RE: landing a voodoo
I use spoilerons. Haven't tried flaps but some who do, fly too slow and stall which usually ends up badly. W/spoilerons, I come in hot but it dies real quick and stops pretty much where I want it. In either case, be ready for a huge pitch change when they're deployed!

RE: 65
I have both. Love both. The Fusion does pinwheels better, hovers better. The Mojo65 spins a touch better and does rolling circles a bit better and slightly better KE. I take the Mojo off and go straight into a ke the length of the runway and hold it a foot off without even thinking about it. Very stable. The Fusion does do the IMAC stuff better and if you want a little of both - get it. The Mojo is better (only slightly) on the 3D side. One place the Mojo excedls at however is strength. I've landed upside down, bottomed out on a loop hard into the ground, cartwheeled it, and did other very abusive things and its still going strong! THe FUsion has requierd 2 new fuselages and 2 wing replacements in its lifespan. Plus I hear the Fusion is being replaced by an improved version (and I hope to be 1st in line! ) real soon.I've also had a Aeroworks Pro x260 60-90 size and either of these fly way better than it can.

RE: I need a good spinner for 3mm shaft 2600kv motor
you could get a Pro Spin PS38 38mm 1/8" (3.2mm), and a PC33 3mm collet for PS38 for your shaft Think Maxx also has the same thing w/a 3mm replacement collett

RE: 50cc Reactor
I love my Reactor but the gear is bad. If the mount is solid, run a music wire from one side to the other (did this on mine and never had a problem after) to keep the gear from spreading. Otherwise, cut in and put a new mount and use another gear - I used a CF left over from another plane on my 2nd Reactor and its still going strong.

RE: GP Reactor Bipe strengthening
I have a DLE-20 and abuse it terribly. Full power outside snaps, blenders, etc. Fly it harder than my Velox and I snapped the wing off that one last week. Stock. Except added music wire between the wheels to keep the prop from breaking when the gear spreads and a little extra bracing for the engine.

RE: Great Planes 60 size reactor bipe
I have a dle-20 in mine...the 110 would be better. It flys well w/the dle but the difference in weight is noticeable. Its more fun w/the lighter engines..

RE: NEW DLE 20cc Gasser! (Data & Links 1st Post)
ghoffman I had a Velox but like the 65" Vyper a lot more w/ the DLE-20 http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=14314 as far as slabs The Valley View's and Aerowork's aren't near as much fun as the OPM 67" Fusion or Mojo 65 (if you want to build a bit). Flown them all.

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?
wyo, your lucky to be unlucky since the fuse's have just got back in stock! Spun a GP M12 in last week similar to yours and found out something.. We've lost a fair # of planes here but nairy a one since the Raptors where grounded. Makes on wonder.. But the Pitts spun in..a hightime, Nat'l, full size glider pilot noticed something about our field. Near the cross crunways there is a perpetual zone of lift,,and a bit further is an area of sink. Flying a DLE-55 Slick thru the sink zone and it dropped unbelievably fast and barely powered out. I bought a glider and trolled the field and sure enough, thaat are has a tremendous amount of sink and could easily explain why I could recover. I had plenty of time and control all the way in. I also have many decades of practice! Just one more, hmmmm, to think about for your post-crash analysis..

RE: multiple throttle servo failures
Friend and I have identical planes and setups. He's burned 3 throttle servos and none for me. Only difference? I unhook the throttle return spring so...try it - might work :) He did and hasn't burned any more throttle servos..

Maidened a GP reactor bipe w/the DLE-20 today! Good match for the plane. Had fun w/the electric version and the gasser is just as fun only..no waiting for batteries to charge! cheers, Mike

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
I would have replace the LG plate itself w/some good quality ply but, if you didn't, maybe a metal plate between the gear and ply to stiffen/strengthen it? Haven't had a single problem after I replaced the LG plate in mine w/marine ply and adding gussets. It is a poorly made area on the plane fer sure.

I have no idea what the weight is..I don't weigh planes anymore but "feels" about the same as the Aeroworks 60-90 Extra 300, not heavy for sure.

RE: Nitro Models Extra 330 90 - 63
Pictures? OK the 1st pic shows the interior layout the next 2 are where the servos are for the tail feathers next is the new hole for the wheel axle a pic of the battery placement used for the maiden and how I widened/lengthened the motor mount area. Also added ply to both sides and top of the motor box to stiffen it the bottom where I put the ignition. You might also notice the hose clamp I use on the sprak plug cap Last pic is the new battery location (haven't flown it this way yet). Only moved the CG about 1/8" (I like 'em really aft). It was near neutral w/the original battery location. cheers, Mike

RE: Nitro Models Extra 330 90 - 63
Took a pic after my lunchtime maiden! Put a DLE-20 in it. A SUPERB match. Reall great thrust and response. Didn't have enough rudder authority to do some higher end KE stuff so will increase the throw an skootch the CG back a smidge. I put 3 servos in the tail thinking the CG would be forward w/a gasser...mistake..should used pull/pull on the rudder and the battery would be in a better locale. Had to put in front of the firewall to get the proper CG. Will probably change it to pull/pull to see if there's much difference a a later time. Mods for the DLE-20: drilled new axle holes about a 1/4" lower to get better prop clearance and used 3" tires. - no problems encountered (or expected) swinging a 16x8 prop put ply on each side and top of the engine box to give it more support. that's all that was needed.. cheers, Mike

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
To repair my gear, I ordered the blue covering then removed the balsa from the bottom of the nose and used a hacksaw to cut the LG plate out. Replaced it w/some hardwood and added bracing wherever I could. I put the gear back on then put new balsa on, not bothering to cut holes for removal (although I did note where to cut holes if I ever need to remove the gear). After recovering, it's solid. I even pranged it hard when landing nose down and - no problem. If it delaminates - will be jumping on that GP gear replacement offer!

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
I've had zero problems w/the airframe. The stock LG looks fine. I did replace the landing gear plate and made it a bit sturdier. Also re: previous post. The CF pegs on the cabanes worked loose at the front so had to use nut/bolt on the top/front of each. Still using the pegs on the other 6 holes.

RE: Great Planes 25% Pitts M-12s 3D
They work! Trying to shorten the field assembly time, I made some pegs out of CF and heat shrink to hold the cabanes on. Tried it today and they worked great! Put the Pitts through a pretty good regimen of KE snaps and KE loops, tumbles, lots of KE, and purt near every standard maneuver. After landing the pegs hadn't budged. (I use a similar setup to hold on the hatches of my 50cc planes and never had a problem). Assembly time is around 5 minutes now.. Just get some CF (not sure of the size but probably around 2mm) and shrink some heat shrink to give the fuel line something to hold onto.. I CA'd the ends w/washers that go on the cabane side. Insert and push enough to make the fuel tube compress a little bit. Initially I used to layers of shrink tube but the holes in the metal part are smaller than the ones in the cabanes so went with a single layer. THe ones in the picture have been shortened to about 1/2 the length you see)
