RE: Alpha 40 with sticky alierons
I would check the ailaron tips to make sure they are not catching the wing. if there isnt a lot of clerance i would put a knife on each ailaron tip. I would also check the hinges if possible. Im not sure about the alpha trainer but some have hinges with pins through them and one might be bent. I would also check there is no glue in the hinges or covering that has got caut. Another good one to check is from the pushrod to the aileron. If one of those are bent they wont be running true. Hope this helps

RE: Ready for second plane?
Id go for something like a speed air 40 or if you want something realistick looking i would try the black horse models chipmunk 60 because they are strong and the landing gear is forward enough so it wont tip in

RE: Is my wing going to be okay!?
personaly i wouldent fly that. Id get a new wing if possible and for joining the wings i would glue them then leve the glue dry with the wings still atached to the plane like in flight

RE: pinch test
I dont bother with pinch test. I oppen the throttle to max then adjust untill the engine reaches max rpm then turn the needle 1/4 turn rich. After that i try the model pointing up and down and trim untill the engine keeps running

RE: GP RV-4, fuel tank....
Ive found about flying time it depends on your engine and how you tune it. in a trainer I had an evolution 40 enya ss40 and os 46La all used on the same plane and found every one ran for diferent lengths of time for each.

I would just tape the holes if they are only small. If they take up more than the space between 2 to 3 ribs then i would concider re covering

RE: chipmunk c of g problems
Hi i havent got any servoes in the tail. The model is artf so the servo plate has already been done. all the manual says is the c/g should be 100mm from the leading edge of the wing and doesent mention anything about the fusalage. The only other thing i could thinck of was getting lead on the rocker cover and straping it to the engine. I was just wondering if this would work

chipmunk c of g problems
Hi ive got a black horse models chipmunk and im having problems balancing the plane. I have got an os 70 ultimate four stroke engine in the plane. The balance point by the manual is 100mm from the leading edge of the wing. when i tried this the plane was so tail heavy i couldent get the tail off even with the battery and all my gear as far forward as i can get. i tried 8 oz of lead and still cant get the weight forward. Any sugestions would be gratefull

RE: Evolution Giving me Fits!
I had the same problem and it was dirt in the carburettor to clean it out you have to take the idle screw out and the other cap on the side of the carburettor. Then put a wire or something through till the wire goes all the way out. i Also took the bafle out of mine and it run great after that

RE: Wings held on with rubber bands?/Alternatives?
rubber bands are better than bolts because if you crash there is less chance of tearing the wing out and making more damage. In theory if you crash a model with rubber bands they are easyer to repair. If you had bolts you could have problems with the bolt mountings coming loose. Ihad mine come off and destroyed the plane cuz the wing bolt mounting plate came off during flight.

RE: First time engine start
Id clear the old fuel out of the engine. set your needle to 2 1/2 open. Remove the glow plug and turn it over until the fuel stops gushing out of the plug hole. Keep doing it till you can see only spray coming out the plug hole. Check to make sure the plug is working. If it is insert it and try to start the engine without priming it Using figers or starter you should get a result.

i dont thinck they sell spares like that but i thinck you can get control horns from a uk website which is srcm or slough radio controled models. Im not sure though. The other option is getting a few from a crashed plane.
