RE: engine for jato?
I want to upgrade mine for the trx 3.3, but later on... I'm having fun w/ the trx 2.5 for now... The 3.3 has 50% more power that the 2.5...

RE: jato, good truck or bad?
Jato is a awesome truck man, just needs some proline masher 200's and rpm arms. You will not be disapointed. Authough for uncut grass i'd rather have 4wd, but i love the speed of this 2wd...

Tires w/ sponge or w/o sponge... ?
I have a jato and I swapped the tires and wheels for a set of proline masher 2000's The truck takes grass and off road now like a champ. But tires mounted w/ the sponje ara a little heavier so i let the front tires w/o sponge so they are just on air... Now... wich is better?

RE: Jato Strength
Jato is the best bang for the buck! Just needs some 2.2 proline masher 2000 tires.

Traxxas jato exhaust upgrade
Somebody told me that if I change the exhaust on the jato I could get more power... But seems like the stock exhaust is already well built... Even looks bigger than any avaliable aftermarket pipe made for it... So... Is there a aftermarket pipe that would make more power on the TRX 2.5 than the stock one?

RE: I need help instaling a Venom Smart Temp on a Traxxas jato
Right... Well.. it only happens if you turn off the transmitter or if it gets too far so you can't reach anymore (It never happened) or maybe a battery failure or something like that. Today I was doing some testings, and it went pretty good. I set so the engine's temp wouldn't go over 275F... I found out I needed to richen the mixture a little because it actually hit that temp and the throttle would not go over 10%. I let it cool off, turned the hi-speed neddle 1/8 richer, and that was it.I'm running around 230-265F

RE: I need help instaling a Venom Smart Temp on a Traxxas jato
I got this thing working properly now... The problem was that the factory setting on the throttle servo was no good... (setting goes from 1 to 32, being 1 full trhottle, 32 full brakes) I set it to 31. This way truck actually brakes when you turn transmitter off. The temp safe also worked. The steering servos move when you turn off the transmitter but Venom says it's normal... well... as long as the truck has brakes aplied by the fail safe, it's not going out of control... Just stands there moving tires right and left...But I wish they would mention on the intructions that the stering servo moves like crazy when it looses touch w/ the transmitter...

RE: I need help instaling a Venom Smart Temp on a Traxxas jato
See... I thought I had hooked up a wrong wire or wrong connector or something... The store doesn't take eletronics back... I'll see if I can solve this problem w/ venom...

I need help instaling a Venom Smart Temp on a Traxxas jato
Well, they say to hook up the wire from the throtlle servo to the VST (Venom Smart Temp), and the wire from the VST to the truck's receiver... But i could not make it work... When I hook up the wire from the VST to the truck's receiver it makes the servos go crazy... what am I doing wrong? Does anybody has the VST on the Jato? It only works when the truck's switch is off... reads temperature and voltage, it it doen't work as a fail safe.

RE: Ok, I now own a Traxxas Jato... But I need help to start it...
I did the tuning like it shows on that video 1/8 at a time... WOW what a difference.... This thing is so fast now... I set it so it will reduce throttle if it hits 270F... But as at this moment I could not get the venom to work, It gives me the actual temperarure, the max temp recorded on the run, and the actual batt. voltage, but I can't make it work as a fail safe. has to do w/ the wirering... says on the manual to connect the wire to the receiver but when i do it and turn off the transmittter, servos go crazy... so i let it unconnected. At least i know what temperature i'm running and the batteries Volts.

I'm setting up the Venom Smart Temp here... Just to be on the safe side... What would be a max temp set up for the TRX 2.5? 260F? Isays here adjust max temp acording to manuf. manual, but the manual it's not here yet...

RE: Ok, I now own a Traxxas Jato... But I need help to start it...
Hehe, that's awesome, I'm really having a blast w/ mine... It didn't lift the front while shifting to second yet... Maybe because need to be tunned and adjusted, it's really fast but i think I can get more power out of it if I lean it out a little ( I got it at 3. 3/4 turns out from closed now) get the settings right... and also.. is there a way to adjust second gear shifting (clutch)? that might have something to do w/ it too becouse I could not notice it go from 1st to 2nd...

RE: Ok, I now own a Traxxas Jato... But I need help to start it...
True, with the impact, something is gonna break, better be the shock tower than anything else... I'll glue this tire tonight... it won't get away again hehe

RE: Ok, I now own a Traxxas Jato... But I need help to start it...
Right, this particular tire is letting air out around the sidewall, unlikely the other ones... So should I super glue it? If I get a aluminum rear shock tower it would eliminate the "problem" of rear landing high jumps right? I did't get to break it yet, but just wondering if it's a good investiment... $24.00

RE: Ok, I now own a Traxxas Jato... But I need help to start it...
I took this thing out to the construction site today... WOW, this truck is what nitro truck is all about, takes obstacles like a champ, it flipped over many times because I'm not used to the truck/gravity/flying abilities... Got some good landings too...[:D]Makes dougnuts like crazy on loose surfaces but that's easy to control on the gas, I had no problems at all except that one of the rear tires flew out of the rim at about 50mp/h I stopped the truck and went after the spinnig tire (after market off road tire). I put the tire back in, works fine except that leaks air when you press it... I'll just put some silicone around the tire/rim to seal it I guess...

Oh ok, makes sense... I'll take mine tomorrow to a construction zone so the truck can take some air... I got the suspension adjustment on high, I'll tell how it goes tomorrow... I used the stock tires down the street today... this thing flyes low... Tomorrow of road tires, constuction zone hehe... I think I need to get oil for this air filter right?

I just turned the neddle adj 4 turns out from closed... I thing I had the setting messed up when trying too much to start when I didn't have gas going to the carbs the first time... I'll lean it out a little later but is kicking ass as it is...
