RE: Dumas Donzi Z-65 Power Options
I just used CA to bond it but i used CF tubing and put a piece of CF rod inside and then drilled a hole in the CF tube where I was going to insert it. It took some time but looks good. The ladders took the longest. And where did you guys find the dumas water pickups I cant find them in stock anywhere had to make my own.

RE: Dumas Donzi Z-65 Power Options
Nice ran the boat and its fast a lot faster then i imagined i am running 28 cells 14 to each astro 40 and prop shop 4 blades. When I'm give it power it starts to skip across the surface. I havent given it full power yet it runs on plane at around 1/4 power. Do you guys think I need to move some weight forward? and hears some new pics.

RE: Dumas Donzi Z-65 Power Options
I was inspired by a boat called Fin-nominal by F&S boatworks. It was always in the marina my parents boat is in, in OC Maryland. I just loved the color. I'm also getting anxious to get the bottom paint on I think i'm going to go with the basic black.

New pics the tower and outriggers are carbon fiber rod. I'v decided to put astro 40s in it do you guys have any recommendations on an ESC. I remember seeing a thread on props so I'm going to try to dig that up.

RE: Dumas Donzi Z-65 Power Options
I used CA+ on the strips and then worked my way around using thin ca. Eventually sanding and filling in the gaps, and side blocks. I used some bondo on the underside because it didn't match the hull perfectly I'm sanding that know. I've gotten a little further since the last photos but just finished the bridge. I'm experamenting with the outriggers and building the tower with carbon fiber rods instead of the dowels. My biggest problem is that the guy I bought the hull from stored the wood inside and warped the hull was 99% straight now but just a little wider on top by about a quarter inch which gave me more trouble then I thought.

Dumas Donzi Z-65 Power Options
Hey guys getting to the point in my build when I need to pick out a power setup. I originally bought two johnson 980's. But am looking at Astro 40's. But what speed control would be best for 14.4-18 volts? And has anyone gone brushless with a Donzi Z-65 before. Also I don't know a lot about the electric thing just the basics. Thanks guys Matt

Not to post on an old thread but the plane doesn't need to much I just use them to slow down then bring them back to maybe 5-10 degrees(1/4")

RE: Dumas Trojan
that looks like the speed I am looking for. I mean the real one does about 20 knots so just up on plane is good for me. I think I might try the 720 turbo but not sure I starting to steer away from brushless because of wanting to run at slow speeds as well. But anymore ideas are great.

Dumas Trojan
Hey guys I am rebuilding a Trojan that was my girlfriends when she was little. Now I'm to repowering it my only problem is that it is only a single screw. I'm looking to get it up on plane but not outragiously fast. Maybe 15 mph right now it has a single 6v dumas motor. maybe 5-8 mph but runs for an hour and a half on a 4600 mah pack. I was looking at the aquacraft brushless setup or maybe the johnson 970. Thanks in advance.

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
The old one can handel a .60 but the new one would be underpowered. If you could find an old one or the f-20 the .60 would work. I had a .61 sf with a macs in my old one. good luck Matt

RE: Cermark F-16 Q?
I have the retracts, brakes, and flapperons. If you put brakes on it mix it with down elevator I couldn't think of any better channel to mix it with. I also mixed in spoilers with the brakes.

RE: Cermark F16 w/ air retracts?
I actually put the turbine struts on mine and BVM brakes. The only thing I can say is if you want struts and brakes just buy the wheel kit from cermark the BVM's are great and so are the struts I just had to do so me creative enginering with JB weld to get them to work together. I would also just put the turbine retract mech on it, I also had to JB the music wire to the strut it works now. Also loc-tite everything. But know the bird looks good and stops fast enough for me on our runway so I can now land about a 1/4 of the way down the strip and get it to stop nicely. And you get a good static run befor takeoff which is cool and uses less runway. PS If you go with brakes mix it to down elevator not up like I originally did. Matt

RE: Cermark F-16 Q?
Well I figured if i'm going to be spending money on a Jett why skimp on the servos. So I put HS945mg's on the elevators and HS635mg's on the ailerons. on the rudder is just an HS81mg and the rest doesn't matter. Has anyone just used elevons and no ailerons? I've been thinking of doing this. I only have 7 channels and I ran out with the brakes. Good luck Matt

RE: Seagull Decatholon - Please Help
I bought this plane after selling a pitts. That was a tough plane to takeoff. Now I have A seagull Decathalon, GP Learjet, Cermark F16, and an EJF A-10. This plane I just can't get to do a nice landing on a paved field, on a grass one no problem, but paved it always has a little bump. The best trainer for yopu if you want to buy one, I think is a telemaster. I'm instructing someone on it now and it is awsome. What are you guys putting in the Seagull I have a saito-72 not enough power. Matt

RE: Engine choice for GP Learjet
I put an OS 46ax on mine and A guy at the field that I fly at has a caos and its about the same speed. It has like 9oz in the tail so it would balance. With a big engine in the front I couldn't imagine the weight needed.

RE: Looking for GP Learjet kit or just Wing kit
I have an OS 46 AX and it takes off in about 150 ft off Pavement. you just need to put big wheels on it for grass. I had to put 9oz in the tail behind the radio compartment. And put a canopy latch on the front don't trust the rubberband Matt

RE: Great Planes Lear Jet
I have a GP Learjet, built it like three years ago and was to affraid to fly it. It was extremly nose heavy. I put a OS 46 ax that was off of a skymaster that meet an unfortunate ending. But this plane on this engine flys wonderfully it has nuetral stability and you can leave the engine nacelles on. I was told by a few people to take them off but it flys fine with them on. I put robarts and did the schem as AirNet Systems. Again as everyone has stated, Let the speed build then rotate and when you land come in with power then when just off the ground pull the power and flare. With this engine it will do decent vertical. I see no need for a bigger engine then whats on it. Also make a latch for the window it will fall off with just the rubberband. Enjoy this wonderful plane. Matt

Hey Bob I just moved here from Delaware but so far not that bad you guys at Jett have to be swampt. Three weeks behind. I found the cermark number its F-16JLDG for anyone else that wants it. I am worried that it will be a little stiff for the plane but not sure. I need more channels on my radio I have 7 and need more to many goodies. Yeah I moved up here to fly for a company out of Republic. We take Gamblers and Drunks to AC. Lots of fun. Thanks matt

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
I had the first gen of this plane back in the day, but I have been working on the new one. I put BVM brakes with the smoth stop valve next is to order the jett tried to but the comp where I work was being a pain. I have the new kit with air and was curious if anyone had put struts in the back all I saw on here were the fake ones. Also thinking of puting air brakes in. Linked to the wheel brake valve and a pnumatic actuator. biggest thing I'm trying to find are the struts. It looks like the ones for the turbine version might fit or TAMJETS but I couldn't find a part number. Thanks for your help in advance. Matt

Windshield For a Royal Skymaster
I have just finished building a royal skymaster, and it looks great. But I don't have a front windshield, Bummer[:o]. I have tried putting the plastic that I used on the side windows in the oven then over a fiberglass form but no luck. I also tried a heat gun but again no luck. Does anyone know of a company or person that makes these. I just fisished painting it and am iching to fly it. Thanks for all your help in advance. Matt
