Have you replaced the glow plug? If it's the .12 or .15 pro the OS A3 or LC3 are good replacements...

RE: Problem with Starting
Reduce the min. carb opening with the idle adjustment screw re-set the linkages accordingly (often just adjusting the trim won't do it). As oneofakind mentioned, posting a pic might help.

RE: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
I picked it up for the 360 but even on the easiest difficulty I can't make it past the part in the third level where you have to hold the southern road into the village. The other squads fall back so you have bad guys from coming from all sides and my own squad are just hopeless [8|] Any tips? I've looked for guides online but can't find anything...

RE: Gears and Transmission.
I assume you're talking about adding a 2-speed transmission? The buggy must already have some gears installed otherwise the power wouldn't get from the engine to the wheels and it wouldn't move. Short answer is that it depends on the vehicle - and if there is an optional 2-speed optional upgrade available for it from the manufacturer or another company.

RE: aluminium rims?
What style? HPI have a nice range and if you go for the black rims they're dyed as opposed to painted and won't chip as a result. Most aluminium/chrome coloured rims will chip as it's a paint layer above the plastic - other than lacquering I don't think there's any way to prevent it.

Heavy, adds rotating mass and will bend in an impact, rendering them useless. I'd seriously think twice about spending money on them [;)]

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
Overheating won't damage an engine, and it certainly won't cause leaks. It's a common misconception that running hot will damage an engine, when in fact it's a lack of lubrication (which often results in high temps) that'll cause the damage. When you get the thermometer don't try and tune by temperate, but simply use it to check temps once you've tuned by sound/performance to give you a rough idea of what temp ranges it's in when tuned correctly [;)] Personally i've never bothered with them but to each his own. Nothing wrong with running 5%, that's what mine started out on - hell you can run these engines on 0% nitro with a few modifications.

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
Remove the cooling head and check for scratches on the top of the piston, also check the shim is in place and undamaged. If all appears OK then replace the head and re tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern (as you would for wheel nuts on a 1/1 car). Careful not to over tighten them. That *should* stop the leak. You can run tanks back to back BTW (and it's probably better for it), just in case you were leaving a few mins between tanks to let the engine cool.

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
Keep the disk & pads clean and the linkage adjusted properly and it'll provide more than enough braking - even with the stock servo.

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
Pfft that's not dirty! Ideally you want to set the idle with the screw and linkage instead of the trims on the transmitter as braking will cause the gap to close further and could stall it out [;)]

RE: hi i have a kyosho my having problems with the belts
Do you have the manual for the car? It will answer a lot of your questions and may even include a troubleshooting guide. It's impossible for us to identify exactly what's wrong with your car over the internet - so if you think the brakes may be dragging try loosening them. Does it make a difference? Is the brake disc rubbing on the pads?

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
The idle adjustment screw (not LSN - it's the one with the spring around it's base) may be backed out too far causing the carb to close under braking. Without the engine running remove the air filter and look down the carb while working the throttle/brake - you should see the barrel open completely when full throttle is applied, and close back to about 1mm at idle. Ideally it shouldn't close any further when the brakes are applied.

RE: thunder tiger TS4N racing
Not very I'd have thought - they're pretty solid in my experience. In fact I think the throttle/brake linkage is one of the few things I haven't broken over the years.

RE: hi i have a kyosho my having problems with the belts
The car should roll quite freely, although there will always be a small amount of resistance from the belts - especially if they're too tight on the pulleys. Check the brake isn't dragging, bearings are smooth (inc. clutch bearings) and for binding in other areas of the transmission. If you can narrow down where the problem is it won't be difficult to find the exact source.

RE: MPORTANT! GLOW FUEL COMBUSTION RANGES
Without an ignition source or catalyst the "Fire Point" (where the whole lot spontaneously combusts) of methanol is 470 Degrees C. Even during the very hottest summer day you'll be absolutely nowhere near that figure.
