Wait until you see some of the guys who are coming next week end to show us how it all really gets done at the HELICOPTER GATHERING. You will go away talking to yourself. I know I will be. Many of the best flyers in the world will be here with us at the HELICOPTER GATHERING. I am humbled to watch many of these monsters go at it. And not too much humbles me anymore. Thanks for all the support guys. You all have made the HELICOPTER GATHERING what it has become. We only supply the time and the place for us to all go at it. The " Ultimate Helicopter Gathering " September 8th, 9th, and 10th. Near Atlantic City, New Jersey. We have the " Derby " for you guys. 1000. bucks to the winner. No special flying talent is required. Does not make any difference how good you can fly to win. Only matters how clever and inventive you are to win. The " DERBY " is an equal and matched event for everyone who jumps into it. If we have too many entries for the first " Derby ", we will run a second " Derby ". And we will award another 1000. bucks as first prize for that one too. If not, we will offer another 1000. bucks for some other event. One we dream up that weekend. Hello to all you "BIG HITTERS". I just got home from the HELICOPTER GATHERING myself. When I left the site there were still going at it hot and heavy. It is truly amazing to see how good many of the sport fliers can fly now. Time has passed me by. But it has been so interesting to see the progression of flying it was worth the 30 plus years for me personally to witness the evolution of RC helicopters. And the flying talent out there that is not even well known yet is staggering. My fun meter was pegged out as far as it could go just to witness some of these guys go at it. Fliers like Jeff from Ohio, Jerry from Conn., Bobby from MD., Little Joe from N.J., Pete from Mich,, Will from MD., Todd Bennet from Calif. I can go on and on. There are so many who came that can wiggle the sticks in all the right directions the list is just too long to write down here. Many you already know were here. And there were many you will soon know that were here as well. These guys and others are just a joy to watch when they let it all hang out while flying a model helicopter. Beastie you are the premier flight animal. We are all in love with the dark side of your flying. You need to get rid of that Furious and fly a real helicopter like the "Heliboy". With all the talent a "Heliboy" would move you into a whole new level of flying. Ha! Ha! It was really good to see you again. Thanks for helping many here who neded a little push to get their helicopters going while you were here. Appreciate you took time to spread the experience you have on to others. We appreciate so many of you BIG HITTERS that took the time to help others who were here. It is hard to describe how impressed a novice flyer is when an expert like Bestie, Jerry, Alan, and others of this caliber help them to get their helicopters going. Thanks to all you guys who helped others while at the GATHERING. A sincere thanks to you guys from all of us here. Dino what can I say. You are a treat. Thanks for coming. See you soon again. Alan and Danny Szabo were here with us. They came here from NV. with their dad Alan Sr. again this year. What could I say about these guys most of you all don't already know about this family. Alan flys like the devil himself. And his brother Danny is not too far behind him. Their father Al Sr. could not be prouder of these guys. Eveytime we meet this family you feel like you have known them a lifetime. They are all supportive of other fliers at every helicopter event. A BIG thanks for making it to our HELICOPTER GATHERING again this year. Hope you all enjoyed the event as much as we enjoyed having you all here. What else can I say. Hope to see you all again before the next GATHERING rolls around. I would like to personally thank every one who attended the HELICOPTER GATHERING. You guys make the event. We just provided the setting. Both days seemed to come off casual and comfortable as usual all. Hope everyone left satisfied that they made the trip here. We all ate and had cold drinks until we were full. We all flew about as much as we all wanted. The radio pins came in and out smoothly. Loads of flying stations were availible, and all the flying all came off smoothly. Even the "DERBY" came off without a hitch. Started off slow but it ended up to be a very interesting event to witness during the last 5 minutes for many of us. Bobby W. from MD. was the winner of our little the "DERBY", event, and the cash prize of 500. bucks. You were very BIG in the last 30 seconds of the "DERBY" Bobby. Congrat's to your win from all of us. And congrat's to your sponser Ray Morey. You guys slid that win in by a few seconds. A wonderful finish. We will post all the winners of the contributed raffel prizes. As soon as the information is availible to me I will post the winners of the prize raffels. Congrat's to all the winners. Mike Mas and Linda from the Rotory mag. came up from VA. to cover the HELICOPTER GATHERING event. My personal thanks to both of them. I have been flying model helicopters with Mike Mas for over 30 years. And I have been friends with Mike for just as long. Love him or hate him Mike has made many notable contributions to the model helicopter hobby. And he has acomplished this for well over three decades. His track record speaks for itself. Thanks for coming Mike. You are a real pal. Glad we went the distance together. Our mutual friend Helicopter John could not make it here with us this year. He stayed down south to help many people with the trouble created by the bad weather that recently ripped through that area. We missed you John. Hope things are going resonably well for you down there at the moment. If there is anything some of us here can do to help people you know affected by the weather please let us know. Hi Everyone, There are quite a few people coming in early on Friday night at the flying site. Anyone that would like to come early and do some flying please feel free to come this afternoon. Getting to the site late Friday afternoon is fine. Help yourself to the facility. By the time you get there there will probably be others there already setting up there campers for the weekend. Some of us will also be there too Friday late afternoon setting up for Saturday and Sunday. Also if you happen to come up on Friday afternoon you can head into Atlantic City N.J. as night falls. Take in some of the action over there while you are in this neck of the woods. It has the boardwalk, casinos, shows, and some very hot night life. The hotels and casino area in Atlantic City has just about anything you might want for night life action. See you all here! OC Bob

OC's HELICOPTER GATHERING The dates are September 3rd and 4th. "THIS COMING WEEKEND" You are all invited to join in. Everyone is welcome. You bring those helicopters, and the desire we all share for these things, and we will provide the rest. If you attend the HELICOPTER GATHERING you won't be disapointed. Here is some of things you will enjoy while here. A very large and comfortable flying site. With many flying stations. We do not want to keep you BIG HITTERS sitting around waiting to fly. We will make extra flying stations if needed. You got the freq. pin you have at it. When you are done turn the freq. pin back in for the next person. Just that simple. Free food and drinks for all who attend. That is where you will probably find me most of the time, eating. All registered flyer's are entered into a free prize raffel. And the prizes are all decent and useful ones. Helicopter kits, a complete radio system, a couple of governors from Model Avionics and CSM. A gift certificate for a new CSM 720 Smart lock gyro system. A couple sets of carbon fiber rotor blades. There are some other assorted prizes as well. We will post a list of the prize contributors when we have the total lists compiled. Our sincere thanks to our prize supporters. We all give them business. Please support them and their respective companies whenever you can. We make it happen for them through our support, and they make it happen for us with their great RC products and customer support. We will hold the "DERBY" on Sunday after noon. The "DERBY" is our own little HELICOPTER GATHERING exclusive. Nothing hard to do at all. Just fly straight and level in a circle course. Last helicopter in the air wins. Last guy in the air still running with fuel wins 500. bucks. No special flying skills needed so anyone can enter. Take a shot. Should be a bit of fun huh? We also will have some guest flyers here both days to knock our socks off. To begin with "Alan and Danny Szabo" will be here. Putting it simply they will show us how it gets done. These guys need no introduction. If you don't know these brothers two wait until you get a load of their flying. In a word it is, "OUTSTANDING". Their father Alan Sr. will be here with them as well. The entire family is a pleasure to be with. They are helpful and sincere people along with being sound professtionals. My personal thanks to all of you for coming to be with us at the HELICOPTER GATHERING . "Todd Bennet" will also be with us at the HELICOPTER GATHERING this weekend. This guy also needs no introduction. On Monday and Tuesday he will be running a 3 D training class for anyone who may be interested in learning the tricks of the trade. The guy is tops when it comes to teaching in the 3 D arena. HOTELS Hi Everyone, We are getting many P.M.'s asking where there are hotels with decent rates. Ones with resonable driving time to the HELICOPTER GATHERING. There are two hotels about 25 to 30 minutes drive from the flying site where the rates and availibility over the holiday should be pretty good. The Ramada Inn in Vineland N.J. 856-696-3800 The Millville Motor Inn in Millville N.J. 856-825-4700 Try these two hotels if you are having trouble getting good rates at the others in the area over the holiday weekend. These two should offer decent rates and room availibility should be good. The Ramada Inn is a good first choice if the rates and availibility are good. The Millville Motor Inn is probably the most resonable for rates if you are looking for a bath and bed. OC Bob

We got it all up here for you Labor Day weekend. Just jump on Air Tran or Spirit airlines and come up for the weekend. The rates to Phila. and Atlantic City are pretty dam cheap. I'll even lend you a helicopter to fly while you are here. You could run on over to the White House sub shop and get one of those cheese steaks too. Must have been from this area at one time right? OC's HELICOPTER GATHERING
We wish to thank everyone who attended the Helicopter Gathering 2. You guys made the event. Our dedicated Sunday morning helicopter group here near Atlantic City N.J. put our best foot forward for you guys. We tried to make the gathering a good experience for all who attended. I personally wish to thank Mike Mas at the Rotory publications for attending. He provided the coverage for our helicopter gathering. I can't wait to see the articals and photos concerning it published in Rotory. Alan Szabo Sr., Alan Szabo Jr., and Danny Szabo. What can you say, great fliers and fabulous people. They traveled in from Nevada to provide helicopter flying demos for all of us at the gathering. Again, you guys are first class fliers, and are first class people as well. Your appreciation and interaction with others in the hobby has changed the face of it. Alan and Danny are top shelf fliers, but they are also just like you and me. A credit to Al Sr. and Mom to be very very proud of. Thanks from all of us here for coming to the helicopter gathering once again. We also wish to express our heart felt appreciation the companies which contributed the prizes for the helicopter gathering participants. We had helicopter prizes, radios and equipment, gyro systems, governors, glow systems, helicopter blades, metal accesories, fuel, and wearing apparel. The attendence won these gifts in a free raffel Sunday afternoon. Jeff Green from Hirobo joined us as a participant and flier. The guy is a prince, and is personally a great supporter of the RC helicopter hobby. His MRC company, along with the Thunder Tiger company, offers us one of the two standards of RC helicopter flown by most of us today. The Hirobo X-Spec and Evo helicopters. Again a special thanks to you Jeff, and all who supported our efforts. Everyone was greatful to you all for your interest and support of the gathering. Jeff Hilderbant operated the setup and help clinic again for us this year. And he provided outstanding help for many at the gathering as usual. Thanks from all of us Jeff. Most of all, we wish to thank all who came to the helicopter gathering from near and far. You guys made the helicopter gathering a successful event. Your desire to be with others who share the same interest as you do is what propels our momentum. Hope to see all of you next year. One day down, one to go. So far over a 100 helicopter fliers, and more coming today by all accounts. If you get a chance and are within driving distance of Atlantic City New Jersey stop by. We will have the prize drawings tomorrow, and things should get even a bit more interesting. Just got back from the hospitality suite. Looked like many had a good time on day one, and night one of the HELICOPTER GATHERING. Alan and Danny Szabo were in a word, Great. And there are a lot of other fliers here who are getting real good at flying these things as well. OC Bob

Demo filghts both days performed by Danny and Alan Szabo. On the house food and drinks at the site. Free prize raffels, with decent prizes. Hospitality suite at the Tropicana hotel casino Saturday night. Food and booze on the house. And maybe a surprise or two as well. Starts 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning September 4th and goes through Sunday September 5th. Everyone is welcome. Hi Guys, Everyone is invited to come and fly. We play no favorites. If you are a 3D monster, or a guy learning to hover, everyone is involved equally. That is the beauty of this event. You keep it safe first and foremost, and the rest happens the way it happens. Everyone gets plently to eat on the house, has equal pin time to fly, has an equal chance to win at the prize drawings, is invited to the hospitality suite in Atlantic City Saturday night for free dinner and booze. And the price of admission is to just show up and be a part of the helicopter gathering. We have many prizes to give away this time around. If you think there was a lot last year, wait until you see this year. Helicopters, Radios, Gyros, Governors, Fuel, so on and so fourth. We will have setup clinics for anyone who wants a little help with their ships. Alan and Danny Szabo will be here to provide us with some really first class flying. Their Father Al will be here with them. He is a gem to talk to, and hang with. They are all down to earth people like you and me as well, and are always more then happy to discuss RC helicopters with any and all who attend. These guys are both first class flyer's. Most of all they are all first class people. I OC Bob will also be there to provide you with some first class crashing. How can you guys beat this well rounded field? OC's HELICOPTER GATHERING 2---SEPTEMBER 4th and 5th near Atlantic City New Jersey. Bring your friends, your helicopters, and your desire to be with others wanting the same thing as you and me. Two weeks left until the HELICOPTER GATHERING begins. Many are writing for directions so here they are. The Helicopter Gathering is being held at our larger field this year because of what the attendence numbers look like. This flying site is on the Black Horse pike west of Mays Landing N.J. This is west of Atlantic City N.J. on Rt 322, about 13 miles. Rt 322 is the black horse pike. On a map find where Rt. 50 and Rt 322 intersect at. The site is about 2 miles west of that on Rt 322 just past a farm market called Carmens Farm market. A few hunderd feet past Carmens farm market on the same side is a Smokey the Bear sign. At the Smokey the bear sign is the enterance to the flying site. Turn in there, and it is about 500 feet back in. Again, Carmens farm market is about 2 miles west of where RT 50 and Rt 322 intersect, on Rt 322. The site entrance is a few hundred feet past Carmans farm market at the smokey the bear sign.
