from a spectators perspective. These spectators (future pilots) joined in because because it was fun and competitive....it was also exciting!! That was part of the draw. make it fun and let the guys talk smack.....don't run them off. less rules.....keep it simple

RE: HOW TO GET PEOPLE INTO COMBAT?
Hmmmm, seems to me that if folks are having fun they would be more inclined to continue. if they continue having fun, others would see how much fun they are having and join in. more fun, less rules!

RE: Experimental 144'' UAV Build
Devin, What you are describing is already being done. You might consider hooking up with those who are already working in the industry or researching through tech schools. The guys at Ga Tech are using our field for their experimental flights. They are flying from a laptop using GPS / telemetry at night. There are rules and regulations associated with a project like this. .......flying cross country might break AMA 500 ft. limit rule. Hehe
