RE: Greater Southwest 2012 Waco Texas
Nick, Welcome to Texas! Glad you had a great time! We didn't get to meet as I was at the other end of the neighborhood and only there Fri/Sat. You'll have to join us on our regular Waco outings. Another great event - thanks Larry, Steve and HOTMAC. Congrats Bob-o on the recognition! Well deserved and long overdue. Pic flood begins here...

RE: Smoke oil pump rate?
Eddie, Actually the best, thickest smoke is at lower throttle settings, it is thicker and whisps in the wake of your jet. Full throttle smoking requires perfect placement, atomization and quality oil to not thin out on you. Experimentation is going to be key. Sounds like you have a good start. James

RE: Good sport jet for a fair price ?
ORIGINAL: rcpete347 HI Guys, most are not pricing a jet right, the up front money is not a good way of pricing a jet. The proper way to price a jet is the total cost to get it in the air, subtract the resale value, then divide the number of flights you got on it. In other words, its the cost per flight. My BVM jets are the cheapest, and FEJ's, the most expensive. Rcpete
Bingo! Exactly why I keep a log book - BVM Bobcat = $5.50/flight, 400 flights, deal closed, new owner. You really don't know how expensive or cheap a jet was until you sell it, or crash it Same thing with engines BTW...

RE: One Pound residual thrust too high for an 18 pound Tams 1/8th F-16?
I wouldn't base your decision on the manufacturer's "claimed" figures. Mike
Ironically, look at this, page 5 from the VT-80 manual. LOL! They don't even agree with themselves! VT-80 would be fine, I would still go for a Rabbit - but I'm biased!

RE: One Pound residual thrust too high for an 18 pound Tams 1/8th F-16?
powerjets: I hear ya. Pepper: Regarding a hot landing - that's gonna be the result of a high approach and/or letting the nose drop more than anything. I've seen (and conducted) hot approaches and landed too fast even with p-60/bee power on the Tam. Your ability to put that thing down on your strip is going to be 99% approach, attitude, etc. and 1% residual thrust. Promise. I'll make you a phone video tomorrow or sunday and show you a couple scenarios. it's a great jet, you're gonna love it whatever motor you choose

RE: One Pound residual thrust too high for an 18 pound Tams 1/8th F-16?
The Rabbit residual thrust is listed as .8lb - call it a pound. It is not even close to a problem - in fact takes a decent amount to get it to roll. The aerobraking from the blended wing/fuse makes landings a breeze with proper approach attitude, speed, CG and elevator touch. Doesn't need drag devices, flaperons, etc. It has the bottom of the plane for all that! I will continue through PM Glen, you're gonna love it - it is just a great and gentle rendition of the model.

Kevin, You can also see how his passive-aggressive issue has become less passive, no? Knives, cutting, carving, etc. He definately needs to see the psych for med review.

I do want your jugs, I mean, I just want one so that I have four of your nice jugs. I just don't want you to feel like I ever wanted anything from you except the jug. I have jug washers - the jug washers do use special blend. But Bob-o not washer or gasser. Just source of big jug. Please tattoo my name on (my)your jug(s).

Huh? I must have missed something? I didn't say anything about you rinsing anything out? Or filling it up?
ORIGINAL: bcovish I ain't washing nothing out for you. I didn't know I was holding one for you but I can put your name on one if you want. We could even fill it up with jet fuel for $4.00 a gallon but that would mean we would have to rinse it out and for you my little buddy, that ain't gonna happen[8|]
RE: Jet Central US Service Center
I feel your pain. That and the service $ was why I dropped purple in 2007. To answer your question, your motor could've gone in and come back 3 times by now if it was hecho en mexico. Turnaround is aimed for 10 business days. I bought my first Jet Central when my P-70 was at Jet Cat for 6 weeks during my summer break and had it sold on RCU before I got it back
