RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System
Personal Review of the Aurora 9. First let me say that I have flown Futaba Radios for 30 yrs. but I am not married to them. So I say the new Aurora 9 advertised last year and I had to have one. I received mine from TBM back in January and I have flown it in a 33% Hanger 9 Edge several flights. Pros This is the easiest radio to set up that I have ever used. Touch screen is awesome. Channel selection is great you can make any channel what you want it to be mine has 1&2 on Elev. 3&4 aileron 5 Rudder 6 Throttle it just doesen't matter how you set it up. Great stick movement very smooth with the double ball bearings. And this is a great looking Radio. Price is very affordable and the quality is great. ( The absolute best bang for you buck. ) To many features to mention. Cons The transmitter battery or charger is not the best but with what you pay for the radio you can easily change it to a lipo, even though the battery is lasting thru all of the daily flights with no problem. It is hard to find anything wrong with this system at all.

RE: KEN/TEN FLYING
Jim, I did make it to Paducah Saturday. Mainly it was me and Kyle doing most of the flying, wind did die down a bit in the afternoon and a few more flew. We are still talking about when to have someting at Benton let you know as soon as we can make plans. Frank we are going to move the rudder servo up and put pull-pull on it. Not sure what else we can do, and Bill will be ordering him a motor soon maybe the MT80 or he may get a 50 like mine, surprising how well it flys the plane. Hope to get a date for Benton soon and have all of you guys over for some good flying and burgers or something. Kenny Colson

RE: KEN/TEN FLYING
Hey guys, Bill bought a aero-works 75cc extra 260 from Jerry last weekend so we decided to try out the new Tenergy 50HP on it just to see what it would do. Had alot of problems trying to get the CG any where near where it should be, made some sub C battery packs and monted on the motor box. Anyway we flew it Sunday at the field Aeroworks 260 75cc size weight 21.5 lbs CG about 1.5 in back from the wing tube with 24 oz of fuel added. You wont believe how well it flew harriers rolling harriers even hovers , not much on pull out but does fly better than it did with a DA 85 upfront. Only about half or 3/4 of a gallon of fuel run in the engine and it is putting out 6570rpm on a 22x10 xoar prop and 32.5 lb thrust on the ground. So fan the engine is rock solid. Kenny

Okay now you guys have really gone and done it, don't them dare pics ever go away. NO!NO! Did have a wonderful time Saturday at UC, great friends and great flying. Hey Doug is the pipe for a 40 or 60 cc jet engine, sure would like to put one on mine. We had a good day yesterday for flying at Benton, a couple of new pilots with the rest of the gang. Hope to get some plans on having you guy there in August or September, we have still got to see if Bill or Jim has the fastest delta. Pictures of the ribs and the steaks both make me hungry. Bubba

That would be funny Frank, watch Dauber ride a bike and spit that old brown mess into the wind, what would his face look like by the time he got home? HA!HA! Well this week-end looks like it might be better for all of us keep your fingers crossed and the gas on ready. I just put a AR7000 into the 41% Wildhare Extra last night so it is about ready to go when all of this wind and rain stops. Hey Dauber got a chew for me. Kenny

David and myself flew Sunday Morning at from about 9 untill 11:30, it was very windy but we had fun flying the spoilers. Funny how you can do rolling harriers in one spot and backwards in the wind. Greg, go by WAll-mart and get a small hot glue gun and some glue sticks. Works great on foamies, I have used it a bunch. Hope to make it to Union City next week-end and let Jim give us another lesson in flying although he doesn't have the trees to fly thru any more. Pine-cone Colson

Hey brewski can you show us a picture of the TBM battery changes. The nano phoosphate is the battery that I was looking at looks like two of them would work great in my 41% Wildhare. I already have deans pins on my switches and on my power expander.

RE: KEN/TEN FLYING
Frank which A123 batteries are you running. I see that TBM has some at a lower price than they used to be. The fromeco are listed at 7.5v which is the high end charge for them, I don't know why they don't list them as 6.6 like all the others. I may buy 2 of them to use in the big WH 300 and save some weight. Bubba (Spoiler-man Pinecone) Colson

OS WARRENTY BEWARE !!!
Beware of OS warrenty on the 120 engine. Just received word from them that the warrenty does not cover damage due to varnish. How many 2 strock engines that have run for a year do you see without varnish. Last one of there products that I will purchase.

I thought about flying a kite in it, but just didn't have one handy. I wont be flying this week-end either, I am leaving for Michigan early Sat. morning to catch some salmon. Hopefully I will get back on Friday the 26th and I will be ready for some hucking. Yea Frank I know the story you do one thing on time and your called something or land in one tree one time and your called Pine cone forever. Dauber, I just can't wait for that special chew, just a pench between your cheak and gum. HA HA It wont be long before building time comes again, not sure about what my next project will be. Kenny

RE: Spoiler/Big Boy family and friends
High winds and tree damage kelpt most of us busy this last weekend. Hope that everyone has power back by now I know that myself and David was out untill late Monday night. Some of the guys were at Henderson Saturday and witnessed the awful B-29 crash of Mac Hodges, sorry for your loss Mac hopefully there is another one in your future. Maybe this week-end will be great for some hucking spoilers and big boys. I am leaving either Sat or Sunday to go to Michigan and do some salmon fishing so I may not get any hucking in untill I get back. I wonder who is going to have to feed RR this week-end, he is saving his pennys for a new 35%er so someone will have to feed him again. Pine Cob Colson

RE: Spoiler/Big Boy family and friends
10lb is a good weight with what all that you have listed. Mine has the washer mount on the engine hitec servos aluminum gear 2500mah AA battery 6volt pack not the sub Cs. The prototype also has an aluminum wing tube which may add just a little bit of weight, but will be better for hauling. It sound like you are getting very close with the prototype, hope that it is flying up to your expections. Bubba

My last scratch built is 9.5lb with a 120 thundertigre or right at 10lb with a OS 160. Ditto on the 11 and 2oz tanks, get close to 20min flights. Sounds like the protos are going good. Bubba

Got my Edges cleaned up and ready to huck some more, now I am having to do some maintenance on the Funtana X, changing mufflers and clean up mostly.
