RE: Need Some Advice From the Experts
For me it was the old SIG KingKobra with OS 61SF and than the GreatPlanes Patriot XL with Rossi 61R. (Love it!). Both make me a better skilled pilot, and today I fly few jets, but the best for me is the T-45. It performs great and capable of many F3A maneuvers.

A123 (Genuine) are the best for you, just check the consumption per flight as BarracudaHockey post, and than use the right capacity.

RE: LiFe as RX Battery
ORIGINAL: BarracudaHockey No con's. They dont self discharge or require a regulator and they are perfectly safe to charge in the plane. I get genuine A123's from WrongWayRC.com for my reciever packs, he can put whatever wires on them you want. Balance charging with a Cell Pro is quick and it balances the pack every charge. Simple question with a simple answer... NO! But if you will install it right and use fresh batteries you will minimize the problems to virtually zero. I use Futaba 12FG today, no problems. Had only one problem in the past with 9C 72 due to a crystal fail [:@]

If nothing else there driving the prices down . Funny how things can suddenly become cheaper when theres competion . That makes me think weve been ripped off for too long . Ive been shafted by well known suppliers even here in Aus when buying things so my first loyalty goes to my wallet then if the price is reasonably close Ill buy from aus. but Ive bought bearings here in aus that took 3 weeks to arrive and it was nothing but a balls up with wrong ones being sent twice and when I got fed up with that I ordered from rc bearings and got the set of 4 for $20 compared to 2 at $50 here . Ill never walk into that local shop ever again . Do the people who complain about H.K. have they ever bought anything from them . Just look around your own house and see how much comes from overseas and then that might put things into perspective . Cheers the pope
Also here... You can buy something locally and wait for 2~3 weeks! Many times I get the goods from HK faster... (Or almost any other overseas shops)

RE: beware Hobbyking warranty claims
It's a well known issue that HK support was ok at the start and than get worse and worse during the years. But, I can say for sure (and not only me) that HK is on the right way now. You can get the live support, you getting e-mails replays after reasonable time and they have more support personal. If they will keep on track, we will have a good support that coming with the good pricing they offering.

RE: beware Hobbyking warranty claims
ORIGINAL: Andrew
ORIGINAL: P-40 DRIVER We are all very aware of Hobby Kings business practices. So I'm surprised that your suprised when you got screwed on a warranty issue. You have been around this hobby enough to know this better. Law or no law, you knew thier reputation.
Agreed. Go to your LHS and pay double or triple the price. You'll get the same quality Chinese product, but at least you'll have someone to voice your complaints to and face to face warranty support. If you expect more than dirt cheap support, then don't expect to pay dirt cheap prices.
There is more than a few threads here and in other forums about warranty claims in the u.s where they have a local warehouse and you can see that people returning goods to the local one and not shipping to HK. Check with other people in Aus, there should be a way.

RE: engine/motor suggestions for a newb
Well, I love the glow, but the electric on that small model will out perform the glow. Here's the motor you need: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19025__Turnigy_G32_Brushless_Outrunner_600kv_.html There is many ESC's out there, but you can take: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24253__Turnigy_AE_65A_Brushless_ESC.html The ESC is a bit on the safe side and it's programable via transmitter and Turnigy BESC programming card. The battery can be 3s or 4s, so pick one (or better few...) Ah... you will need a charger, not a galon of nitro fuel [:D]

RE: Ofna Ultra Lx2 V Ofna Hyper 7
ORIGINAL: Foxy
ORIGINAL: The_Shark i would go LX2, its part of the ultra line, simmilar to the legendary 9.5 line and is made my hong nor, the hyper is hobao, the metals and plastics are superior in hong nor stuff and this is why the jammin line is made by them. both are awesome cars, but the LX2 in my opinion comes out on top.
The LX2 is a pure basher. The Hyper 7 was a leading race buggy for many years. They are still winning races today, more than 10 years after inital release. They are built like tanks as someone else said, which does make them easier to drive on a track. The Hyper 7 has a few more features than the LX, and is even tougher. No brainer in this particular comparison, the Hyper 7 hands down, its a much better car than the LX. Also shark I'm surprised that you would say that Hong Nor are the higher quality brand, I would disagree. Hobao make the more expensive race oriented stuff (the Hyper SC10 is technically a better truck than the Jammin out of the box, the Jammin is not even race legal as it is out of the box, just for an example). I have a lot of respect for both brands, they are both arguably the two best bang for buck brands in the hobby. Get the Hyper 7.
No brainer, Hyper 7, just replace the poor servos...
