RE: Redcat Volcano parts in Canada?
ORIGINAL: EvilBunny I have recently been in contact with Sebastien about some parts i was going to order right from redcat, but i won't use the Redcat in the states and they only ship UPS to Canada, so they gave my email address to Sebastien and he contacted me right away. so far so good. i hope this will be the beginning of a beautiful business relationship. i would rather order from a Canadian source anyday, even if it does cost more, its still cheaper
Hi EvilBunny, Thanks a lot for your good words! I am working very hard to give the best service as possible to my customers because this is my first priority. So since few months, i have experimented a very big increase of my sales and i have not been able to give a customer service like i would do for my customers. Because of that, i want to sincerly say sorry to ALL the customers who have leaved me an email and didn't received reply quickly and to all the customers who wasn't been happy with my service. Usually, i am trying to answer to all my emails within 1 or 2 days maximum. But during those few months, i know that i haven't replied all my emails within 2 days. I want to tell you sorry again. Presently, i am working alone in my business that i have started since 2 1/2 years. I am thinking to be able to pay someone part time to help me because i am very need help now! Why i haven't ask someone to help me before today? It's because i was not able to pay someone to help me and this is a real problem for me since few months and this situation have gave me a lot of headaches. I am trying to optimized my time each days long to be able to do my best to : reply emails, prepare and send estimate, do orders to my different supplier, place stock, do inventories, answer phone, prepare and ship orders, etc... And more than that, i haven't finished yet to built my store inside my house: I have converted my house basement to be able to have a R/C store. So i am very confident to be able to pay a part time guy to help me shortly. This is a very good news for me and for my customers. Mostly all my puplicity is made by my customers and a little part of this puplicity is made with ads. Si it is very important for me that my customers are satisfied. So listen that: If you are or have been a customer of me or if you know of customers who are not satisfied with my service or something else, please tell them to contact me at: sebastien.tremblay@nitrospeedrc. com and I will do my best to make them happy. Why? Because it is an obligation, a goal for me and because it is proved that an unsatisfied customer will influence more people that a satisfied customer can do it! I just want to tell you again that i have started a new service: Ready To Run Custom Kit (RTRCK). What is it? This new service allow you to built your own custom kit like a pro kit will offer you without the heavy cost of a pro kit! But, my new service allow you more customized possibility than a pro kit because you can remove ALL the parts you don't want with my service but you can't do that with a pro kit! Hey, this mean better customized possibility than pro kits for the cost of a RTR vehicules. When you choose the RTRCK service, you have 2 possibility to complete the construction of your new vehicule: with me or without me. This mean you can ask me, for exemple, to remove the stock engine and replace with an other one or you can just ask me to remove the stocl engine and let you install your own engine. Finally, if you find a better price for same parts from a store located in Canada (that must be a regular price, not a liquidation or a special sale price), i will do my best to give you same price! If i am looking in the past, i have been able to sell at same cost almost all the time....so don't take chance and get estimate from other sellers and compare prices. Then ask me if i can sell at same price! Please tell this email to all your friends, brothers, parents, etc... Thanks a lot to have taked your time to read this message! Best regards Sebstieb

RE: Cross-post: Canadians ordering parts from USA?
ORIGINAL: a4d2a0m that is a pretty great idea!! would like to see what you offer for price breaks (if the savings are greater than jst installing it yourself and having a spare motor)... but it would prob make upgrades a little easier on the pocket. Keep me posted!
Hi a4d2a0m, Like you have said, the problem with all RTR is about parts we don't want! For exemple, if someone bought Monsoon but don't need both stock servos, he will have to remove both servos and replace them with his own. This situation is non economic! My new service will prevent him losing money and will allow him to buy extra parts with the money he have saved! For the moment, even if i haven't start officially this new service, if someone want to buy a custom RTR car from me, that is POSSIBLE!! So if you want to have a quote, just tell me which RTR you want to know my cost and tell me which parts you want to remove. At this time, a customer have 2 choice: first one is asking me to remove parts but don't replace them. The second choice is still removing some parts but ask me to replace them with some parts. For exemple, this customer may want to replace the stock 9001 servo with a more powerfull servos. So by keeping both stock servos, i could allow him a credit! P.S. Sorry for my bad english! French is my first language! Regards Sebastien Nitro Speed R/C

RE: PARTS:what should i buy?
ORIGINAL: AllAboutFunHobbies
ORIGINAL: far18 I have a tornado bb. I want a set of tires that will give it more lift. Maybe monster truck tires or something that will fit the buggy. hmm.. maybe even a larger engine? .28 sized engine that would fit if possible.. (which i have no clue what to get-what kind etc) ANY ideas at all?[8|] [:D] thanks in advance.
Ya bro, you don't want to go with bigger tires with that two speed. You'll never hit second gear the thing will actually slow down. If you realy wanted to get bigger tires I would suggest something along the lines of proline 2.2 size tires. There not to big and it will still hit second gear. If you realy want to go with 2.8 size tires, then I would suggest changing the transmission out to the single gear set up. 2.2 tires: [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_85]http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_85[/link] 2.2 rims: [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_78]http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_78[/link] 2.8 tires: [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_84]http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_84[/link] 2.8 rims: [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_79]http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/index.php/cPath/4_79[/link] Single Speed Transmission Set up: [link=http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/149]http://allaboutfunhobbies.com/store/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/149[/link]
Hi, You have almost repeat what i have said to him! RE: Volcano troubles
ORIGINAL: ZWJATO Today was the first time I tried my Volcano. I have never had a redcat product, but have quite a bit of experience with nitro R/C's, mostly Traxxas products. So I was wanting to break it in today and went through what I thought were the standard procedures. Put in new glow plug Check all servos Fill with fuel Check glow stick prime fuel system install glow stick pull start I pulled the starter probably 50 times, taking a few breaks in between. Never even sputtered or fired or nothing. Then after a little bit the driveline starting coming apart! The clutch bell and flywheel are LOOSE! I can't see what holding the clutch bell on the end but it's loose. Its not lining up with the other gears and it's kinda silly to have to take the whole thing apart before I even get to run the car! What can Redcat do about this? Thank you. Feel free to contact me by replying to this forum or emailing zwebb@utk.edu. Ive heard good things about redcat, their cars, and customer service. Hopefully this can be resolved.
Even if your truck is new, have you check if your engine glow plug work good? To do that, just gently remove the glow plug with the special tool include in the starter kit (maybe you haven't buy the start kit because you have been owner of other nitro vehicule!). If you don't have this kit, just use your own tool to remove it. Then, take care to not burn your finger and put your glow plug igniter on the glow plug and see if there is any sign of heat and orange-yellow color under the glow plug. To do that, you must be sure that your glow plug igniter is fully charge!!! Sorry for this stupid check up, but i have done several time glow plug verification in the past without to be sure that glow plug igniter was fully charged! So this situation may give false negative result. Ok, so if your glow plug doesn't give any sigh of heat or color, your problem is find. If the glow plug is ok, take your time to see inside the hole where the glow plug goes on the engine and look if there is a lot of nitro fuel on the top of piston. Because if there is too many fuel this may cause hard starting. For myself, i use air compressor and gntly blow up air in the hole to remove some nitro fuel from the top of the piston. Then replace your glow plug and verify this: remove the air filter on the carburator, you should have only 1 mm of space to let air enter the engine. If you have less or more, find the little screw under the air filter and turn clockwise to increase the space and couterclockwise to decrease the space inside the carb. So i am sorry for this long reply, but i am hope to have help you with that! Maybe i have give you informations that you already know, if it's the case, this infos may help other person from this forum. If you need more specific help or specific questions, just ask and i will try to help! Merry Christmas time! Sebastien Nitro Speed R/C

RE: PARTS:what should i buy?
Hi far18, Because of the gear ratio, i don't suggest you to go with higher tire setup. Just think of the tsunami that wear bigger tire and the gear ratio is not good for this car because it have a lot of difficulty to reach the second gear. So if you want to go with higer tire, maybe you should look to get a 1 speed shorter gear ratio transmission. That would help a lot your buggy to accelerate a lot better and have a better bottom end power. If you still want to go with bigger tire, i may have some several choice i can sen you in pm. Just pm me if you want more info about that! Merry Christmas! Sebastien Nitro Speed R/C

For the moment i haven't a website but i am suppose to have one around the end of the next spring but maybe before. That will depend of my availability to do this work! In few month, i should have finished a table for all the vehicule and the price for all price that can be removed from each vehicule. For exemple, for an Avalanche, you will be able to see the amount i would remove from the total by removing the servos or the SH-28 engine. Regards Sebastien
ORIGINAL: tihstae that sounds like an amazing idea, i would totally buy for you if i was in canada. its nice that they can pick what they want. like a lot of people take out the radio and replace it, but that just wastes money, and the rtm doesnt come with an engine so you have to spend more money. so ya i think its a great idea
Hi tihstae, When i will have finished the table, you will be able to see how much money i would remove from the total cost by removing the Tx/Rx. Then, you will be able to compare if that would be cheaper to buy here even if i am located in Canada because you would save money by removing those parts. Please continue to tell me your opinions about what i want to do. Then, if you have any suggestion, please give them to me! Regards Sebastien Nitro Speed R/C

RE: Clermont hobby shiping to canada?
thanks alot to you too! i am sorry for the delay...i am very busy since few month and i haven't a lot of time to get here on the forum! I am working about a lot of new service like: > All the Redcat Racing RTR may be modifiable like pro kit. For exemple: A customer of me wanted to buy an Avalanche but won't keep 2 servos and tx/rx kit. SO i have removed parts for him and lower the cost of the kit! Here an other exemple: An other customer ask me to remove stock engine on tornado bb and replace by O.S .18 CVR-X engine. I have done that for him! I want to offer the possibility to my customers to built their vehicules with the parts they really wanted to have and the most important thing is to avoid to put in garbage all the unwanted parts they have bought in RTR kit. So i have a very very good felling about this new service and since i have start it, a lot of persons told me that is a very good idea! What i am thinking about that is: Why we need to buy a very very expensive kit to let us the possibility of put what we want in our vehicules....don't you think same thing than me?? Please let me know your opinion about this new service. Last thing: Before buy a new vehicules from someone else, please ask me to try to sell at same price than my competitor! Best regards Sebastien

RE: redcat in canada?
Hi everyone, I am sorry because i haven't came here since a long time! The reason is i am still building my store and i am very very busy. BUT, i am always take time to serve my customers!!! About redcat racing dealer, i am the only autorized dealer for Quebec city and around. About the Canada, i have customers from east to west. So its very easy for me to ship parts and vehicules all around the country. In reality, i can ship almost everywhere around the world. For the moment, because my business is still pretty new, the only possible payment method are: Cash, paypal, C.O.D. I am pretty sure to be able to take on the next summer Interac Direct Payment and credit cards too! These new way of payment will be very appreciate by a lot of my customers. Since few weeks, i am trying very hard to give the lower price as possible to customers who find better price than mine. So, if you need something, if you find a store who sell same items cheaper, just give me the proof and i will work very hard to give you same price. I DONT GARANTEED to offer better price but i will do my best to do that! So, that would cost you nothing more to ask my prices before buy from someone. So give me my chance and maybe you will be very happy to pay less and get a very good customer service!!! I have started a new very nice service lately for all my customers: i am able to built a custom RTR vehicules with all the models you find on Redcat Racing website. For exemple, if someone want to remove the stock steering servo from the 1/8 monster truck Avalanche and replace with a Hitec model, it will be possible to do that. But, if i haven't in stock a replacement part needed by a customer, i will do my possible to order this parts from my different suppliers. Moreover, this service is also avalaible for someone who want to buy a vehicule without one or more parts, depend on what customer want or do not want to. By this way, that will not be necessary to lost your money by buying 2 stock servos that you know you will remove and replace them with other models. For the moment i haven't any chart to let you know how much i will remove by taking off "X" parts from a stock vehicule. BUT, i am ABLE to do that since NOW and if you want to get more infos about that service, just let me know by email or by phone. Probably during this next winter, i will be able to present a chart for each model and you'll be able to know how much money I can deduct on the price of a vehicle by removing "X" part (s). For example, if a customer want an avalanche without TX / RX and without two servos, he'll be able to know my selling price with this table. Is not this good news this new service? If you need something, just drop me an email at sebastien.tremblay@nitrospeedrc.com and i will be very happy to serve you. Sincerly Seb To the moderate guys: if my message don't respect a forum rule, please just tell me why and i will correct my message. Please don't deleted it!!! My first goal was to answer the question of canuck5902. Second goal, I have added some important infos to let him know the payment methods and my new service. I had some doubt that my new service could interested the members of this forum!
