RE: Another Hybrid question.
awesome looking bird [;)] I dont think torque will be the issue if your using something like a hitech 5955. HOwever I think your going to have to to stiffen the area where you put the servo. If I remember from mine being built theres not a lot of meat back there.

RE: anybody got spare wings
awesome I will give john a call. My fues idea is simple. It uses omp's old construction method where you have a foam core sheeted fues. I want to try using 9mm depron as my foam core, stiffened with CF in certain areas then sheet with 1/32nd competition grade balsa. Tail feathers will also be depron based. I will use a one piece wing to keep it simple. One servo set up pull pull on the rudder, one on the elevator, one on each wing and an 81 on throttle. Maybe someone has tried this and failed??? If so let me know your experiences

anybody got spare wings
I am building a fues for a .40 sized profile and I want to see how it holds up in the air. I was wondering if anybody had a set of wings from one that they might have bashed the fues into the ground or something?? I just dont feel like building a set of wings unless I see the fues holds up. Either Fusion wings, Katana wings, Yak, or extra wings...something of that nature.

Nothing yet. I have built a glow shock flyer out of blue core before and thought about trying something simular using depron.

glow fuel v.s. depron
I was wondering if any of you guys have ever had any experience with the effects of glow fuel on depron. I was wondering if it melted the depron or made it weaker over time or if there was really no effect. I soaked a small amount of depron in glow fuel tonight just to see. So far no visual effects.

RE: Help with my new Katana 46
My Katana never did that. I could come in at a crawl. It always landed best to line it up with zero throttle and at about 5 ft add a little a milk the landing.

RE: 3d plane for a 32 power e-flite motor
I think that motor would work fine in the Eratix, its on back order but after watching them fly at SEFF I think it would be worth the wait

RE: Eflite Cap 232 Proflie
Mine was like this at first too. I had the CG set where I thought the book showed. I moved it further forward and it flies fine. Be sure the motor is on straight. Plane flies fine other than the CG being very sensitive. Lots of torque rolling and hovering. It also does a good blender and a fair waterfall. Knife Edge couples a fair amount but its managable.

RE: Green Model Spirit 3d Arf
[:(] I just cant get a good day for this thing. I flew it two more times with the C.G. back, in the wind (local weather channel says 14mph). It flys better with the C.G back and from what I can tell it will hover. Everytime I would get it to stand up for me good the wind would push it so hard that I couldnt maintain hover. From what I can tell its weak point is Rudder Authority. It does not like Knife Edge flight one bit. I preformed several rolling circles and attempted to enter several harrier rolling circles. While it would do it, the AOA would never really stick over 20%.

Ebay Accel Kat Fix Instructions
My dad bought a Accel Kat 70 at the swap meet last weekend. It has never been flown. The guy had the monokote peeled back off the front half of the fuse. He has laid some lightply on the area where the engine mounts and has fiberglassed the joints all around the wing. Are there any more mods that need to be done to keep it from exploding????

Way to Fragile [:@] If you have had one and flew it all year and its not busted your either better than chip hyde or dont fly 3D very low with it. They usually last about a month with me. I bought one at the swap meet yesterday for $15 still in the box. I think I am going to try to do something with it to stiffen it up.

RE: Green Model Spirit 3d Arf
Went out again a few minutes ago. The airplane flew great. The wind was still blowing around 10mph but I did get a better feel for the plane. Mine is nose heavy right now. It wouldnt hover well set up like it is and the rudder was less authoritive than I like. I am going to shift the CG and see what happens.[8D]

RE: Green Model Spirit 3d Arf
well....I did take the risk [:D] I couldnt help myself. There is about 30 acres they have just cleared and leveled for development one block from my house. To tell you the truth I still cant say how the plane flys. It was wayyyyy toooo windy!!! I felt lucky to get it on the ground without breaking anything. Wind was closer to 20 mph. I did like the fact that when I cut the power and pointed the nose into the wind it feathered down nicely with no wing rock. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

Its pretty good. Great is a stretch. AW Yak, QQ Yak, EF yak, PA Edge are Great. If you put it on a diet it will fly better. If you really CF it up you can get to great status.

RE: Green Model Spirit 3d Arf
I just bought one of these from the SE Model show. I am very new to electrics so go easy on me. I have owned a shocky and a tensor but wanted to try something that was a little more airplane like. [;)] Mine came ready to rock and roll. Hitech 55's TT 3C 1320 mAH 6 channel receiver Extreme Flights Torque 22T/930 It also has the speed control but I couldnt tell you what it is. All for $250 and not a scratch on it. If the wind will get right this afternoon I will put it to the test!! Next week we are going to shoot some video of the OMP Fusion and I will try to get some of this plane.

RE: Hovering and torque rolling
One thing to keep in mind is that you need to "read" the plane. Spend time with the plane until you are comfy enough to read its little quirks that its going to do before it does it. Its sort of like being able to see which direction its going to fall before it actually falls. On your simulator practice it low so you can get a really good reference of the plane. Probobly the biggest problem and mistake people make outside the rudder imputs is the elevator imputs Its harder to tell if the plane is tilting in towards the canopy too much and that can get whacky down low when exiting.

RE: Fusion wing question
My wing tube to my ARF was a shade too big and it seemed like an anti-rotation pin problem to me. Finally we inserted the wings all the way on the tube and held it up to the fues and the problem was obvious.
