RE: Measurements for 150cc Yak 54
Yes, tough decision. You will be happy with either. Go with your gut.

RE: Measurements for 150cc Yak 54
ORIGINAL: jandj1229 Thanks a ton Smarks!  That really helps in my choice of which plane to choose from.  I am up in the air between the 150cc Yak or the 150cc Ultimate.  I am waiting until they go on sale in December to order one so I have some time to decide.  Do you know what the measurements are on the Ultimate by any chance?  I would like to know what the same measurements

RE: fuzzy velcro trick to stop vibration
ORIGINAL: bubbagates I'm curious about using this method for getting a servo to stop hunting for center. My understanding is that if a servo is doing that then the servo needs to have work done on it. I just recently sent two 8711's back in for this problem. They came back and now I no longer have the problem, no cost at all to me. The only time I've seen 8611's does this is when there was slop in the linkage or servo geartrain. I cannot say about Hitec, I haven't used them for some time since I always would end up with them not returning to center after a while and for IMAC style flying, you definitely want them to return to center everytime and no hunting for center and no delay at all moving the surface. Again, just my experience, your mileage may vary [;)]
When the servo is hunting for center, it usually means two things, one, you have a high res servo under a load and it is chattering because it is trying to find center. The other is what you describe, you have gear wear and the gears need to be replaced. In the first scenario, the velcro trick works to stop them from chattering and is perfectly fine. I had a JR rep tell me this at an IMAC contest last year. He was actually the one who told me about the velcro trick. Plus, when you get the plane in the air, the chattering stops because of air flow over the surface. But your point about gear wear is definately something you want to be aware of. When mine start to chatter too much, I do the same, send them in for gear replacement, especially if under warranty. [:D]

RE: fuzzy velcro trick to stop vibration
Yes, have done it. Works good, just make sure to not use too thick of velcro that it causes too much resistance. You really only need it on one side. This technique works good for servos with high resolution that chatter trying to find center. JR servos are known for doing this. Also, my Hitec 7955's do it. Make sure to check the gear wear after a while though, the gears on JR servos are known to wear out quickly.

RE: Aeroworks 96" Extra 260 ARF QB Assembly
They are actually made to fit that tight so there is no slop. SWB arms are top of the line, but if you are not happy with the fit go with another type. I am very happy though with my SWBs.

RE: Aeroworks 96" Extra 260 ARF QB Assembly
The SWB arms are tight. But you can pry the end open a bit with a screw driver to make them slip right on. That is what I do and it's not a problem. Just make sure not to pry too much or you can stress the aluminum and cause it to break.

They are still there but looks like they renamed them to 7950TH and 7940TH, I assume the H is for High Current. Also looks like they pushed the release date now to June. [:o] http://www.hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HS-7950TH http://www.hitecrcd.com/servos/show?name=HS-7940TH

RE: JR 9303 2.4 Question
Also, if you are concerned about brown-outs, you can install a DC-Up. If you have high current batteries (~20C), that should be sufficient current, but the DC-Up is another level of security. http://www.fromeco.org/Products/05FRCDCUP/Default.aspx
