RE: Copter X 450 Black Angel
thanks zeta30 on that article... Copter X has been out in the market for quite sometime.. but I guess its been known to make clone SE helis. Although their quality is kinda acceptable and the pricing is also good.. The new BA is a totally new breed of heli. I found the BA to be a good 450 heli design. The heli is really strong. I have crashed this heli a couple of times but the framework seemed to hold well. The usual parts does get broken like shaft, blades, but I have never broken any of the CF parts other than the tail fin.... The single framework makes the heli really strong. and the material used on this model is quite good. Light yet strong. This was a flight taken yesterday with the BA [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJwek5uTPPQ[/link]

RE: Copter X 450 Black Angel
We also had a chance to get this heli side by side with the New ALign TREX 450 PRO. Total length canopy to canpoy the Black angel is slightly longer than the TREX PRO.. height wise its almost the same.. But head to tail tip, The Align PRO is longer than than the Black Angel. But how does it compare in flight with the PRO... [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwK7G3CPF_k[/link] well one thing with the ALIGN TREX Pro. The new 430SB motor is far stronger than its previous 430XL brother. This motor has far better torque so less bogging.. but cyclic speed wise I dont think the Black Angel is far behind. Both heli have there own signature feel that is somewhat what makes them unique. The BA is so far one of Copter X's masterpiece 450's

Copter X 450 Black Angel
The Copter X Black Angel is the latest 450 heli from the KY group. This is one of the best designed 450 helis it comes with all carbon fiber parts, ( frame, paddles, blades, tail blades ). the whole kit is kinda what you would want to upgrade on the 450 SEV2. but with a more robust framework and a new design head. with all the aluminum works on it the build was simple and strait forward. no different from a 450 V2 heli. the only difference is the tight space on the framework as this heli has a single plate design similar to the TreX 450 PRO. This are the electronics I used with this heli Motor : Align 430XL ESC : CC phoenix 35A BEC : Hobby Wing Servos : Fusonic Digital servos Gyro ; Futaba GY401 / 9650 sevro Maiden flight was good. the heli responded nicely on stick commands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gi-ENt-qf4

RE: Copter X 500 build
That is good to hear bignuts.. I had a good flight with my CX500 last wednesday when I had a chance to visit the field. Its a powerful heli. It flies nicely. good and stable. I just had to make some adjustments on the cyclics and flybar paddles to get the heli move a little faster... what servos did you use on the heli?
ORIGINAL: bignuts181 Hi guys well I maidened my copter x 500 last week and all I can say is WAW! very nice to fly, heaps of grunt and if you turn the battery tray upside down fits a 6S 3300 under the canopy without any dramas. Over all I am stoked with my heli, I bought mine in Australia from "The Hobby Man" as well as the Active Reactor 6S 3300mah Lipo.
Trex 500 ESP is better as all the upgrades are already incorporated on with the heli.. They even sold the TREX500ESP for $374 at infinity hobbies.. darn thing was out of stock within minutes.. lucky guys who got that sweet deal....

RE: T-rex 450 clone which one?
Well SKYA, Tarrot, Phoenix.. seem to all look a like. I dont see any difference in the looks nor the dimensions. All as similar to the V2 align design. Its actually best if you can get a 450 heli that you have easy access in parts. For the heli kits all seems to look a like now a days. Most of the clones kinda have all the same features sometimes it just changed in color or anodizing. But all will perform nearly close to each other. although I have tried using a SKYA tail shaft compared to an ALign or Tarrot one. the SKYA did not last long. It might be that the material used was somewhat softer.

RE: T-rex 450 clone which one?
The tarrot 450 is a nice heli. I have seen the GF version.. frame is like plastic that has CF look printed on it. its not similar with the standard GF frame. The metal parts are all okay. quality of make is really good for its price. so Its kinda good buy...

RE: Copter X 500 build
The only thing I like with the 500 size is the speed. Its kinda like a 450 but with stability. Compared to a 600 the 500 is faster. 600 feels a little heavy. although i like its stability and floaty. does not drop easy so you have more time to do tricks. But I am use to flying small heli which move fast and drops fast.. so flying the 600 kinda feels slow. The 70A esc i got puffed white smoke after just 2 flights. Its kinda strange that it happened to you too. It might be that the stock ESC has some problem. Its not the motor, as the motor works well. kinda stronger than the stock 500L from align....

RE: Copter X 500 build
how is the scorpion ESC with the stock motor? the parts of your heli are topnotch.... Hows the helis performance..... I have not tried using a separate lipo for the RX and servos... although its kinda nice to have one separate from the power system. Although its added weight the CX500 can hold a far heavier load. I remember when I tied my celphone at the skids and flew it high to take some short vids. Heli had no problem with the extra weight.... Hows the performance of the GY401 with the heli. I am having some problems with the 401 hold the heli at fast reverse flights.. The heli always wants to face forward... Although on my T500 it was holding far better... I guess I have to make some changes on my tail mechanics to get a better hold....

What is the battery for the BEC for? are you using a separate battery for the RX/servo power? The BEC you are using is the Medusa one, its the one I can see at the picture? That BEC can be powered direct with the 6S lipo you are using. RE: Copter X 500 build
Yes dude.. the lipos are all zippy's.... the flightmax are somewhat the lower version or has lesser C rating over the Rhinos. So far I had good results with with rhino packs. The flightmax are kinda new. Not sure if it will last longer than the Rhinos. As for HC lipos. I had some good results with their packs. The Original blue ones the zippy packs did kinda well. although it only lasted around 35 cycles with me and the power started to drop the later lipos like the HXT kinda lasted longer. The Rhinos and FLightmax seems to share very good results. Ill just have to add more cycles on the packs to see how the performance will be... so far I am happy with these zippy packs. just have to see if it will last a lot more cycles than expected. thanks ninja rhyno... sorry for the short clip.. Ill try to get a longer one on my next flight... Ah.. the zippy packs are great. I have used this lipos for some time now... did you get the zippy 6s? the 3300 are quite heavy. I used this packs before on my TREX 500.. but I used the 5S packs... it had good weight.. but it lacks the power compared with the 6S. We are currently using the FLight max 30C from hobby city. It has good stable power. But so far I like the power of the Rhino. as these lipos have really good power. with the 30C you wont go wrong.

RE: WALKERA 60
rob is right.. you can use the straight gear. it will be easier to find pinions for it. The only advantage of using the helical ones are they are more silent and has better area of contact. But Its kinda hard to look for pinion for it. For the heli. I cant remember that my DF60 looked that way. The head is not similar to the DF60 but the one you got looks similar to the DF36 head. so that might be more of a DF68 heli. The swash is a 90deg configuration. its a non CCPM heli i guess.. for the servos the towerpros run quite okay. I like those servos as I had good control with my60 with that. Although in crashes the servo gears get strip.. but for normal wear and tear it does last. for the tail servo. I kinda find that servo to be slow. its best that you use something that will be a little faster. so you can get better hold. What gyro are you planning on using with that heli?
ORIGINAL: codicave Ok here’s the deal, I am a bit confused when it comes to parts for the 60. As there is a 60# and a 60B, now the problem is that when I look at Airborne R/C, he has 2 main gears one is a HM-60#-Z-18-Main gear set with angle bevel gear (white plastic) http://www.airbornerc.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=30&products_id=1214&osCsid=b3307cb9190e5b67b58850c3faea146e And the other is HM-060-Z-23-Dragon fly 60, Main gear set (black plastic) http://www.airbornerc.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=555 So which one do I use? Is there any real differences? Or will the groove pattern on the rubber band dictate which one to use? As you can see from my pic, I started with a bare bones shell. Postman dropped off 4 9gms tower servos, but also you can see from the pic, it looks like it has a 36 upgrade head on it. So far it has all fitted together, so here is my question, Which main gear do I use and do I have a 36 head on my 60? As i’m only going by the pics on eBay. PS. Please someone answer on the main gear asap, before I buy the wrong one. Cheers All
[link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_iZJIdnB4c[/link] this is when i used a 12T pinion for this heli. It did make it more powerful.. although it does bog down the motor it had good control.. RE: Copter X 500 build
hello Ninja... well I have tried to get the heli in the air. The new set of blades arrived. The new set of blades are the CF blades for the heli. I have replace the tail servo with a 9650 to get more torque for it as my S9257 seems to be lacking the power to push/pull the rudder as I was getting really bad hold. Well It did lift okay. I had one of my co fliers to get a short video but He still has the copy. Ill try to ask him for a copy. It was really a first good flight but there was a problem that I encountered with the tail pitch slider.. the ball link popped out.. actually the screw holding the ball got cut in flight so the heli went into a fast piro... went into a piro auto.. it was really hard to get the heli to land clean.. as there was no control on the tail.. had most of the parts intact.. but a lot of parts need to be replaced...
