RE: Anyone know what hull this is?
looks more like a vern kilmer hull,he goes by the name forabuck.the give-a-way was the odd shaped hatch.sold many on ebay at 150-199 and still making them.good starter boat as long as there are no hooks in the botom of the hull

RE: SHOCKWAVE 55 EXHAUST LEAKING WATER
the problem with using a steel one peice pipe/header is the amount of heat build up in the hull.both the shockwave and the blackjack have limited fresh air coming in the hull.you would have to cut more vents or run without the hatch if you run a steel one peice pipe.just my thought on this problem.

RE: Hull protection?
ORIGINAL: martno1fan Gelcoat is the hard coating on a glass hull,if your going to paint no need to use it just use some car body filler and paint as normal,or you can buy gelcoat filler in different colours to suit the boats colouring .By the way you can get self adhesive rubber for your boat either to fit all the way round or just enough to save the bow ,whhobbies sell it i believe. Mart
wwh has it but the local auto parts store has the same thing but no shipping and handling fees

best advice i can give is wwh builders combo .you get a motor and all the parts that you will need to get you running price is about 300 bucks, this is the cheapest way to go.the kit will have you on the water in a day or so.call tony at warehouse hobbys.you can never go wrong with his parts.

RE: 57" fountain
i bought a hull from him.the only drawback is there are no stringers installed.i didnt like that, its an easy boat to build if the wood was there to begin with.i am afraid of the bottom warping if i install the stringers.it will tend to draw the glass to the wood if not don at the time of the build so it sits on a shelve not built,i dont want to have a hull that by me putting in the wood is going to distort the bottom.

RE: Prather Fun Cruiser?
the prather is a great first boat.i would run it as it is till you can afford to replace the motor with a newer style zenoah, sikk or rcmk.i have had a blast with the prather boat in the past.it is a well built boat that can take a lot of abuse, the homelite will push it to abot 30 mph or more.this is the best way to get your feet wet and learn how things work.after you get board with the homelite motor you can change out to a more powerfull motor very easly.the zen will fit right in but you will have to drill new holes for the mounts.prather used a standard 5 inch mounting rails.enjoy your boat, run the heck out of her.like the name says fun cruizer

RE: BUILD OF AN ALL OUT RACE READY MONO
i was at the pond today for more setting up,but had a problem with the rudder setup.i am needing to go with another design.there are some handling problems with this rudder setback,it is not far enough back.i will be changing to a 5 inch set back style.i want the rudder farther back than the prop.this will solve the boats wanting to over steering.it was real touchy in the turns.boat is great running as this motor is starting to loosen up.i did try a couple of differant size props but my best on for overall performance seems to be the trusty prather 275 s.b.p. speed is not a problem now,it is the ability to go where i point it.all in all the new boat is almost ready to start production on.the 3 inch setback rudder arm to a 5 or 5.5 inch is going to make a big differance in handling. thank you for your complements on the lettering.another member of rcu did the lettering for me.this will be ready for full production by the end of april.still want to see how much abuse this new motor will take.so far its a very strong one,but i realy need to send it through the ringer.because if i build these,i want them to last a long time without problems.i already had to drill out the header bolts and wire them to stop from backing out during the run.also i will need to check the carb,it seems to not want to close all the way unless you give it a couple blipps in the trigger.its hanging up at 1/4 open some times.just another minor problem with a new build and all new motor and carb . will update as they happen. thanks, tony

RE: Sikk motor in my WHH MAN OF WAR
ORIGINAL: RhesusMinus It is a BIG waste of money to change from Zenoah to Sikk. I have broken 3 or 4, (lost count) Sikk cylinders both 25.4 and 27cc. The Sikk engine runs a little better in stock form, but I would rather modify the Zenoah for equal or better performance. I have tried everything to make the Sikk hold together, but nothing seems to help.
this seems to be the case for the sikk modded motors.not that there a bad motor but i have found that if they are left in there stock form they are less likely to fail.most every broken jug seems to be from a modded motor or one that has a tighter squish band.i own quite a few of the c/y-sikk motors for a couple years now and have not had a breakdown other than the starter paw,and the rubber mounts.now i know that there are guys that will argue over there experience with the sikk motors failures.the only thing i can comment on are the motors that i do own, every one of mine are box stock motors.i do change out the starter paw for the metal one from O'Neil brothers.and i replace the cheaply made rubber mounts,oh only one other problem that i did have with these motors is the carb arm assembly and bell-crank need to be locktighted or it will vibrate apart.i have 7 boats that have a stock sikk marine motors.and i haven't had any problems with the jug bolts, but i dont race or run my boats hard all day long either.if i was to race i would go with the new RCMK S254 motor.the weight is 4oz more than a stock zenoah and they have a much better top speed than the stock zen or sikk motors. just my own experiences,my .02 on this subject

RE: Sikk motor in my WHH MAN OF WAR
if it was my boat ,i would check out the RCMK/S254 motor.its a bit cheaper than the c/y,plus the performance is much better, and build quality is second to none.hp rating is 5.2@ 16000 rpm,a tad better than the sikk.this moter will wake up your warehouse boat for sure.and you can bolt up all of the other parts to it,like the clutch and the header and mounts.the web price of these motors is $259 shipped.look into these before you go with the cy motor. just another option that is out there.i have a few of these new motors, and they are a great buy.

RE: O'Neill Brothers clutch??
not a problem doubledog,i just think he cant go wrong with a clutch from oneil brothers.not just me,but many others in this hobby have had the same results buying from them.tony at wwh also has a great product, just not as cheap as these units but just as good in quality.i like the enclosed look to these units also.

RE: O'Neill Brothers clutch??
ORIGINAL: Doubledog $90 compared to $60..... Sure.[8|] I've got one and have beat on it with a full mod. For the money, it might not be the prettiest, but its definitly functional.
like the way you did your mounts, with a coil and bellcrank.very clean setup. as far as the clutches go i was needing to clutch every boat i had for a long time[due to a botched up back surgery]i used the wwh one and the bonzi, and the prather.the best deal and rugedness was the oniel brothers one.if you can get away from using one then you will get better performance clutchless.i found that the clutch will scrub off 5-7 mph off your top speed.but if yyou need the clutch then go with the one that these guys sell.[plus sean oneil is a very good guy to deal with][:D]

RE: O'Neill Brothers clutch??
i have bought and used the O'Neil brothers clutch many times.about 15 of my sport boats have this clutch on them.you cant buy a better clutch at the price that these are selling at.the warehouse hobbies composite clutch is also a very good bargain.but if you want to hear from guys who are using this O'Neil clutch system,i am one of those guys.i never had any problems with the quality of this setup.it does have a bit of weight to it.but it is almost bullet proof.i have run the dog poo out of some of them and have yet to see any wear or tear on them.tough little buggers.plus the price cant be beat.[;)]

RE: Unknown 54" Boat Hull
i have a strange feeling that might be a warehouse hobbies prototype.back in the early 90s tony was doing that on a couple of his personal race boats but had to stop because the rules didn't allow a planing surface on the offshore vee's,the rule came out after he showed up with a design like that to race.give tony a t warehouse a call,it might be a one off boat that he did for himself or one of his workers
